I just had the Avata 2 delivered to me today. I am never going back to analog :D . The video quality and the goggles are amazing. Im not sure Im gonna like this motion controller. Only flown for about 10 mins so have not given it a fair shake yet. More than likely going to order the FPV controller. Just hard to plunk down 200$ for what should be a 60 or 70 controller after dropping 1200$.

I love the motion controller. It's so much more intuitive and relaxing. The controller 3 is pretty nice, but the sticks feel really clunky compared to what I'm used to. When you're moving around the sticks, they have weird resistance when you switch to the other direction.

Thanks for the great video. I started with the Aquilia 16 that I saw in one of your videos. I’ve been flying R/C since I was 13 when built my first Cessna’ish high wing trainer with a .40 OS 2stroke and a 4 Channel Airtronics Tx. I’m just giving background that I think is the cause of the problem I’m having. Starting with the Aquilia 16 VFR(without goggles) is gravy. I’m having a huge problem with the goggles . Partly the camera angle needed love so I pulled it apart, fixed the mounting and clearanced some plastic. That made a big difference. So I kept finding things to fix. I replaced the monopole wire antenna on the video Tx module with an inverted F and pushed the power up. So now the quality of the video is perfect, but I still can’t stand having the goggles on my face. Is it still FPV flying if I’m flying the drone while displaying the video feed on my 50” Garage Flat screen TV. I’m serious about the TV… It wasn’t hard to do and it’s so much more comfortable. Do you know of any way to desensitize myself to the goggles, short of wearing them around town..? Any wisdom will be greatly appreciated

A quick question if possible, I currently have a DJI Mini 3 Pro but am very interested in flying FPV. Am i better spending more money and getting an Avata 2 with longer flight times and the ability to go into Manual mode when I am confident. Or should i spend less and get a Easymax Tinyhawk 3 for example. I know this is a hard question, but just wondering your opinion?

As noted in the video, DJI does not support the Avata 2 within the DJI Virtual simulator. Also, no simulators outside DJI use the Motion controller because that is not an item that exists in the real FPV Drone world (it’s just a DJI Thing). If you owned an RC hobby transmitter like the RADIOMASTER Pocket then you could play any sim. Also there are next to no sims that would have the Avata 2 as a drone, you have to practice on a real FPV Drone that has no beginner assistance (I.e., no such thing as Beginner NORMAL/SPORT modes).

You are missing a key element. As I have learned the hard way, in ANY mode, the AVATA2 can have a minor crash and fall to the ground and from there, when it SHOULD disarm, it will sometimes instead go insane and literally destroy itself slamming repeatedly into all manner of objects in the vicinity with the user helpless to stop it. There is a similar slider to that fake ACRO mode one that lets you arm/disarm the drone manually and then you must set a custom button on the controller for this function. Then you can actually prevent the drone from turning a nothing little minor spill into an automated catastrophe.
@CAPTAINDRONE79819 күн бұрын
Hmmm…. It sounds like you experienced this

@@CAPTAINDRONE798 I kind of assumed the "break button" would also act as a disarm. NOPE. WRONG. That button will trigger Tasmanian Devil mode if there is anything obstructing a clean hover. Once it broke a prop it kept trying to climb at full throttle but FORTUNATELY there was a canopy overhead so it didn't result in a flyaway incident. Good thing too because there's an airport in EVERY direction from me.
@CAPTAINDRONE79819 күн бұрын
@@Douglemagne I was wondering if this happened to you in NORMAL or SPORT mode. I only fly in MANUAL mode and only happens to me if I try to fly between objects, and instead strike the object, then it hits the ground and goes crazy as you described. @CAPTAINDRONE7987 ай бұрын
In case you are unaware. Mode 2 is the most popular stick mode in the RC hobby, followed by Mode 1. Mode 3 is the minority so you’ll find it difficult to find popular channels on KZbin flying Mode 3.
@Justinb817 ай бұрын
Short answer: mode 3 is mode 1 with a different software setting in the remote or drone. (Yaw and roll switched) Just remove the spring tensioner on the other side of the remote. If you have chosen mode 3 because you have flown model airplanes for 30 years in mode 1 and someone told you you should fly helicopters or quadcopters/drones in mode 3 (like I was): You do not have the muscle memory yet for flying FPV quads manually due to the funny camera angles from just using rudder and needing combined input, not from flying mode 1 airplanes, mode 3 helicopters or mode 3 DJI drones (I was there). Take a FPV sim (DRL costs €10) and try all 3 modes in acro/expert non auto leveling mode. If none come naturally, train on mode 2

Please don't skip the simulator. If you won't do it for the sake of your own wallet, then do it out of respect for other's safety and their property. Jumping into acro/manual without some level of flight training is downright irresponsible. I'm seeing way too many videos of people with zero knowledge or Simulator experience flipping over to manual mode on their brand new Avata 2 and thinking its okay because they are only hurting their wallets by crashing it into the ground over and over. If it does something unexpected you need to be able to react quickly and safely.
