when I used the cable (not the one where the adapter is needed), I could take pictures but not video. I used the other cable, I can take picture and video. not sure what I did wrong (I don't have the focus motor though). my cable is quite stretched (camera is near the edge of left side), im buying a 1 foot usb, hoping it will work

Hello,I just have a question about my A6400 or Ronin Sc. Lately everytime i connect my A6400 on Ronin sc by using cable its always popping out a ERROR and RED SCREEN. and suddenly my A6400 stock/frozed even i turn the switch off still the Redscreen on it,untill i remove the Battery. ive been searching a month now.Hope you have any solution for this.😖🙏🏻

The problem is when I connect the cable with the adaptor combo there is nothing in the camera screen it gives some message indicating to check connected device. Any Ideas ? ( I purchased my gimbal used and he did not give the other standard cable)

Hello! Thank you very much for this video. I have Sony a6400 and Ronin SC, but I can't get smooth footage like other people on KZbin. It's not terrible, but it is a little shaky and there is also up and down motion present. It is less noticeable when I record 4k at 24p, but then the video gets a little too blurry and kind of gives me a slight headache to look at it. The balance test says everything is excellent and I do the ninja walk. I understand that it might be my technique that is causing it, but could it be the lense? I'm using the 16-50 Sony OSS lense. Also, do you bump up the stiffness settings in the app, or do you use the autotune settings? I would really appreciate it if you could help me to figure this out. Thanks again and have a great day!

I have the ronin SC2 and Sony Alpha 6400 and as far as I know there's no way to power the camera with the gimbal. Greetings from Germany!

The issue often is how well the electronic focus is on the lens. Take MFT these are often not liner and almost impossible to get good reliable focus every time as the speed you move changed the behaviour. However that Is also the case on the ring as that’s also electronic. If your lens is electronic with an electronic ring then the Pro motor won’t really help and you can pull via the SW and Controller but you will need the focus controller. You can also do it with the RC option with out the Focus controller. If you have manual lenses then the motor is very needed. The realty is it’s probably better to get the pro kit and use what suits your setup.

I am using th e6500 and I followed your instructions but the focus wheel will not work even though I have a green light and the record button works. The only ting I could not find in the Sony menu was the cont rol with smartphone option. Is this unique to the 6400? Thanks.

Yes the A6500 is different. There is no pull focus via software on this camera. You would need the motor.

Depends on the lens, you only need the Pro if you want to pull focus or Zoom on a manual lens.

I would suggest the Pro depending on the professionalism of your setup. The second you want to use the focus knob to control focus of the lens you loose a lot of control. You can no longer send a HDMI out signal to a monitor or recorder, you cant review clips you have shot with the review button. The focus knob is also pretty tough to use without the gear. Unless your planning on running with the Gimbal and only the camera, (No external Monitor) I would suggest spending the extra money for the Pro.
