​@@liam601yt Snowball Ice owner here. When using the default tripod (like the video above), the snowball Ice picks up kb&m sounds and even the smallest vibrations on the desk. You don't hear it in this video because he did a good job of avoid them (putting arms on table gently, not bumping into the table, not pressing keys frantically, etc.) He also probably went back and cut out all of the bad sounds in post processing. With that being said, using this mic in the way he is using it would not be ideal next to a keyboard. I spent a little extra money on a boom arm with a shock mount and it fixed those issues. Great usb mic for the price but to really sound good in a gaming environment, you'll want to spend the extra coin. There are some cheap boom arm alternatives that work well! Hope this helps!

Hey ya, I'm getting ready to start streaming on Twitch. I got a Blue Snowball iCE because it was on a bunch of lists of top "entry level" streaming equipment. Thanks for the tutorial! A nice trick I've found recently to complement this setup, you can combine VB audio to pickup the input from Nvidia RTX Voice's virtual to remove background noise.

Your one of the few KZbinrs I've seen with a real blue snowball, alot of other people have fake bluesnowballs off of Amazon that use the wrong USB cord and have a circle box around the word snowball instead of it being square.

You're probably thinking of the differences between the Snowball and Snowball iCE... I doubt there's counterfeit $50 mics going around.

@@jasonrtech you may be right but all I know is blue has never revised the snowball or snowball ice, if you order one of the official website you will get one with a USB Type b cable and if you order off Amazon you get one with different back designs and USB type mini b. Just weird that resellers or private sellers are selling completely different versions from the original

Thanks so much for the video, even though it's 'old' to you it's still useful to us ^^. I love my headset mic, it's not bad for the price but It came time for me to upgrade without spending too much, and the ice was the best option. However, I wanted to see a review/tutorial on how it would be during streaming and if there are even options to be able to tweak live recordings. You answered everything in this video and gave raw footage + You included a tutorial on how to tweak the mic during live recordings, which is super helpful to have it all in one! So thank you :) I've just ordered the microphone and got a clip on cheap pop filter to help it along a little more.

This is basically how you would set up an aux mic with an audio interface. You blue snowball --> the mic that is going to be going into the audio interface Virtual Meeter --> the audio interface Virtual Audio Cable --> the output that sends the sounds to your device

If you are livestreaming, and you're using obs for example. They have all this stuff already built in to the program. You dont need any programs to do it except for obs. So basically what you're saying is that the blue snowball ice is actually really good. It may just need some adjusting based on your volume and background noise. Which is normal procedure for any mic out there.

Another nice mic eq tuner is equalizer apo + peace gui, you can change the audio from lows to highs, and is pretty simple to use.

Yes, open the programs go to voice settings and select the voiceaudio cable as your default microphone. After that, do a voice test and it should be working.

Your playback default shouldn't change from what it was before, and honestly the recording default doesn't matter either since your streaming service should let you pick it manually.

I installed the programs and went through your tutorial but mine isn't working correctly. I am in voicemeeter and in hardware out there isn't an option for the exact output you chose, only "MME: Voicemeeter Input". The audio coming out is just a very loud reverb noise. Helppp

It's anything that pulls audio from the virtual input, so if you set Discord to treat that as your mic, then you'll get those realtime edits on there too 👍🏼
