I'm not sure it will track you on a motorbike. But I am sure that if it won't track a car it won't follow my trike with solar roof either. So does this mean you wasted your money? Well no. Soon as a third party app such as Litchi or Maven will work with the Neo, there's a 99% chance they will add GPS follow-me following the controller and/or phone. And that will probably be much faster too.

Finally some common sense...Thank you...other reviewers are complaining its not a mini 4 Pro...the battery life sucks, the camera sucks, its too light for windy conditions..If you buy a Fiat 500...that is what you bought..Not a ferrari!....I have this drone, the mini 4 Pro, a Mavic air and the Hover Air X-1...I agree 100% with your assessment...It is what it is...I just bought my extra batts and the charger...I will say this..if you want to charge all your batts at once, you will need a high power charger...This drone will sell very well...I expect DJI will push some updates to fix some of the issues..

Its a Hover X1 /X1 Pro, with DJI having more ecosystem. 2 controllers Goggkes 3 (Goggles 2/Integra likely to be added) FPV Controller 3, Motion Controller 3, Phone, Vpice. They even did the propeller noise filter for voice. Then, theybsell it for at least $150 LESS than ZeroZero. Watch out! DJI goes ballistic when they see a niche unfilled, or worse, being created by a competitor.

This will be great for sticking in a backpack to take on a motorcycle, bicycle or hiking trip. I have one preorder and have a RCN3 controller ordered as well, however the ability to fly it (limited range) with just a phone is appealing. I really hope they will add a little bit more backwards compatibility in future firmware for FPV accessories.

Thanks for the post! This so much like the Hover X1 that I have, and so many of its modes are so similar, you’d almost think it’s like a Hover X+ kind of a thing! Right at the same time the Pro versions of the Hover gets released is no coincidence! That it’s compatible with my Avata 2’s goggles, and motion is nice though. I’m more likely to upgrade to the Hover that I already have, I like the compactness and its longer battery life. Thanks

​@@markkempton4579"Seems" far more capable, it does look good as an FPV drone for beginners, but other channels show its limitations like any wind and it struggles fairly slow, so no 10km range tests also many reviews show around 7-8 min flight times. But yeah a bargain at its price! Just do not expect it to be anywhere close to the Mini 2 SE in performance.

The new Pro models that just got released aren’t available in the USA right now. I’d consider getting one to stay cross compatible. They were first. I think that’s because of the anticipated legislation against china made drones, so they’re protesting by holding the release here! (Go figure!) I’ll no doubt end up with both cuz since affording them isn’t an issue.🇺🇸

​@@markkempton4579I've been using a Hover X1 since last year and in autonomous mode, the Neo doesn't seem to do anything better from all the reviews I've seen. In fact flying in reverse it doesn't seem as good. But its selling point is that you can use it with remote more like a traditional drone. But both the Neo and Hover X1 are too slow to be useful if faster action. Neo maximum track at 21kph is even worse than the Hover X1 at 25kph. That hasn't been enough to keep up with my mountain biking and gravel riding adventures. So while the Neo is cheap, it doesn't meet the speed requirements for a lot of action. That's why I'm looking at the new Hover X1 Pro that tracks at 42kph with burst up to 60kph.

Watching your video on September 11th 2024. The drone is now available on the DJI website and also Amazon. Just ordered the combo with the dock and extra batteries (no combo with the RC included still sadly). To be honest, since I bought my Mavic Pro 2 Zoom, I was a bit put off lately with drones, between the usually high prices of those and that DJI ban in the corner, I haven't bought any new ones. But your video gave me some motivation back to get going with drones again, and get that new Neo one. Not going to use it as my main filming drone though, since my Mavic 2 is still going great for this. But using the Neo for some cool B roll, or while traveling to place I don't want to take all my regular drone gears, that drone will do just fine. Great video again, and thank you for the re-motivation in getting new drones again 😊

Ive found that almost any child in like the 8-12 yr range is immediately enthralled at the sight or chance to fly any drone. And I feel like they are able to easily and intuitively operate any DJI drone, and fly relatively confidently. The Avata 2, especially with the motion con has been a real treat for most kids that I've seen try it, and they've all been very excited for it. I think it's just unfortunate about the price. Would be nice to see a cheap budget goggles/mo-con meant for the neo. Many kids already have experience operating them, since those cheap Walmart drones and those mini flip/trick drones are popular toys. Now, about the Neo, I think your opinion is decent. It is like am evolution of those cheap Walmart/toy drones. Offering a cheap and small package, that has a lot of things to offer, and give you a taste of all the more expensive drones. I see this drone as mainly a toy, or a travel item for a casual user, maybe just wanting to take some selfie while on vacation, without asking someone to take it. I could also see this as a tool for roofing or something. A small thing that can be just tossed in a tool bag or box, and can be sent up with your phone to check a spot or seam on a roof before setting up a ladder/scaffolding. Not really good enough quality for professional output, or saving the media, but using it for real time view. More than good enough for just looking at stuff. Or I could see it for something like if you ride bikes or hike, and you wanted to post something to social media. Small enough to just toss it in a bag or pack with a single battery, and no need for a controller or SD card. Get a short video or Pic to post your workout on Facebook or whatever.

At the end of this video you talk about the software taking out the drone background sound. I tried on my mini 4 pro and it you connect a mic to the controller and record the screen, it does the same thing! I can talk to the drone and hear my voice with no drone sound. I have an Air 2S for 2 years. It's my first drone and does everything I wanted it to do. I get excited everytime I launch it....sailing videos. I always check out the new drones, their specs, but so far I haven't succumbed to "oh but it's so cool". But the Neo....I'll bite. I'm an inexperienced flyer and there have been shots that I wanted but I chickened out. With the Neo I'll take a chance. Dare I say "It's disposable?"

Fully agree with you. I have different DJI drones (Avata 2, Mini 3 Pro, Mavic....) the link between all these drones is the price. Am I ready to do tracking and break my drone? Now, with a price of 199€ (+100€ for battery), the answer is YES! (no need to by DJI Care). Ok, the quality of the camera is not perfect (but for B-roll on holiday, it's ok). My concern is more on the noise, I would like to use this drone for city trip but I am afraid it will be difficult to be "transparent' in a spot. I am also very glad to have, for the first time, a real DJI Ecosystem (Avata Googles, RC Motion...) Thanks for your video!

I think you totally nailed it in the intro. My son has been interested in drones ever since the first Avata and has been very into Avata 2 (mainly because Goggles 3 fit his small head much better than the FPV Goggles V2 that I had), but getting another one for him at that price was a bit hard to justify. Neo at 209€ was an instant order before we even watched the video, it's gonna be his first drone of his own and he already has a motion controller ready to go since I am not really using it. Now we just need the rumored new cheaper goggles to come out so he doesn't have to borrow my Goggles 3 🙂 All the complaints I've seen so far have been completely ridiculous. People seem to ignore the fact that it's a $199 135G drone... Give it a break 😄

I am looking at this as a possible cheap "keep in the car" drone for site surveys/etc. Something you can grab in a case "just in case" when you head out. No one wants to keep their good gear in a car where it can be stolen.

i don’t think it’s camera suck, it’s the software. Of course DJi can give an firmware update to improve the video quality but will they do it? Most of the features are good except when flying backwards is slow and will crashes it. I want it but i have to wait to see if DJi giving any updates to improve it. Hoverair X1 Pro seems very promising. I currently own the original x1 which i like it a lot.

Just ordered one. I spend a lot of camera gear for photo's and i know this will be VERY limited (getting the combo fly more kit today). For me drones until now is not something i wanted to 'start' i know it will send me down a rabbit hole. What i miss is being able to take (even at 12mp) shots or views i want to see in pictures. This will provide me a easy way to get a idea before and take some shots i can't normally. I hope it sells well and they release say a 1" version with a 48mp raw option later. I do feel there is a market for a $199 to $399 range for taking images but it has to be very easy 'fly from hand' move into postition... take a shot.

Can still add a small strobe and be legal at night. Very nice! Now I just need to buy a new controller because I only have the RC. Do you know if the RC2 will work since the non-screen version does?

Ya, for your work you will need the module. My DJI rep says it’s not compatible with RC2, but so many commenters say it is. I will test this weekend.
