One thing that I like about the dinosaur mimicking the word “open” is that it means it observed humans (or killed enough humans trying to escape it) long enough to understand that humans would associate the word “open” with the door. It’s like how dogs know “sit” means to sit down, even though they don’t know English, but recognize the sound of the word and that it’s associated with sitting.

I remember the only reason I saw the last Jurassic World movie was because the dinosaurs had escaped into the rest of the world- as in, beaches and suburban neighborhoods, frickin EVERYWHERE- and I was so excited to see what that would look like. Of course, we got like two seconds of it at the beginning and then it turned into some weird message about saving the dinosaurs (cue Michael Crichton rolling in his grave). This unfiction series is so, so awesome for not only doing what those movies failed to do, but turning up the horror element because holy crap, this would be the most terrifying thing on Earth. Also the dinosaurs that mimic human speech are effing scary. Nonhuman things mimicking human speech scares the everliving daylights out of me. Gives me the creeps- in the best way.

The rumbling Tyrannosaurid has been confirmed by Archesuchus in an out-of-story comment to be a _Zhuchengtyrannus magnus_ (a Chinese cousin of T. rex) rather than an actual proper _Tyrannosaurus rex,_ though the distinction would likely matter little to anyone being chased by it. Additionally, Mikey is a proper _Microraptor gui_ (fossilized feathers tell us they were iridescent black like modern crows), and the smaller dinos that were fighting over the neighbor child's leftover foot might actually be the babies of the "Deinonychus". UPDATE EDIT: the main dinosaur that started this thread, the one most think is a Deinonychus, is actually an unknown/fictional species of large Troodontid, which is why they're so dang smart & able to mimic voices like corvids (Troodontids have the largest brain to body size ratios of any known non-avian dinosaur, so much so that it's commonly believed that if the KT extinction event hadn't occurred at least one species of Troodontid would've eventually evolved human-level intelligence).

Also that “ t-rex back shot” was actually the shot of a sauropod, further proving my acrocanthosaurus predictions, also DM muted, love ur vids!, also that dino in MI is a proceratosaurs I believe, either that or guanlong, also, I have a feeling depending on where these portals open up, dinosaurs from those regions will appear, so for example if it was in South America, carno and pagotitan would show up, but in Montana T rex and trike would show up, that’s just my theory anyways.

This series is refreshing to see! I’m so happy that talented people, driven only by their love for the craft, are doing what Hollywood won’t. A authentic dark story that shows the wider public what can be done with modern interpretations of these animals instead of what we’ve all seen. Make no mistake, I’m as much of a JP fan as the next guy, but can’t we just say with complete confidence that the rinse and repeat action heavy creature features are dominating the market? *Before the edgy awesomebros come at me, let me clarify that I’m not talking about the creature design quality, I adore seeing prehistoric animals being designed both as modern animals and 90’s style Chaos Effect monsters. I’m just referring the types of stories dinosaurs are featured in.* While I’m pretty certain the ‘Deinonychus’ as the community calls it is correct, I like to believe it is a Dakotaraptor and the remaining ‘raptors that attack Arch in the climax are sub adults or juveniles of various age and size. Totally headcanon, but it’s fun. Can’t wait to see how Arch tackles the rest of the series.

Also I don’t think you would worry about calling the big dinosaur a t. Rex, is a fair assumption to make given that it is the best known big bipedal dinosaur (theropod), and they all look mostly the same. The photo Arch’s friend send him might be of a Dilophosaurus given the head crest, which if is correct it’s Horrifying, those beast are big, bigger than the ones Arch is dealing with. And one last thing! The video uploaded to KZbin, that one is interesting because is not like the mimicry the dinosaurs in arch neighborhood have been doing, the last words of its victims, it feels like casual conversation heard in passing, which could mean this things have been just passively observing for a while.

the part where it keeps saying “daddy” and “it’s ok” is fricking horrifying, not to mention is trying to mimic someone saying “help, somebody, somebody”
@Dipstikk11 ай бұрын
It's cool to see mimicry used to such horrifying effect. I had a similar idea, and i think of that fucking bear from Annihilation when I think of mimicry used to lure prey. Anyway, this would make an excellent miniseries. It would be such a treat to see accurate dinosaurs in a setting that suited them and got to show them off without sacrificing realism.

The issiue with Twitter horror is the fact that somehow the person surviving can not contact help or other information

This is some of the coolest shit ive ever seen! It gives me a lot of ideas about dinosaurs in the modern day and I want to thank you for spreading the good word of Mikey!

Crackpot theory, what if this is literally the plot of Dino Squad where the main dude causing this is just a dinosaur pretending to be a human and is trying to bring back his species and wipe out every other animal.

This is what Jurassic World Dominion should've been 💯

I believe that the large therapod might be a Acrocanthosaurus since it lived in the early Cretaceous period with the microraptor and deinonychus or maybe it is a tyrannosaurus and I’m taking this to seriously

The large window creature is most likely Quetzalcoatlus or anothet large azdarchid pterosaur, in one of the child draeing you can see both small birds and a large one, the small one is most likely the anurognathid that was on Archs sliding door perched (the lil round guy), and the window one is the large one, i also believe that the thing on top of his house on one post was it rather than a Deinonychus

I think the funniest thing about this is how on the original image someone pointed out another pair of “eyes” in the background and asked “Oh is that supposed to be another one of the creatures?” And Arch said something like “Oh shit”

On one hand, I really want to see dinosaurs in real life like what they actually lived and looked like what their behaviours were not just theories, but on the other hand dinosaurs are fucking terrifying because they can realistically do this shit that’s another thing. I also like about this series is that it’s very accurate of what Dinosaurs Were capable of, from what we understand

the way Im interpreting it is that this is an AU where dinos were never on earth, this is a modern day humanity where they just appeared out of thin air and are now clashing to live together, like jurassic world but unintentional or hidden from the public, which is why I liked you referring to them as monsters and MC referring to them as such as well because they don't know what a "dinosaur" is, kinda like walkers and zombies

18:38 as a paleo fan, this immediately brings up Proceratosaurus vibes. If you don't know, cut it short; Proceratosaurus is a distant, but way smaller relative of Tyrannosaurus.

When you said it was huge & made a low, deep rumble, TRex is the first thing I thought of. There's a strong theory that's what they sounded like!
