Ivan, Nick - what's up? I have been a weekend warrior since I was 16 (almost 58 now) and now I have some pretty severe detailing OCD 😂 I am more than competent with a DA, and I did buy a cheap (Chicago Electric) rotary from Harbor Freight many moons ago, but I've only used it a few times, as I was basically afraid of it and the high speeds. I've started watching your channel and saw this video. I figured. "Why Not?" and picked up a few waffle pads. I just got in from the garage, after polishing the top surfaces of my car. You are right on the money. Speed "1" and light movements are awesome. Even with only a medium polish, all but the absolute deepest scratches are gone (I'm not entirely sure they can be removed anyway). The waffle pad IS better than the flat pad, there is a noticeable difference in the pad/machine "thinking for itself" and wanting to walk. I do have one issue, my polisher is VERY heavy. So I actually have to LIFT some of the machine's weight off the pad, or it gets twitchy. AWESOME technique and process though, works GREAT!!

@diydetailofficial7 ай бұрын

There's hundreds of videos online about this already. A one step is using a compound that has a cutting and finishing abillity. An enhancement might remove 50+ percent of swirls whilst improving gloss. Which is basically what a one step also does.

I've got a rotary at home so I tried your technique but not really getting the results I expected. I'm from Australia so I can't purchase your exact products yet but I've got an orange waffle pad and am using Meguiar's UC. No pressure low speed rotary slightly damp and covering an area about 10 times over gives me ~50% scratch removal. There are still a lot of visible swirls but looks glossier for sure. Do I just need to keep going over? 20-30 times to get a good result?
