These Dragon War vids have been fun. Every time i think i have a good grasp on the lore, you absolutely school me on some aspect. I had totally forgotten about DeathFire for example and the huge impact he had. Thanks!

Huma and Heart fuck yeah! I'm playing a game in a campaign setting that's half Eberron and half Dragonlance, and dragons are a big god damn deal. My character is on a path that'll probably end with him as a dragon rider with gold a dragon follower. Huma is one of the main inspirations for how I portray this character. Your videos are really cool man, love the narration style. I always admired Dragonlance from afar, having some surface level knowledge at most, and your videos are helping me go several layers deeper. Next step will be buying the D&D Dragonlance books then the novels.

I just finished dragons of destiny and was wondering how would you approach this video, considering how many conflicting sources are there now. Great handling of a confused situation! I enjoyed both novelization of Huma's story, but in my opinion it should have remained a "background information", an in-world tale, as it originally was. I feel that showing it, thus making it more concrete, it lose some of the magic it has.

Yea, I tend to agree. But I am also excited for more DL novels.

Personally, I prefer Legend of Huma version of the story. I am very fond of Kaz and I felt very let down by his exclusion from the Deatiny Trilogy.

That’s fair. Kaz was a great character.

Just out of curiosity, did anyone else pronounce Krynn so it rhymes with brine? I think I pronounced it that way for at least a year or two before I finally heard it spoken 😶

I pronounce all sorts of Dragonlance words strangely, so I am not one to call anyone else out :)

Right now I'm about halfway through the Destiny books. I really don't like it that much, although the second book is a bit better than the first. The legend of Huma was a really nice legend. Reliving it with known characters and twisting the story felt unnecessary to me. I could have gone without another timetravelling plot as well. I absolutely dislike Destina as a character so far. The attachment with Tas and her chapechanging felt forced. And I remember being rightfully angry, when she started to think bad about Sturm, because he inspired her father to give his life. That felt unsolamnic in universe and on a personal level I was appalled, that this character had the audacity to dislike on of the og heroes. And I didn't like the idea of ripping Raistlin and Sturm out of 'retirement'. It felt a lot like memberberries to me, to be fair. I also didn't get, why they sometimes seemed to know what happened in their life, but sometimes they didn't. Seeing Raislin again as a level 2 wizard felt underwhelming as well. Oh, and the Artificer character Alice breaking the 4th wall again and again ('never split the party') didn't humor me at all. Sorry for ranting 😂

I totally get it. If it’s any consolation, I think the third novel is the best in the trilogy.
