For MA2 I use a 4-32 variable ND which is on all the time. For M2P a fixed ND-8 is the only one I use since M2P has adjustable aperture.

Variable makes total sense. Land it, turn it a click and take off. Don’t have to fumble around take one off, put it away put another on.

I don’t think so,the main issue is to get back the drone .it will take only more 5 seconds max to change filter,while it may take minutes to get the drone back.

I want to get the variable set to but I keep hearing that because they use polarized lenses when it comes to variable you really can't do good panorama's because every time you change the angle you would get different colors in different places in the sky. Regular ND filters don't have this issue when you change position. so it all depends what is more of an inconvenience.. do you want to take each lens off to change the exposure with the ND filters then you can take panorama's, 360 s up in the air without having to bring it down. Or do you like the convenience of variable ND filters4 video but then if you do panorama's and stuff like that you need to bring the Drone back to home to take the ND filter off This is what I read so I don't know what to do 🤣

I bought the rest from the ND filters (ND4, ND8, ND32) from DJI. Now I have all i need (as a fly more combo buyer). Do a real test between DJI and PGYTECH. I'm sure the differences will not even be discernible ... If this is the case (one element is that for the first time DJI gives free ND filters) why buy the ND filters of another company? Whose filters fit best in mavic air 2 without causing problems?

1. ND filters and HDR video is no go 2. there is no difference between ISO 100 and 400 (Air2 of course). 2 of my favorite photographers did confirm that with samples. exactly the same amount of noise is present in ISO 100 and 400. Billy, please, check it out and stop spreading your idea that ISO 100 is a must.

The NDs that come with the fly more are great for full sun mid day flights (16) and the 256 allows for creative options to show motion blur with long shutter speeds. So I think they gave folks better options creatively they might not have otherwise tried. And I disagree with your dislike of vari ND filters like the Polar Pro Vari ND 2-5. This is a super option. Put the 2-5 on and leave home with all you need from sunrise to sunset for basic shutter speed control. This was a Pgytech commercial.

Even if you don't want the DJI ND filters, it looks like the fly more smart controller combo is still the way to go since it is $150 cheaper than buying the Mavic Air 2 and smart controller separately, plus you get the extra batteries, props, and bag.

I like the option of variable filters, so I'm not digging around to find another filter in my bag. Can’t see how using a variable ND filter is any more of a waste of time than swapping filters. Decisions made at ground level are the same in either case. At least if you have to land to make a change, twisting the filter in use is quicker than changing filters. Or what am I missing?

I have PolarPro VND filters as well and have never had the gimbal overload even when flying in very windy conditions. The only time it happens is when I'm holding the gimbal to adjust the stop or change to the 6-9 filter and that still happens with the DJI filters so I doubt the weight of the filter is the cause , holding the gimbal while changing filter is..

I have to disagree with what you say about VND filters @ 6:10 . Even with a fixed filter you still have the drone on the ground to change it and still have to get it in the air to check it and you still have to land it if it's not the right filter and surely the point of setting the filter on the ground and it changing exposure once it's up in the air us true of either . The point of a VND is speed in just rotating the bezel and infinite stop adjustments between 2-5 & 6-9 also fewer filters and cases to have to fit in a flight bag or case. To say fixed filters is a fire and forget solution and less hassle than a VND is totally misleading.
@derekdrummond7544
@derekdrummond7544 4 жыл бұрын
@D D They may be a gimmick but many many people find them useful and don't seem to be bothered by banding as they're not professionals and the point still does not change the ease of use of a VND compared to a fixed filter.
