DJI Ronin SC2 Review Our Favorite Gimbal

Is it worth the upgrade from DJI ronin SC to the new SC2? would love to see a comparison video between the old model vs the new one, to kinda see the difference in the gimbal shoots etc. Also is the weight still light as the SC1 to be able to handle it in the long run? Well, the folding capabilities and more payload is something you need to take in mind.

@@WeTalkUAV I have the SONY a6400, witch does not have the OBS in the camera, is the new algorithm going to improve the stabilization if u compare it side by side with the older version in SC1 ? thats my main point if its then it’s really worth the uppgrade tbh.

The original Ronin SC worked fine for me with a Sony a6600 + 18-105. But would love to see if RSC2 can handle a6600 + MC11 adapter and Sigma18-35 f1.8 😍

Hey! Great video! I’ve just purchased this without the combo and I’m unable to use active tracking at all. Is it true that you need the rave eye in order to use active tracking on the new ronin? If so, ronin sc allowed you to use active tracking with a phone. Isn’t this a downgrade? As you’re getting less functionality in the newer base model compared to the older sc base model. Look forward to hearing back.

Im sorry to say, but i used to sony alpha 6600 with the 18-105 lens. and it worked there with no problem.

Thanks for doing a video on the RSC2 specifically, most other videos include the RS2 so it’s difficult to understand which features are also available on the little one... so i think this has confirmed my next purchase

I really appreciate how fully designed and reliable the Ronin gimbals are. I am also looking at the new Manfrotto gimbals. I am impressed with the removable handle on them. I'm new to gimbals but it seems a great benefit to have the handle rather having to hold the Ronin SC2 with just one hand. Wouldn't a the second handle allow for greater control and it would be less tiring on the arm and shoulder?

Seems for the Fuji x t3 the Primes are not fully compatible. At least not yet. Can not make the autofocus trigger work on the 16 1.4 and 56 1.2. The aperture and iso can also not be changed in video modus. The focus pulling does seem to work.

Does the SC2 have the motion control / track feature (not active track) that the ronin S and SC had? The DJI site only shows it for the RS2 and not the SC2. Thanks!

For the detached briefcase mode, can you go back and forth while the gimbal is on?? It seems like you would be grabbing the gimbal and stressing out the motors to detach and / or put it back into place while the gimbal is on??

Hey am using XT4 with XF23 F2. When I connect the usb c to usb c cable with RSC 2 the display of XT4 keeps flickering showing USB sign. Any idea why? I can’t shoot with the flickering screen 😖

For me it does and the usb cable is there. Triggering autofocus doesn't work on my primes though.

Yes you can! You don't need the smartphone for anything, less weight the better.

Поспорю на счет грузоподъемности. После множества обзоров решил взять rsc 2, но он не оправдал заявленных мощностей. Мой сетап 1.5кг - sony a7s2+slr magic microprime 25mm. В условиях идеальной калибровки механизм работает в предельной нагрузке, особенно ось панорамирования, при наклонах заваливается горизонт. Жаль потраченных денег, а они немалые. Лучше бы добавил и купил rs2.

You can buy a longer 1/4 - 20 UNC thread from Home Depot and modify it so it can screw the RSC 2 quick release plate and Meike plate directly to the Xt3, then you can access the battery door
