Hey man got a question for you since i can't find any answers online. If I use a high pass output from my subwoofer to my tops, can i still turn the tops up until the limit light starts blinking? Or is it more dangerous since nearly all that power is being used by the tweeters, therefore making them more likely to blow?

The power is not shared between the tweeter and the sub. They use completely different amps in the speaker. The sub amp normally clips before the tweeter amp. Which is why on a high pass you can turn it up more until the tweeter amp clips

@@SchizoRyan DJ Rick Web nope, actually your power does get shared. If you have one speokon input carrying both high and low frequencies from your amp like you would with a full range speaker. There is a crossover inside the speaker that devides the frequencies over the tweeter and the woofer. This usually is around 3000-4500 hertz. Meaning if you would use more power of your amp (so crossover in the amp or before depending if your amp has a built in crossover) for high frequencies, I would suggest put the crossover between your sub and tops around 110-120 hertz, you actually do indeed get more power to your tweeter if you still push the SAME amount of WATTS to your speakers. -- In this case because your sub has a crossover that filters out bass for your tops, this won't lead to extra power for your tweeters but possibly just a little extra power to the subwoofer as the low frequencies don't get send to the next speakers in line. I hope this cleared things up a bit and wasn't too confusing as I wrote this on my phone.

i was in a tent with like 2000-3000 people at a festival (i worked there) there was like 14x double 18 inch subs and 8 tops weithing 140kg each and about like 5-7 times as big as this how is he loud enough lol roughly 130Db(c) at the barrier with all the people in the tent so a lot of absorbtion ......

I don’t care with anybody says, that truss across the front ON your speaker stands is NOT safe. A simple bump into it and those 712’s are going over, killing someone. If you’re going to use trussing as a barricade, it needs to be deployed securely.

That's not speaker stands though. The legs on that thing are larger than normal as they are designed to hold 150 lbs of lighting 12ft in the air. Plus bump... lol I had to kick people off for standing on the truss and trying to us it as stripper poles. The thing wasn't going anywhere.

I'd hate to see the FAA stick you with a stupid fine for "furthering your business with drone footage without a license." Oh yeah, they'd absolutely hate someone flying a drone this close to a crowd too. Keep that to yourself for sure. Funny thing is you could fly it around like a crazy ass over the crowd indoors and they can't say anything about it. There's your loophole!

I would definitely try and at least get a line array there next year. Hell you could ground stack it on some subs but with the amount of people what you have simply wont cut through crowd noise. Also depending on how late this event is allowed to run maybe a bigger lighting rig. Wish I was there man. Awesome job none the less! Edit: if you do get a larger rig you will have to bring in a generator or if you are lucky maybe the building has a tap.

I mean hell 3000 people at just a couple of bucks would make a profit enough to continue to make the event bigger and better into the following years. Common sense says I have ran much smaller events with a budget and managed to get a line array in there. You lack the common sense to understand crowd coverage and necessitate need. As he said himself the owners of the building see him as a authoritative figure being that he has control over the entire production. However you get 3000 people in a tight space (mind you the acoustics and slap you get off the building must be awful) will make it hard for anyone to facilitate order. It's not only getting the PA for pure enjoyment but in the case people do have issues it allows for a clear line of communication. Speaking of event safety why are cops not involved? The event I ran we required cops and security on scene throughout the day to control the crowd as needed.

The apartment has a private security force deployed every year. Roughly 30 to 50 of them. And there is no possibly way to have a cover. There are 30 points to enter the facility. Plus it's an apartment complex with residence....

Should have called every DJ in the area and gotten some loaner speakers if the budget was insufficient. 4 tops is beyond inadequate for this application. There simply has to be a way to have gotten more firepower for a venue and crowd of that size.

You be surprised. And when your talking this size and style of event. More standard DJ tops past the 4 we had wont have been any louder. We needed more throw which requires a completely different style speaker. But for the most part it was 100 db all the way to the middle of the crowd. But it did tapper off heavy at the back.

Some passive SRX 835 and SRX 828 could of done this event easy with two per side with some qsc PL 380 it would wreck your system. I understand that you like sticking to some active and a little smaller things like the prx. But for these events you need the big toys!

I'd have those amps too if I had the money for them. I'm running RMX 1850/2450 at the moment. They're very affordable used. As business picks up, I'll start buying new. :)

Check out MagicFX confetti and streamer cannons, they would be great for this (and probably a lot of other stuff you do) they are dirt cheap for what they are but very very good. in the UK, I can only get them from BAX music

I don't want to sound smart or anything but your setup isn't sufficient for 3k people in my opinion. Our setup for 300 people at max is larger then this in a indoor environment. Also that stage looks so instable with such thin supports. But well I guess if it does the job, it works
