That's the first time I've seen to use the exposure reading, keeping your frame rate 'law' in tact, to find out which filter you need! Thank you for the tip!

This was awesome. Thank you for all the examples and insight. I've LOVED my Mini 3 Pro footage, but I'm excited to try some filters and a little more "pro" settings.

Thank you for this video. I’m currently waiting delivery of my M3P. You’ve helped me make up my mind on what ND filter set to use. Can’t wait to get it up in the air!!!!

That’s exciting! The Mini 3 Pro has had some nice sales lately and it’s got a great size to quality ratio considering it’s just a 249g drone. Have fun!

@@GreatDayForAHike yes they do. That was the little nudge I needed to hit the buy now button lol. Do you have any plans on doing a tips and setup video for the M3P?

Thx for a very helpful tutorial. How do u maximize the use of a polarizer given that when the drone is airborne the filter cannot be rotated?
@GreatDayForAHike Жыл бұрын
Thank you. I rotate it before getting it up in the air if it’s conditions where I know I’ll want to use it.

Great explanations and recommendations! One thing you didn't mention is where the little dot on the polarizing ND filter should line up. Should the dots be 0 degrees aways from each other (i.e. directly next to one another) or should the lens be turned 90 degrees away from the static alignment dot, in order to cancel out reflection?

Hello there, now that i learned and mastered cinemtatic movements, i want to move forward and get into ND filters. I already know the formula to choose the right one and i know what PL filter does. If i want the shutter reducing effect AND the polarisation effect, i need to go for ND/PL filters. I dont want to buy ND and ND/PL filters, only one of them. Would there be any issue to use ND/PL if i only want the ND effect? For perfect polarisation the PL needs to be adjusted perfectly. What happens when i dont adjust it and just see it as a ND filter?

I have a serious question how do you clean the inside of these tiny ND filters for the Mini 3 drone when I use the cloth on the inside it seems to have a haze that will not go away

You can set the shutter speed tho so you dont need to use a filter?
@livinginoklahomacityofficial25 күн бұрын
@MrDogtown22 the filters aren't to make setting the shutter speed possible. The filters are to compensate for the amount of light that the sensor lets in once you set the shutter speed. In the middle of the day or when sunny, setting the shutter speed at twice the frame rate will allow too much light into the sensor, making the image blown out and rendering it unusable. The filters allow you to set this shutter speed on a bright day, while also preserving the integrity of the image quality.

I’ve seen a little bit about it. If I recall correctly it can only do up to 2.7K video? The design and form factor are neat on it.

I'm curious about the difference between a round, polarizing ND filter and a normal one. If you could answer, I'd be grateful.

Hi! I have a question about your hyperlapse video. I recently tried to create a stationary sunset hyperlapse using my Mini 4 Pro with an ND filter, following your tutorial. However, my results were wobbly, as it seems the drone shifted between frames. Upon re-watching your video, it looks like there was some movement in your hyperlapse. Did you add this movement in post-production, or was the drone flying in a specific direction? Thanks for your help!

@@GreatDayForAHike Probably because you're filming @24fps while most monitors are at 60Hz or 120. Recording to show on monitors seems to be better @30fps and shutter speed at 1/60. I've seen somewhere here on KZbin that it's also possible to put the 24fps recording on a 30fps timeline to keep the more cinematic effect and prevent the stutter.
