@@kadosho02 Raptors and rexes that have real AI and can actually hunt you throughout the levels would be utterly _terrifying_ and oh, oh so awesome! Add in some of the compys from Jurassic Park 2 for extra challenge, too. Code the raptors like Mr. X, the rexes like the xenomorph from Alien Isolation and the compys like a classic swarm enemy so that hiding from one (or standing your ground to fight one) makes you more vulnerable to one or more of the others would make for some truly frantic and strategic gameplay.

Addendum- While I think there are far too many remakes, remasters, ect...Dino Crisis and Dino Crisis 2 do deserve remakes in the same fashion as RE2 did in 2019. Further, I would be beside myself with excitement if Capcom released Dino Crisis 3 in its intended form making it a brand new Dino Crisis experience 21+ years in the making. That my friend would move millions of copies especially if they make it a pure 9th generation release.

There was a planned unofficial remake in the works. But the work halted during COVID, and the team still working on it is in dire need of animators with experience in Unreal Engine. Go look up Team Arklays here on KZbin to see some early gameplay footage of a real remake.

I played 1 and 2. Love each for different reasons. I would love to see a hybrid of the two with a conclusion of the story. (Hoping everyone escape the loop.) But a safe bet is to recreate each in there original design.

I found a used Playstation in a thrift store around 2006. I somehow managed to get myself a copy of Dino Crisis and instantly fell in love with it. The game grabbed me and forced me to complete it end to end. Took me a couple years to track down the much rarer Dino Crisis 2. When I finally got a copy, it just didn't grab me in the same way. Thus I didn't get very far in the game before it started collecting dust. I still would love to go back to it at some point and try again, but I just don't think it captured the magic of the first one. Nor can I quite figure out what it is that makes it so good. It just has that undefinable jen se qua.

I hate correcting people but ... It's "je ne sais pas" = I don't know or "Je ne sais quoi" = I don't know what. Both applicable. But hey, I have a reason to use that three years I took of French in Highschool that I haven't used once. Lol. I really want to go back and play Dino Crisis 1 again, maybe emulated in DuckStation as you can upscale the resolution and it can make some of that polygon warping go away. I remember Dino Crisis also looking pretty good for a PlayStation game too.

My favorite part about these games (well, at least the first two) is that they are absolutely the best kind of dinosaur games: ones where the dinos are horrifying enemies that you often have to run away from because defeating in a fight is not always possible. Games with dinosaurs nowadays are multiplayer based where dinos are either mounts or pets or amusement park builders. And sure, Exoprimal has the dinosaurs as enemies, but it also gives you power armor to fight them. What's even the point? It's like Arkham City but instead of Batman you play as Superman.

I loved Dino crisis, another series I loved was Onimusha particularly the 3rd one , weirdly though whilst I loved resident evil it terrified the crap out of me as a kid , dinosaurs fine, demons and samurai fine, one slow paced zombo and I crapped ones pantaloons 😂

Dino Crisis will always be nostalgic for me. When I was 13 or so (I forget exactly but NOT old enough to play), me and my bff were going to Blackpool and the night before her dad rented us Dino Crisis and we sat up all night playing that instead of, like, sleeping!

1:35 we NEED a proper SEQUEL . Not a remake, not a reboot, but a SEQUEL. The sequel we were robbed off, that continues Regina's and Dylan's story, we were robbed of that when they made that travesty called "Dino Crisis 3". I wonder why Capcom didn't ride the success of Jurassic World and revived the series.

Dino Crisis is Capcoms answer to a Jurassic Park game and turn it into a survival horror and it is made by the same guy who made Resident Evil. It such a shame that Capcom isn’t going to remake these franchise. Maybe in the future but I highly doubt it will happen.

I only played the first 2 games and didn't like the combo system in the second game because it always felt like I had to rush through the game and didn't get to explore or take time to admire the details of the prerendered backgrounds, which is something I liked to do in games like this. But if they remade the game in the current RE style I can see it working great. If they just slap new audio & visuals on top of the original games, charge $70 and then hide the ending behind a paywall...it's not going to go over well...

another belter of a video. i remember buying dino crisis 3, i travelled 20 miles to the next town, took it home, played less than an hour then took it straight back lmao. if they bring out a remake, i think it would work best if it partly takes from the like of Outlast etc with the stealth and hiding but still have some combat. alien isolation had a pretty good mix of both

Dino Crisis is what actually got me to play the Resident Evil(Biohazard) games on the original Playstation, because of the Resident Evil 3 demo disk that was included in the copy that I had. To be fair though, demo disks were the main reason I got into most of the games I enjoyed back then. They gave you a taste and left you wanting more. I also really liked the unique sci-fi story(at the time) of Dino Crisis. The Dinosaurs were there because of an experiment with time travel that got out of hand and brought actual dinosaurs from the past to the present. Even people who played the game may not remember that little bit though as it was mentioned briefly at some point and then it was all dinosaurs and running. Yep, all those dinos were there due to time travel, not genetic manipulation as one might think due to a loose similarity to, and influence of, Jurassic Park. That's not me making stuff up, that's actually in the game. Which means it has more in common with the short lived television series Terra Nova, even though Terra Nova came out 12 years after the first Dino Crisis.

Dino Crisis 1 & 2 are fantastic. DC 2 to this day is still one of my favorite games ever made. I still play through it. The game just feels so kinetic and smooth even with tank controls. The arcade action and style of it is just unmatched. While I'd love for them to bring it back (really only if they would continue the time displacement Regina story) I would hope for it to be much different than the RE remakes were.

I got a Sega Saturn in 1996. And then I got a PS1 in 1999. Fortunately There was still a lot of software for the PS1 at that time. I was addicted to Dino Crisis 2 when I first played it in 2001. Even though it was graphically inferior to the first game, it was super addictive. I can never forget how I used to save ammo by knocking the raptor down and finishing it off with knife slashes.

I still can't over that in 2022, Capcom was like "Here's a video game about a short haired redhead fighting dinosaurs...it's not Dino Crisis." Honestly, I think at this point they should go the spectacle fighter route like when they decided that Devil May Cry wouldn't be a good Resident Evil game. Just give us high octane action with characters fighting dinosaurs.

With like two modes, one history mode, alike DC1, and then a sort of Arcade alike mode, alike DC2, plus online, bulding teams, increasing guns, trading stuff between players. If DC1 gets remaked it should ditch most of the puzzles, have the starting part n bunch of sections taking place in the jungle. Always prefer DC1 even to this day, DC2 was fun but over way too soon for me. My lil brother has always been the opposite between those two games.

The reason they didn’t do 3d is because it didn’t look good, which is why they ended up going for pre rendered back grounds, so they could save the polygons for the characters items and enemies

Hearing about Capcom changing Dino Crisis 3 because of a terrorist attack reminds me of the story Noah Gervais told about them changing one of the Resident Evil spinoffs to remove the light gun out of respect for the victims of the Columbine shooting. One of my first and one of my favourite games I got on the PS1 even though those frigging letter puzzles made me want to throw the console out of the window. Then the sequel turned out to be a bloody great action arcade game. If we do get a remake why not do what the remake of resi 2 did and cherry pick the best bits of all the games? A T-Rex stalking round the facility like 2, take the underwater section as well, a nice tight panic horror game with the over the shoulder perspective. Blend the facility and ruined town idea. Hell even throw in a crazy A. I to tip the hat to 3. When the series is this bonkers why not just go for broke?

The original RE games are janky too, that's what's good about getting a remake, you get the game back but with modern gameplay sensibilities. I've seen people saying they want a remake of 1 in the style of RE 2 & 3 which makes sense considering it's origins.
