DJI Tello Distance Test with Android phone and without WiFi range extender

Simple test, see how far the Tello can fly before losing WiFi Connection.
The test was done in an opened area (park) where there is not too much WiFi interference.

Hey Sr. Quizas me puedes ayudar, tengo problemas de coneccion entre el Tello y la Red de internet de mi cellular. Sin embargo en la red de internet que tengo en la casa de COMCAST, se conecta perfecto. El problema es cuando salgo afuera , no hay coneccion entre el Tello y la red de internet de mi telefono. No se si me hago entender. Pudieras ayudarme, por favor..?

Sounds about right. I got 150m using xiomi mi2 extender. Imho don't bother amping the signal up. You can do it, but it's not really that type of drone.. Works pretty good as default.

Does the controller make the wifi stronger?

The WiFI controller makes the Wifi stronger. However, the best thing is that it makes the signal much more stable. It can fly far away, up to 100 meters. However I wouldn’t recommend it because the Tello is tiny and you will loose sight of it risking to loose it. The Wifi is great to fly higher, to be more responsive at longer distance, it is more fun to fly.

I have some height tests in the channel. The Tello can go up to 30 meters and with the USB WiFI repeater it’s very stable.

I agree. However, I used large steps. One large steps is around 1 meter. In the video I made some speaking mistakes specifying feet when I meant steps. I also said is an approximation.

No that I know off. It only provides height distance. There is an application for Android which costs 6€ tells you the distance.

85 step is 85 feet, not metres

I know I know, that was my brain giving a hard time 🤣🤣🤣 Later I say that a big step is around 1 meter. I did the test few times and I get the same measurements. It can go between 75 meters and 100 meters depending on the line of sight and the degree of interferences.
