Do you still call yourself a nurse?

I just say “I’m a retired nurse”. I still keep up my CEUs for my license, but am thinking of letting my license go this year. I am still and always will be a nurse.

I agree. I still include myself as a nurse; and continue to create content here - but I let my license to practice go

The thought came to mind that Doctors will always be referred to as Doctors even when they retire. So when I give up my license after 35 years, I think I’d like to be called a Nurse. ❤️

Yes, you're a nurse. Just not a registered nurse. My mother was a RN for 42 years. The last years of her life she let her registration laps, and she was still called a nurse by her nursing caregivers. She considered herself a nurse, and much of her eulogy involved her nursing

Ummmm yes!!!!! If a situation happens where you needed to be a nurse you would do it without question, so in my opinion as a Nurse to a Nurse, your always a Nurse.
