We all knew what JG was going to say in his first sentence. Novak is the big winner! Hahaha every tournament hes got the easy draw according to JG. Rune 4th round and Hurkz quarters is brutal. Easy first 3 rounds but hes not that healthy so no guarantees

It depends on how you look at it. I agree with JG it’s a big win not to have drawn Alcaraz on his half for Novak. That said, I think Alcaraz probably has the easier quarter until the semis. The biggest loser is Zverev with Draper R3 and Fritz R4

Yes JG is rather biased and Ben seems to have taken some of JG’s beer- Novak did not have an easy draw in RG and Novak was not playing well at the Oz Open through to the semi final. These guys are sort of entertaining but Laurel and Hardy might be capable of being more informative.

Exciting Wimbledon this year as we near the end of the Big Three era and the reign of Novak Djokovic. Whether it’s this year or n t year, the Changing of the Guard has arrived. Sinner lost to an on fire Novak last year in the semis in straight sets. He’s probably 50% better since then and make no mistake, his power, speed and length is tailor made for this surface and I think he’s the man to beat. Having said that, Carlos Alcaraz is the defending champion and he has this extraordinary ability to elevate his game when it matters most. He doesn’t flinch. He doesn’t hesitate and when the pressure is on, he actually plays better and he’s not someone you want to bet against. Could we have 3 winners in the first 3 grand slams this year not named Novak, Rafa or Roger? If so, this hasn’t happened since 2003!

Everybody being mad about how the men's draw panned out, and I'm disappointed too, but at the same time it more or less proves to me that the draw isn't rigged because I'm positive the tournament organizers wouldn't have liked it to be like this either, because it doesn't allow a Sinner-Alcaraz final. And given the fact that Djokovic's form, fitness and health is in question, it's probably going to be someone like Hurkacz in the final, which certainly isn't better than Sinner-Alcaraz for a final. It's better to have unfortunate draw luck than it to be rigged
@haydencoxall6396

You could take the same logic and reverse it. Maybe the draw is rigged to give Novak an easy run. It really depends on perspective. To me the draw looks very top heavy.

@@haydencoxall6396 If Carlos didnt lose early last week he would keep #2 in the rankings. And he wouldnt end up in Sinner half of the bracket since #1 and #2 cant be in the same half of the bracket,so dont blame draws and talk about draw being rigged.

@@seadkapic4768 I didn't say it was rigged, I said maybe it was rigged. And if you think it's an even draw your as dumb as they come. Seedings only matter to a degree, the surface changes everything. Medvedev on clay isn't as bad as Medvedev on grass, and Zverev on grass isn't as bad as Zverev on clay.

"Djokovic AVOIDS Alcaraz ! Sinner TOUGH draw !" ARE YOU JOKING ??!! It's DJOKOVIC who has the tough draw ! Potentially having to face Hurkacz, Zverev, & Sinner - all 3 of the biggest serving grass court players in the top 8. EASILY the toughest quarterfinal against Hurkacz in his half of draw for 3rd straight year, on easily his best, big serving surface. Then against in form, healthy, super server Zverev that almost won French Open on clay. The top grass players were in Halle last week & Zverev & Hurkacz ( losing final in tiebreaks to Sinner), were the best challengers to Sinner. Sinner gets a potential Medvedev quarterfinal & Alcaraz against Ruud. 🤣 Medvedev stinks on grass as he just showed in Halle & Ruud that hasn't played since the FO & never got past 2nd round at Wimbledon. And then a potential semi against Zverev is no advantage for Djokovic Especially when Alcaraz just went out early against Draper at Queens. The biases that influence some "analysis" 😂.

Anyone who ever reads my comments is probably completey exhausted with this point I keep making - but I know of no other sport where seedings produce a 1 versus 3 and 2 versus 4. It's just not right. And I say that as one of the biggest Djokovic fans around. It's not fair, pure and simple. The only correct draw is 1-8, 2-7, 3-6, and 4-5. Tennis is my favorite professional sport, but this practice of seeding players as the Slams do, again and again, and as they did here, borders on disgraceful. Beyond that issue, I have to say a Carlos/Jannik Semifinal may represent the best match we will see, short of Novak Hubi or Sascha playing at their absolute best.

@@mchazelover I agree with you completely, but you are missing the point, I think. It's not fair to the #1 seed when he is matched against the #3 seed in the Semifinal. It should never, ever be that way. 1 versus 4, 2 versus 3 is the only fair way to do seedings. Believe me, Djokovic in the final is my wish every single time!

THE STATEMENT "TO BE THE BEST you have to beat the best, is total bs in team sports! Who you play in any sport leading up to a championship can make or break the best, esp in a sport as grueling as tennis is now! How well you've survived based on 5-6 rounds playing decent opponents in first few rounds VS playing opponents who were a Wimbledon finalist a couple yrs back and they could be a 2nd round matchup for you, is massively important. Sinner 100% got screwed! Throw in Kecmonovic, Griekspoor, Shelton, Jarry, Shapavalov, possible early opponents? IF, IF Jannik gets passed that, vs Novak and Carlos' cake first 3-4 matches! Hell yes it matters. "To be the best, you have to beat the best" smfhhh. This isn't a boxing match. Like watching Coll football n seeing these terrible conferences, n their winner beating an SEC or Big10 conference winner in bowl game. If youve played a weak arse schedule all season vs playing a grueling conf schedule where youre beat all to hell at end of season, THAT makes hell of a difference.

Surprised that Novak is playing here, after the post French Open surgery. Especially on a surface which always carries a risk for injury. I was wrong about that of course, and wish him the best at Wimbledon, but I don't think he'll raise the trophy.

I was a little surprised to see Sinner and Alcaraz in the same half of the draw. Let’s face it, the way tennis is today, we have Sinner, Alcaraz, Djokovic, and then the rest, who are a tier below. The fact that the guy who earned the number one ranking potentially has to play both of the other two to win the championship, while the guy who earned the third ranking only has to play one of the other two to achieve the same goal, seems a little unfair. I get that that’s just how the draw system plays out sometimes, though.
