Many thanks for the insightful and mind-expanding discussion. Regarding on the topic of BFR: imo one way to use 'metabolic stress' to explain why BFR works for hypertrophy by creating a supraphysiological state (not sure if the term is used correctly but oh well 😂), by severely occluding/restricting circulation to the working muscle, thus causing a (sort of) supercompensation effect. This is a speculation based the vague (and probably oversimplified or even incorrect) understanding that the body tends to 'freak out' when a supraphysiological state is imposed upon it. This may relate to the application of "Finishers" (purported to exploit the 'metabolic stress' side of hypertrophy), in that such protocols attempt to create the same 'supraphysiological' condition to illicit the (supposed) effects of metabolic stress; however, they would run into the same challenges faced by Drop Sets/Short Rest intervals (that you guys have discussed), i.e. the discomfort. Would love to hear your take on this 🙏

Hey. Nice video, thank you! I have another question for you: ist IT possible for the body to redistribute muscle protein from one muscle to another muscle? For instance, If you are Just training upper Body while neglecting your lower body entirely and not eating enough protein, too. Does the body then redistribute (if all the other protein demands for the immune system and so on are met) protein from the leg muscles to the upper body?
