how I look at it, it’s a perfectly valid headcanon to have them set in the same universe. I don’t think that’s the intention at all but there’s little to prove/disapprove. I suppose if I had to choose I would say it probably isn’t connected. I mean if they are connected Robin has had a really big change in character in the two years between joining Batman and leading the Titans, but it’s nothing that can’t be explained away.

My headcanon is that after the finale of The Batman Season 4; Robin grew up and out of Batman’s shadow. He eventually moved to Jump City to fight crime on his own. That’s where his story begins and his story ends as Nightwing. The rest is up to us to decide what happens.

It's strange because in the episode "artifact" of The Batman, takes place in the future, where Nightwing, Oracle and old man Batman exist-- blah, blah. Nightwing looks like Robin Teen Titans. Also, in that same episode old Freeze is trying to use a machine, can't remember what it did, but something along the lines of having harsh blizzards all year long. Seeing that that episode is inspire from The Dark Knight Returns, The Mutant leader exist. If you remember in the episode where Starefire goes into the future, you'd see some teenagers dressed up as part of the Mutant Gang. MEANING, where Starefire traveled to a different time-line where Freeze did manage to create all year long blizzards, because we see snow in Jump City, not just in Gotham. So, who knows. If the two shows are in the same universe itt could open up a lot of doors. Like who could be Red X? Maybe it could be Scorn, Wrath's sidekick and brother. Who knew Robin's secret identity but was laugh-gassed by the Joker from revealing their identity.

I think this is canon. You can argue that the Wayne Enterprises depicted in The Batman could be one of multiple Wayne buildings in Gotham. The killer moth thing I can attribute that to maybe moth went to Langston and had him make a serum to turn him into a moth man. As for Robin’s age, my headcanon is that he’s like 12-14 in The Batman and he’s 17-18 in Teen Titans (he has a line about graduating high school in the Mad Mod episode). And imo if you look at that bumper you mentioned in the video, I think the art styles of the two shows go together quite nicely.

Personally, I like to think Teen Titans connects back to The Batman if for no other reason than to make up for how rushed and anti-climactic the ending of The Batman was after an otherwise pretty solid show. Teen Titans being so disconnected without any major contradictions makes it a plausible sequel series even without any direct link back. Given Robin is said to be in middle school during his entire time in The Batman, I figure he's 10 or 11 at his introduction, and about 12 or 13 by the end of that show, and Teen Titans could be 5 years or so after that, giving more time for him to mature and hone his skills with Batman before going out and working with the Titans in Jump City. That amount of time also means Killer Moth could have plausibly reduced the severity of his mutation by then, hence the different, less monstrous look. He somehow, absolute weenie that he was, already had his kid in The Batman, and she was about Robin's age, just never mentioned in his appearance there. That, or it's just a different Killer Moth who the other guy in The Batman was impersonating before being mutated.

Killer Moth actually does turn into a moth mutant in an episode of the Batman. Except I feel like the two moths have completely different personalities. The Batman moth was more of a wimpy, villain wannabe, Teen Titans moth was an actual brilliant mastermind. I think it would make more sense if the two moths where simply different characters. Heroes and villains passing on mantles is pretty common, so its not that far of a stretch two Killer Moths exist in the same universe. And I think I remember Batman mentioning the Titans at the end of the finally as well.

Could be different moth themed villains that happened to choose the same name, I know it’s not the best head canon but if there can be god knows how many ice based villains there can be to moth based villains and with killer “Insert word here” being a very stereotypical villain name they both could have got there

Considering Killer Moth did actually mutate in The Batman into a more monstrous form, I like to think the Teen Titans version is sort of the aftermath of that mutation, kind of like he found some kind of genetic middle ground. Still, this is just a situation of both shares sharing an art style honestly, but I do like the idea that they share the same universe.

I find it funny that the only character in the main JLU roster who made an appearance in Teen Titans was Wally West, and that the only reason he was allowed was a loophole on him going by Kid Flash that apparently made him a different character. With that same loophole, I'm surprised they didn't have TT make him become Nightwing(aside from the time travel episode) to allow The Batman to use Robin earlier. Seems like it would have gone full circle to the comics with how the behind the scenes reason he became Nightwing was so Jason could be Batman's new Robin without confusing readers.

You might be correct in thinking the two shows are in the same universe and perhaps they are in the same universe but in a separate timeline of that universe or simply a style change decision like in Batman TAS and Batman TNA series being the same continuity but definitely styled. The creators of Batman TAS & TNA explained the differences in costumes, villains and other characters are still in the same continuity. Many youtubers tried to debunk it but came to the conclusion that Bruce Timm wasn't joking. The differences between the Joker's appearances really caught me off gaurd but finding out they are in the same continuity was wild. Hope this helps.

It makes sense. In The Batman, Robin went from a Spider-Man style joke machine to a more series Teen Titans roll. The way Robin fights from both shows is similar. In TT, the way Robin moves is so similar to The Batman in style. Barbara also is a spitting image of Starfire, so you can tell he has a "type". The T-Cycle too on both shows is very similar. Also Batgirl was orginally her own self made sidekick in the 04 show. Robin when he got older thought he could have done the same.

That press release may be based on old information and may not be considered canon information, especially since that same kit states that he uses a "high tech utility belt" which he doesn't. It was more like a description of the original comics version. Killer Moth was very likely a mutant moth man in the show. The way he crawled on walls and the way he roared was not human.

Then Tim Drake and everything leading to the events that shape Beyond happen. TT And The Batman could be in the same universe, but neither are possible for the DCAU. Which is good in my opinion because holy fuck how depressing is that universe for Batman. TT Robin could very well grow up becoming Batman like the first Dick Grayson did. He isnt in Bruce's shadow, has his own team and space and is flourishing. None of the bad stuff from DCAU can touch him or The Batman Bruce.

More or less, that seems to be correct, Extreme Ethys. The show was sort of treated ambiguously as far as its continuity goes, but the evidence does suggest that it was tenuously part of the DCAU. The reason they didn’t come out and directly say it (except for a bonus feature in a Superman: The Animated Series DVD including Teen Titans among the shows to spawn out of the DCAU continuity established by Batman: The Animated Series and STAS), though, is not because they “couldn’t,” but seems to be more just because they didn’t really want to concern themselves with working out the nitty gritty details of how exactly it fit into the continuity, despite planting connections nonetheless.

He's usually way laid back, but there are several versions where he's angsty for a year or two after he's replaced

Speaking of Nightwing I know some will say both look completely different. To that I say it’s difference not only in art style but also timelines. In TT the disappearance of Starfire in an alternate future caused Robin to become Nightwing earlier while in TB it could assumed it happened later with Starfire sticking around.

One interesting side effect is that Barbara isn't de-aged the way she was in B:TAS. Yeah, a lot of your bat-conventions began in B:TAS.

I was wondering why Teen Titans wasn't around more but whenever I look into it it's always a rabbit hole of vague continuity. The problem with connecting all shows is trying to explain what everyone else is doing. Comic continuity pretty much means nothing as things like the The Batman Animated series who will invent major characters like Harley Quinn and do their own unique plotlines. Then there's that whole thing with Robin being mistaken for 2 other Robins because they literally couldn't decide at one point to connect them. Then I look at the shows story compared to the comic book run and all it really missed was Kid Flash and Jericho (Major Villian who body snatches via eye contact). They pretty much do everything and more for Teen Titans. It is a shame we couldn't see them as full fledge super heroes but the show did so much and we got a great movie. I blame the general misuse of the characters and stories in the comic industry for not coming up with a continued series. Like they want to have many different flavors of the same characters to appeal to as many people as possible with different and unique stories but at the same time be a slave to continuity and ensnare storylines that could really flourish on there own. But then get bogged down by arbitrary decisions restricting characters and plotlines. It's so bizzare to work for DC and Marvel specifically in the animated world.

Multiverses Arc reflects similar features and concepts. Every aspect is a simple question are they identical yes subject to the Earths they share identical origins except for their ages or looks at the time. Robin's never the same person because of Dick Grayson but the many versions of him in similar variants. Robin's through the looking-glass an interesting thing that separates him from all the other versions is his style of fighting and training from the variants of Batman who have different styles of teaching in the multiverse of things. Modes of Robin's and possibly sped of skills in their respective realities Grayson is fast thinking and technical faster than another version of himself and other Robin's. Being Robin in any universe is technical the someone however there's something else they've different in mental conditioning over his course of development. Why isn't Robin in some stories because of doing a mission for Batman or forming a team of teenage heroes and that why Batgirl fills in? JL animated series never has Robin in or Titans well I recall Batman saying to Wonder Woman something about the Titans can handle the Earth while we of the world once. And Batman Beyond interestingly mentioned the Titans in an episode?

I know this is old, but damn does this video, other videos on this theory, and the back and forth debates in the comments section prove just why DC isn't as successful as Marvel. The DC multiverses are such a headache figure out and understand, even when it seems so obvious. The Marvel multiverses are much more organized, consistent, and more convenient to understand. Unless we're talking X-Men though. lol! DC is convoluted, all over the place, and difficult to understand. You'd think that two shows would be in the same universe just because they're the same artstyle, but nope. It's never that simple! Which is no wonder why DC has such a hard time keeping up with Marvel's huge success. A huge part of that has to do with DC being in constant panic with how to do what Marvel did but surpass that somehow. And fail every time, because DC keeps trying to rush things, and that dumb rule of theirs is also a big issue as to why they always fail. They're so dysfunctional, it's pathetic. This why they can never surpass Marvel. And this debate proves it!
