I definitely agree with the gen 6 mythicals. The game was already hinting at Alola because it had the relic thing from another region (don't quite remember what it's called) that turned out to be from alola. Also, weird side note, the NPC who gives you it talks about his region's pokemon champion, but alola didn't have a champion yet, because Sun and Moon take place after X and Y (we even meet characters from X&Y in them). I'd mostly chalk this up to them not having the story down fully

As of Mew being a gen 2 tease, I propose the following: Gen 1 was all about catching the 150 first Pokémon. Mew being a "secret" number 151 could be a tease of a "bigger" world with even more new Pokémon to be discovered.

Cool theory but what's been revealed to the public is that Mew was a late addition made by one of the programmers without asking anybody. And since "Mewtwo" is a play on "mutant" I even think there wasn't even intent to make Mew a real pokemon. Like they came up with the cool name Mewtwo, than laughed how it sounds like Mew-2, like if Mew was a thing, and than one of the developers were thinking like: "wait, we can make Mew a thing..."

There is of course the theory that Magearna was intended to be a gen 6 Mythical Pokemon, rather than a gen 7 one. Since it was in the Volcanion movie and all, and has those French references. I didn't touch on it in the video because that'd be a theory on top of a theory, and also it doesn't support it. 🙃 Magearna is after Necrozma in the dex, it's a gen 7 mythical. Legendaries and mythicals cross generations in movies all the time. Hoopa's, Genesect's, Zeraora's and Marshadow's movies for instance.

Thing is Nintendo has stated they use designs in future generations that they designed during past generations. Tirtouga is a Gen 5 pokemon, but pretty sure Nintendo said the original design came from a discarded Gen 1 design. The anime did show off a lot of later-gen Pokémon when the next one is on the horizon such as the trainer Harrison near the end of the Johto-arc, May owning a Munchlax, and a Weavile appearing on the opening of _Advanced Battle._ I don't count Misty's Togepi or Ho-oh as some Gen-II Pokémon were originally in the Gen-I roster before their removal.

You know I never thought of Zeraora as the "Za-Yellow" many were anticipating after Za Cyan & Za Magenta from Galar, but if the Furry Fox was leading into the next gen it does fit that pattern! I've always found Celebi reminds me of the lake guardians from gen 4, which is to say it's reasonable to argue that the mythical pokemon are a good indication of what GameFreak wants to explore for future games, and thus the early ones of Celebi and Mew you see connected to future games, while the later mythical pokemon not only indicate what the company wants to explore but also specific themes around new games.

There's also The Jungle Book a story of Mowgli, a child that was raised by animals and that takes place in India, the movie of Zarude is based on the story of a kid that was raised by Zarude, (pokemons like Sinistea and Cufant are good exemples of this). This could also be a reference to Tarzan, that was raised by apes like Zarude, this story takes place on west Africa, another place that is on a new continent and that was colonized by Europeans (British colonized Nigeria)(In Galar we can see Rillaboom, a gorrila pokemon that uses a percussion instrument that looks like a Djambe, a west african instrument).

Galapagos might be the best idea for a region I’ve heard, there could be so many different forms in one place (multiple regional variants in one region?). I think an Amazon type region would be cool, but could be similar to hoenn. Gen I & II had a fair few things about it that implied that a lot of II's mechanics were going to be in gen I, such as the last-second dummied out pokemon that caused many of gen I's glitches, how one can visit Kanto in gen II, or the beta pokemon that included a baby for Zubat and Meowth. Not to say Mew couldn't have been properly redesigned before at least international release to fit, more that at least Gen I's mythical Pokemon would have the weakest link to suggest Gen II mechanics.

@@apollogarvan9446 Gen II games allowed you to go to Kanto for a specific reason: the team sucked at programming and were so far behind they would've had to actually delay the game because it was that far unfit for purchase. Iwata of Nintendo went over to save their butts, and optimized the game so well, there was enough space to put all of Kanto on the cartridge, so they did so to beef out the game and ship it out on time. Gen II introduced breeding and the day night cycle. There's many other baby pokemon they were going to introduce, but probably were cut for tine restraints. Vulpix was another that was meant to have one.

Something I haven’t seen talked about much is that the games have been testing the water with open world type stuff, starting with the wild area, legends Arceus, and soon Gen 9, I think that instead of Zarude being a symbol of forest, I see it as a symbol of the wild. It roams free throughout the rain forests, just like how hopefully pokemon will roam free in the overworld in Gen 9

After watching this, especially the Zarude part, it would seem that the next region could very well be an Indian region. As the similarities of Zarude and things from India have been pointed out, it made me thing about the fire type zodiac theory. Since there was an ox and they are similar to cows it made me remember that in India cows are holy animals, so gen 9 could very well be India based.

Tbh, I would love the next region of Pokemon to be based on Australia so we can get more marsupial based Pokemon and ones that aren't just based off of marsupial mothers. One I'd love to see for a fossil Pokemon of Australia would be a Thylacine or Tasmanian Tiger Pokemon being how they are "extinct". But in all actuality, I just want more marsupials in Pokemon

Well, we have Komala, but an Australian region will have other marsupial-based species-ones based on the wombat, possum, Tasmanian devil (yes, they actually exist), kangaroo (I don't count Kangaskhan as one), wallaby and the bandicoot. The problem with an Australian region is the fact that Australia is a continent that's bigger than the contiguous U.S.A. so you'd have to pick a small area to base the region on. Obvious choices include Tasmania, Melbourne and surrounds, Sydney and surrounds, and Brisbane and surrounds. There are plenty of other animals to make Pokémon from including the swooping devil bird known as the Australian magpie (Dark/Flying is an obvious choice of type), platypus, superb lyrebird (possibly a regional variant of Chatot), funnel web spider, blue-ringed octopus, inland taipan (possibly an evolution of a regional variant of Ekans), blue heeler dog, cassowary, emu, cone snail…the list is quite large.
