I can say with hundreds of pounds of dry-ice experience run through my machine over the past few years, to much misinformation here. The "fog" that is produced is hot when exiting the nimbus, and for that reason, when it comes into contact with a cold surface like a marble dance floor, condensation will form every time. Quick drying of the dancefloor or stage can be accomplished by way of a high velocity floor fan. I use a PATTON stainless steel 22" high velocity floor unit plugged into a dmx relay pack for control that I Run immediately after say a first dance to quickly dry up the surface. The supplied power con should never be plugged into same outlet as the hardwired plug, as it needs to have a completely separate 15-20 amp circuit. Doing so can and will trip the breakers. Each heater node inside the nimbus draws 1500 watts x2. This will be 3000 watts combined total load. 15 amp circuit =1800 watts. 20 amp circuit =2400 watts. not enough juice on a single receptacle. Plus serious potential to start melting wires. Barr, next time do some research and get yourself dry-ice pellets, no ice prepping going that route, just pour it into basket and enjoy. Cooler Cooler Cooler. Never use an air tight container to transport this stuff because it WILL EXPLODE! Keep it in brown paper bags of 10 lbs a piece in a ice chest like an igloo or coleman, and moving blankets work great to cover it up inside cooler to slow down the evaporation rate. That's what the nimbus does. Speeds up evap rate. Once fog is coming out it is already evaporated back into a gas and will dissipate. Using that method will prolong the usable life. 5-10 lbs will evaporate in a 24 hr period so get enough! There's no other way to safely get this effect with a "smoke" machine, period. Using an old school smoker with a chiller in front will cool down regular smoke and have it low-lying for a bit, but ultimately will rise into smoke alarms setting them off.

Would 20lbs be sufficient for a first dance?
@DJRickWeb7 жыл бұрын
Well covered Barr. Its a pretty cool effect used it multiple times over the years. My company owns 4 of them in road cases Lol. Normally a $400 add on for all 3 first dances. It will also never set off the fire alarms the fog is C02 which is heavier than air which is why it stays on the floor. Also why it wont set off the fire alarm as it will evaporate before it gets anywhere near the alarms.

How wet was the floor? I mean during wedding how long it has to dry up for before people can safely start walking on it without falling and slipping? Does it have to be mopped or any fans used to make it dry quicker?

Whats up DJ Barr! Next time try getting the dry ice in pellets. TONS easier to maneuver with. No risk of burning your hands and no crushing required. The ice vendor should sell them in bags!

Nice, I was looking into that product and love it. But I hate that it leaves such slippery spot after it fogs up the floor. Do you think the floor would get as wet in a bigger space or would it do that whenever it's in use? Also man, if you make your way southbound, Encinitas,Ca is a place to hit up for bomb Mexican food!!! 👍🏼

gr8 vid again B.A.R. only it just took me 2.5 years to find or see it but still it was dope!! Now with my past experience str8 up and things similar to this unit.... So a gino + for that tool is really on the high side of the spectrum and im guessing that USD$. I found vids on U-Tube here how to make a cheap one of those and it totally works as good for around 30 bones CAD. If ya got a good regular smoke/fog machine that has a high wattage you should be able to pull off something pretty similar to this one u rented. A smaller machine still works great tho still and u can pull the effect off pretty damn good. All ya need is some PVC pipe or laundry dryer flex/duct hose, a pail from home depot, some screen, a piece of something to cover the the top of the pail tape/silicone & at most half hr of your time. BOOM SHELL it works even using regular ICE (cubes) but a bit of a better effect using DRY ICE for sure as your cooling the warm fog with it. Check a look on the tube for a home made smoke chiller and find the results and videos that accommodate your needs or customer wants/requests for literally $30 :) Keep em coming brotha-man ur vids are always worth the watch

@neolightproductions7 жыл бұрын
djBOB 365 would you say it has a similar effect if using dry ice?
@iambobby35377 жыл бұрын
Not nearly as good as the Nimbus but the fog does drift low along the floor. Chilling the fog makes it denser, or heavier so it does act like the nimbus but the fog warms quickly and starts to drift upward. Dry Ice is of course colder so the effect on the fog lasts longer. Mister Kool was about $150

extraordinary.. here in Republic of Moldova we charge betwen 50 and 80 € ( 60-100$) just for the first wedding dance at the first, some one uses that kind of machines under other brands but now we make them customly, specialy designed with 60liters of wather and 14-15 kg of dry ice (dry ice 1.25$ per kg) the ice is produced in small tubes that not need to be crashed in smal parts and with that kind of machines we are able to cover all kind of venues from small to big and also we put a litel peaces of ice in glases on fourcshette to excite the quests everybody remain imprest of all this

Just got this bad boy. Still working out the kinks. Machine calls for 10lbs of dry ice. I’ve tried 10,13 and 16 lbs. I feel like I should use more ice or instead of trying to lower handle to medium, just do an initial dump on high setting. Any thoughts? I might be four years to late (comments seem really old) but any advice will help. Ty

Fog machines are less likely to trip sensitive fire alarms. Haze is great for lighting, but Fog machines like the Nimbus are a great addition to slow dances and entrances. This is something Haze cannot do.
@fedscame7 жыл бұрын
Joe Lewis i agree with you on the seccond part but its a fact that haze trip less fire alarms thats why clients are starting to pick it more
@joelewis7 жыл бұрын
Well we have two types: Oil and Water based haze. Oil haze is more likely to trip alarms, and it lasts longer. Water lasts less and you'll need more, but is less likely to trip an alarm. Older venues
