While doing it my dealer scratched the windshield. 🤬 I don’t know about anyone else but she’s my baby I noticed this stuff. Take the time to be careful Harley techs!

I followed your troubles with this motorcycle. I’m very confident that you got a brand new bike with a brand new “bad Battery.” We have all been through something like this. Get a new part, put it on your car, truck, bike etc and it’s a bad part. Had your bike not had a bad battery, you wouldn’t have had any of those electrical issues. Sounds like the motor co did you solid. Yes the dealer didn’t diagnose the problem the first time and then compounded the problem by not putting it in trailer mode. A little painful inconvenience for you but, I’m completely confident you will stay happy going forward.

I test rode the '23 & the new '24 RG a few days ago. Currently I ride a '14 Goldwing and was just curious. While the H-D is a completely different ride, it was real nice although I hated the bars on the '23 (turned in) but they felt better on the '24, albeit those 12" mini apes were much higher than I'm use to. The sport mode was fun, but quite honestly if I needed to pass someone, it's still easier to drop a gear and goose the throttle than switch to sport from road mode. The 117" M8 has got plenty of power, but it's a touring bike, not a drag bike. Lastly, the liquid cooled heads are a great addition to that air cooled V-Twin, but your leg will still get warm in traffic. Bottom line: they wanted $33K before tax, freight, title, etc. and they'd give me under $10K for my Goldwing. I'd be financing over $25K at somewhere between 5-7% ...no effing way! I'll keep my paid off Goldwing that provides more comfort with its heated grips & saddle, a tour pack, way more weather protection with a functional windscreen and a fairing.

I own a 2023 Indian Pursuit. It’s hard to avoid hearing about the new Road Glide. I test rode the new 2024 Road Glide to see what the hype was all about. First thing I noticed was the small size of the rider floorboards and the angle of those floorboards. They are way smaller than my Pursuit floorboards. Add on a heel shifter and your foot is locked into place. No thanks. Second thing I noticed was the suspension. I hit some bumps that would have been soaked up nicely by my Pursuit. The Road Glide jarred my back pretty bad. I was shocked honestly. The short and non adjustable windshield looks great but it is pretty much worthless for anyone wearing a half helmet and I’m only 5’9”. The audio system was super weak, as in, I couldn’t even hear it when the volume was all the way up at 70mph. The audio system on my Pursuit sounds way better. I only need to put my volume on 3 out of 11 and that’s plenty loud at speed. The positives. The engine RPM at 70mph is only 2,600,very nice (even though the redline is only 5,500rpm vs 6,500 on my Indian Pursuit. The bike did seem to handle pretty well while I was riding it. The handlebars were good as well. The engine isn’t nearly as strong as the Pursuits. It just isn’t. I’m just not sure what people are seeing with this new road glide. It doesn’t even come close to the power, suspension, handling or ergonomics of the Pursuit.
@myronmosley21677 ай бұрын
And the pursuit is heavier. A closer comparison would be the challenger. But what you said is a conversation people don’t want to have, because for most people it’s Harley or nothing, regardless of how inferior the bike may be, no matter how many thousands of dollars you have to spend in modifications after the initial purchase to get comparable performance to its stock competitors, Harley fanboys will say anything to justify their purchase.

Something is going on with the charging system. Battery dies if not charging for about 3 days. Head pipes shields are already turning blue so she’ll be going in for that also. Still can’t get matching passenger footboards and still can’t get an aftermarket windshield! I don’t like these shorty ones. These things will get sorted out eventually. Performance is great! Can you please clarify something on the 2024 street/roadglide? It's concerning the GPS. I know there's an option to pay $349 for three yrs. My understanding that is for "live" up to date weather and traffic. Is that the only GPS? I have a 2019 street glide special and it has the GPS and was wondering if the new bikes have what's on my 2019. Thanks.

I had the option of waiting a few months and buying the new 1300. Glad I didn’t do that. The last 4 vehicles I’ve bought were last year models of a Chevy, a Toyota, a Harley and now a BMW. Well BMW still made the 1250 GSAs this year until they come out with the 1300 GSAs. The recalls and bugs are usually fixed after 3-4 years of a new model. They don’t test em like they used to. Today, buyers are the ones doing the testing.

I understand all the benefits and modern conveniences but to me it translates to higher maintenance costs. I prefer simpler is better. Moreover, are you required to pay a monthly service fee to activate ABS and the other Ride Modes that are on the new model bike? If so, this might explain why the price of the bike is now slightly cheaper. My understanding is these Ride Modes are no longer "options" and cannot be removed from the bike at the time of purchase to reduce the sales price for features one may not want. Thus, you may have to pay monthly fee, after the purchase, to activate the Ride Modes or accept inoperable features which stay with the bike. P.S. The simple mistake which plagued your new bike, nonetheless, required lost hours, days, and weeks, etc before they discovered this "simple issue." I wouldn't want to think of how long it would take to figure out had it not been a simple issue.

Its probably true, but I would never test it either, risk vs reward. Your rear brake should be engaged to hold the bike from moving backwards while accelerating in 1st like we always have done. I looked it up and its feature is supposed to alleviate the rider to "free both hands" on a hill in neutral. Imagine forgetting you had that feature on another bike and rolling back into a car.

Anyone who doesn’t want safety features like lean angle ABS is smoking crack. $28k is the norm for a bagger for sure. Look at BMW and Ducati, a GS or Multistrada run $26k to $30k. Granted they are lower volume brands and build according. Harley is definitely higher volume so lower sales figures are going to take them sometime to adjust to. The guys who would buy new touring HD’s every few years are going to hold off longer with the higher prices and that will be difficult for HD.
