I am not a Nissan salesman or work for the company. But the Nissan Frontier is just a solid truck that is affordable, dependable, not full of useless features that drive up the cost, it also looks good. My first truck was a 1999 Nissan Frontier standard can with automatic transmission. It had a 4 cylinder. It was totaled at 38,000 miles. Never a single issue or known recall. Just oil change, air filters, and one set of tires. Few years later bought a used 2001 extended cab 4 cylinder, auto transmission frontier. It was a heavier truck and the 4 cylinder struggled a bit. Also the manual belt tensioners were tricky at times. But again just standard maintenance. But my luck, a hit and run totaled it 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ A friend of mine about 5 years ago purchased a brand new Frontier. Had 0 issues. There was a recall for faulty crankshaft position sensor. They changed it during a routine oil change and told her afterwards, it was of course no charge. I now have a 2007 Dodge Dakota 4 door. It's getting near 200,000 miles and showing some signs of wear. Love the Dakota and it's never failed me. But the Frontier is still priced for the average person who doesn't want to finance for 8 years at 900 a month. And I don't want some silly looking silly slicker truck with the word Raptor 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ that has a problem with the death wobble on the interstate. I realize the Frontier isn't designed to tow a 31ft triple axel trailer boat. But it's perfect for my needs.

That seems to be everyone's first impressions, but the more you look at it the more your realize that almost every detail on the new Frontier is borrowed and tweaked from the Titan. Similar grille, similar tailgate (minus the letter stamping), similar fender and bedside bulges, similar front window dip, same fog lamps, similar taillight shape, similar hood creases, even the way the lower bed corners swoop in towards the cab. The Frontier is essentially a mini-Titan that has been tweaked to give off a more chiseled and squared-off look, compared to the Titan's more streamlined and anatomical design. There are some elements that the Frontier doesn't borrow from the Titan, though. The Front bumper area, wheel well arches, the way the bottom of the rear side windows swoop up towards the back of the cab, and rocker panel design are all unique to the Frontier and not similar to the Titan.
@jldude843 жыл бұрын
We all know they took styling cues from a bunch of the competition. The headlights were influenced by Tacoma, the F-150's "chopped beltline" by the mirror, the tailgate was a straight up rip off of the F-150 the way the top of it protrudes back where the handle is, and the stamped letters (Ford and others have been stamping letters in tailgates since the '60s).

I bought the SV 2022 Frontier. I had a 06 Tundra, which of coarse was roomier. This 3.8 Liter V-6 310 Horsepower moves this truck quickly and smooth. The 9 gear transmission can be felt searching if you don’t get on out. Before you know it, your at 60 mph. The pricing in the different models and packages are clearly delineated. I driven a Nissan in the past for years then found my O6 Tundra 4.7. I only got 17-18 mpg. The Frontier is giving me much better fuel economy between 18-24 mpg. Overall, it’s a promising truck with all the power you need. The Tacoma has a weaker 3.5 L lazy engine. I got in Nissan and this 3.8 L doesn’t disappoint. You won’t be squeezed out trying to ramp onto interstate. You can shock folks blasting ahead on menacing drivers trying to block you on ramp.

My uncle had a 90 hardbody lifted from the dealership. It was a reliable beast. Had over 480,000 miles and still ran great when it was totaled on the 10 fwy. My 19 pro4x has been a great reliable truck also so far. I like what they did with the new frontier overall. Especially the front bumper skid plate. The new Frontier takes a page from the sales-leading Tacoma and betters it with a more rugged FULLY-BOXED FRAME, rear DISC BRAKES, an ALL-STEEL BED and more HORSEPOWER/TORQUE -- instead of the Tacoma's FLEXY OPEN C-CHANNEL frame, rear DRUM BRAKES and cheaper, weaker and crack-prone PLASTIC/FIBERGLASS composite bed (the latter which requires replacement as a whole when damaged). Note: The pricier Tundra is equipped with all those aforementioned things the Frontier has, but the cost-cutting Tacoma doesn't.

I now understand that Siverado'ish line that runs from the lower part of the headlight to the lower bumper. It is a subtle connection to the Hardbody and well done, IMO.

It's lucky to have a production truck.....translates to Nissan is having huge financial problems and probably wanted to keep the same truck for another 10 years HAHA. I really hope this is a home run for them. They desperately need it and I might be on board to buy one....no CVT? 310 HP? I'm in!

The one detail that gives me concern is the fender flares. The previous gen had them stamped into the sheet metal and as a result didn't give salt or debris anyplace to sit and that away the fenders. But hey, that's pretty minor. Beautiful design for sure!

The truck looks very nice! A winner for sure, however I wished they would offer the manual transmission version with 4 PRO X!!!
