A few years ago I bought a DJI Spark (still have it and it works very good), Next I bought a Fimi X8 SE (still have it and it also works very good), then I bought Fimi mini 3 - still getting use to it but it does everything that I would want.. I am very happy with all 3 drones.. I often down sample as 4K does not do well on 1080P monitors..

I just scored a Fimi Mini 3 on aliexpress for $320 AUD ($220 USD) and I'm STOKED! I've been flying my Fimi X8 SE for 4 years and I'm really impressed with the FLOG colour setting and using luts in DaVinci to colour correct in post. I'm really excited for the much better image sensor. The X8 SE is amazing in full daylight with the ND filters to stop it down, but it's let me down trying to film lightning storms because they mean low light. The Mini 3 should solve that for me. Beast little drones, Fimis.

I need to point out that Fimi Mini 3 is a SUMMER ONLY drone. When temps go to 10 celcius or less, the camera loses focus and everything become blurry.

Indeed, FIMI is a beautiful drone! But in any barrel of honey there is a spoonful of tar. These are video problems at negative temperatures. For a resident of the northern country, this is completely unacceptable. Very sad as the performance of this drone is impressive. Most likely, you will have to pay extra to get the same functions and performance from DJI. Because having two drones, one for summer, the other for winter is somewhat expensive. (to me at least)) And thanks for the video, it was helpful. 👍

My thought is that the best drone to have is one that will take off when you want it to. My fimi will launch anywhere i askit to. My friends dji mini 4 rarely launches without having to get permission, if available. So far, no cell signal, no launch. Fimi rules.

I just bought the Mini 3. First it wouldn't allow me to fly it because it was too dark, then it wouldn't allow me to fly in the afternoon because it said my entire property is restricted airspace...returned it.

I own DJI mini 3 and its very good, but i miss tracking options. So im going to probably sell it and buy Fimi mini 3. But I wanted to buy a drone for my dad who is not as demanding as me, and I will probably buy mini 4k for him, due to simple reason: DJI Care, if he crashes it and he never flown a drone or even played a simple video game on gamepad, then he will be able to get it fixed for small amount of $$$. For me Xiaomi wins, i have flown over 100 hours on my mini 3 and never even was close crashing it ;) If Xiaomi would release a competition to mini 3 pro or 4 pro with obstacle avoidance it would be perfect.

The only thing that's drone needs is obstacle avoidance. That's all i need. It has followed me, but my concern is that it will hit something while it is following me. The functions work great. I have a DJI as well. I live in vegas. I get a lot of interrence. I need to test the cameras to see which one works in broad daylight. From what i remember, the DJI did better on a sunny day.

I really appreciate watching your video! Thanks a lot for sharing! I find myself in a dilemma situation: DJI Neo x DJI mini 4K x Fimi mini 3. To be honest with you, I've never flown a drone before, so this reality is completely new to me. It's clear that Fimi offers more for less though. I'm interested in tracking mode for riding a motorcycle or driving and family shots on trips. Neo has a poor video and image quality. Fimi has a poor signal and DJI mini 4K is poor in flight options! did it ever arrive? mine didn't. fimi took my money and never sent the drone, or it was sent and lost, but they never resent or refunded. I have FULL PROOF from the courier company in writing, courier company then gave a refund to FIMI for a lost package!!! So they got a refund from the courier and they got my money, they got paid twice for a drone they never sent me.

I have both of these drones, plus the FIMI X8 SE 2022. The range is about the same on both mini drones. The night AI filming is great on the FIMI. FIMI drones definitely don't do well in colder temps below 32 degrees fahrenheit, the mini's gimbal will shake and look like jello in the footage.

Neither have obstacle avoidance to stop the drone when an obstacle is detected. However, they both have downward vision sensors. The Mini 4K weighs 249g. The Fimi Mini 3 245g

Hey! I have a question. I have Fimi x8 mini 3. In the app I have a coverage icon shaped like the phone coverege and the range of the drone is a maximum of 700m. I have seen on other videos that the icon is shaped like a wifi icon and then the range is bigger.

The problem with this comparison is forgetting to mention for the 1-battery version, the DJI Mini 4K is $50USD cheaper! The comparison should be with the discontinued DJI Mini 2. I have all these mini 4K capable drones, and for FIMI X8 I have the Mini, Mini V2 and Mini 3, and I also have the original DJI Mini, Mini 2, Mini 3, Mini 3 Pro and Mini 4 Pro and other similar drones. DJI wins hands down in terms of reliability and the FIMI Mini wins in the "feature" department. DJI seems to insist that tracking must be with obstacle avoidance, which means you only get the tracking, waypoint, etc on DJI drones with obstacle avoidance. Therefore, Mini 4K and Mini 3 lag of these features. On the other hand, of all the mini drones of lower price, the X8 Mini 3 has the best WayPoint capability. The problem is that you have to be very careful because it does not have the obstacle avoidance capability. In terms of image quality, if you did not get exposure correct, the comparison is not fair. The FIMI X8 Mini 3 produces more saturated images with default setting, but the DJI's looks more neutral. There are more differences, of courses. However, differences are just differences (or preferences) and cannot be used for saying which one is better than the other.

Every single drone I've bought from Fimi (X8 2020, Mini, Mini 2) was delivered faulty and because Fimi have no local support outside China they all had to be returned to China at my expense. Fimi are great at advertising features which are simply lies (range) or don't exist like RAW. Fimi over compress still images so any zoom/crop at all produces a blurry mess. The Fimi Mini 3 is not a 48MP sensor, it's a 12MP sensor that produces 48MP images by interpolation - badly. As has been said by others the cold weather performance is dreadful and images/video can be unusable. Don't waste your money - buy DJI.

That’s a good point. These manufacturers do almost everything better than DJI but then slack off in the RF department. Often using dated Wi-Fi transmission style modes compared to the superior DJI lightbridges and occusync. I do radio stuff all the time so I can appreciate how they make what are really bad almost useless frequency ranges surprisingly perform well and the difference to me is very noticeable. It’s not just range but I notice the occusync are also more stable connection, no dropouts or pixelations on the live view.
