Scrubs creator/showrunner Bill Lawrence also helped develop/produce/run Ted Lasso. You can definitely see his impact on the humor in both. Roy Kent (Brett Goldstein) is a writer on the show. Bill Lawrence and Brett Goldstein are also creators/writers/producers on Shrinking - which you should check out after you finish Ted Lasso.

One thing to be on the look out for through all three seasons of the series is references to The Wizard of Oz. There are a bunch of them starting out with Ted say "We're not in Kansas anymore" in the pilot episode and Keeley being a lion for that photo shoot in one of the first episodes. There is also a lot of discussion online about which Ted Lasso Character is a representation of which Wizard of Oz character. I won't say anymore because I don't want to spoil anything for you, but it can be a lot of fun to try to speculate and uncover the writer's intentions regarding this.

@@tarasierralee To avoid spoilers for the content creators and anyone else that might be here that hasn't seen the show I am not going to openly discuss it here. Do a google search or two; there is a lot out there about this. MILD SPOILERS BELOW I will say this; the biggest speculation is around who are the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Lion. There are clear references to the Tin Man being Roy, the Scarecrow being Nate, and the Lion being Keeley. This is further evidenced by each of their own personal journey and ultimate personal goal at the end of the show. Roy is looking for love; hence, he is the Tin Man looking for a heart. Keeley wants the courage to strike out on her own; hence, she is the lion. Nate struggles with bringing his ideas forward and with imposter syndrome; hence, he is the scarecrow (plus in season 1 he talks about a dream where he is being pecked by crows).
