Good video. Thanks. You can save a lot of money by buying fence pickets instead of 1xs. They are about 5 1/2" wide by 6' long. Here in Ohio they cost about $2.18 for the pressure treated and $3.14 for Cedar. Both will last much longer outdoors than untreated boards.

The planter boxes are lovely and easy to make. I love the white finish. A stained finish is also nice too but I suppose it depends on how you want your front outdoor entrance to look like.

This is great! I made some self watering containers out of 5-gallon buckets and want something to cover them so I can put them in front of my house. This "sleeve" idea is exactly what I was looking for. I may make them double wide so I can put two buckets in each, Perhaps put a divider in to stabilize. Also, I'll put a "sill" on top so water cant get into the boards that are upright to help them last a bit longer.

Nice, easy, quick project. Just what I was looking for to cover some 5 gallon bucket self-watering containers. The lack of a bottom is great, to let the water drain. I'm debating putting a finishing board on the top, in order to keep the water from getting into the end grain of the vertical side pieces. Help it last longer.

Is it true they say not to wear gloves while operating any type of sawing machine? Because when the blade catches the gloves, you have no way to react as opposed to bare hands are relatively easier to move away.
