I've been crying, but then I realized that he's finally at peace. He is no longer suffering from the agonizing pain of addiction. He struggled and tried so many times to get clean. and everytime he relapsed, he'd get back up and try again to get clean. That takes a lot of strength and determination! God saw this beautiful man trying so hard, but God also saw what we couldn't- he was tired, he gave all he could, and never quit, but now it was time for him to be with God, where he could finally find peace. May you Rest in Peace Earl for all eternity! Go with your Grandma. There are no more burdens on your shoulders, no more pain. You are free.

Randomly stumbling on this video on Instagram some moments ago brought me here today, and made me realize how much of a sore spot X's passing still is for me. As someone who've always loved this man's music, the flawed but beautiful soul behind his words and essence, and as someone who holds a lot of empathy for his sad life story, his passing hurt like I lost a dear elder brother. I never understood how one could feel that much for someone they never even met in life, let alone know, but I mourned Earl Simmons foe days. His pictures, videos and voice became triggering, bittersweet memories. And from these comments here that I've been endlessly scrolling through, I see I'm not alone. People in comment sections like this is one reason I still solidly believe there's still a lot of good in the world, no matter how dark it gets. And I want to pray that everyone of you here in these comments whose words have been so moving that I'm now finding it a bit hard to stop reading, be blessed with unconditional love, peace and joy in your own lives. Either you've been here in the past, here now, or in the future, I hope X's music continue to be a part of lives and remind us that the best thing we'll ever experience on this side of existence is LOVE. For those going through one thing or the other, may the universe find you some comfort, healing and respite. And if you're alright, may you continue to be happy and grateful. God bless you 🙏

DMX for life! In 2000 I picked up a recorded tape of DMX off my high-school hallway floor and stuck it in my portable tape player, and that's all it took. Never looked back. Learned everything about the man in a few days and had every album on CD by 2003. Just hitting high school 😂perfect

DMX The realist most down to earth rapper to ever hold the Mic, he never lied, snitched, or back stabbed anyone, this man stayed true to himself, and true to hip hop. He was one of the ones who spoke the truth about how underhanded & fowl the industry is. X never sold himself out to gain ultimate fame or popularity. He stayed true to himself and was always comfortable in his own skin whether it was during his bright days or dark days, DMX was DMX that's what you got all day 24-7 from him. He wasn't all about being flashy, throwing money around, the fancy cars, big mansions. That shit never mattered to him..X' was a very smart man in more ways than people would rather give him credit for. He has his place in history, & in everybodys heart...Simply he kept it real for the realist people who be living the realist life...what i admired the most about DMX he never forgot where he came from, & he was his own man...🙅

As far as I'm concerned, when Nas and Jay-Z went at each in the late 90s and early 00s, trying to claim the title of 'King of New York', the dog claimed the throne as the biggest star. (I'm not a New Yorker though, so maybe their consensus is different)

@Big Steppe Don't worry about X, he is saved through out Lord and saviour, Jesus Christ. Just as He himself promised. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. (John 1:14) Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet he shall live. (John 11:25) Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. (John 14:6) But if I do them, even though you do not believe me, believe the works, that you may know and understand that the Father is in me and I am in the Father. (John 10:38) Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I am. (John 8:58) Yet for us there is one God, the Father, from whom are all things and for whom we exist, and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things and through whom we exist. (1 Corinthians 8:6) To them belong the patriarchs, and from their race, according to the flesh, is the Christ who is God over all, blessed forever. Amen. (Romans 9:5)^ When Jesus had spoken these words, he lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, “Father, the hour has come; glorify your Son that the Son may glorify you, since you have given him authority over all flesh, to give eternal life to all whom you have given him. And this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent. I glorified you on earth, having accomplished the work that you gave me to do. And now, Father, glorify me in your own presence with the glory that I had with you before the world existed. (John 17:1-17:5) This was why the Jews were seeking all the more to kill him, because not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but he was even calling God his own Father, making himself equal with God. (John 5:18) “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it (John 1, 1-5) When I saw Him, I fell at His feet like a dead man. And He placed His right hand on me, saying, “Do not be afraid; I am the first and the last, and the living One; and I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of death and of Hades. (Revelation 1:17-8) “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” (Revelation 1:8) “Thus says the Lord, the King of Israel and his Redeemer, the Lord of hosts: ‘I am the first and I am the last, And there is no God besides Me. (Isaiah 44:6) “Listen to Me, O Jacob, even Israel whom I called; I am He, I am the first, I am also the last. (Isaiah 48:12) All in all - Don't worry about X. Jesus has been working through him his whole life, and he's with Jesus right now, there is no doubt. He's saved, just like he was promised he would be, 2000 years ago. "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you." (Matthew 7:7)
