The report was made from the minor after a single prompt, Guy's using the fact they "Didn't do it sooner" as an excuse they didn't previously press charges. which isn't how a report works. It doesn't work via "only hindsight" The decision wasn't on "Did not constitute sexting" it was that it didn't involve pictures. It was considered sexual, court verdict. He was sexting, and he's super defensive with his words were "the texts were not illegal". Which can be true, but he still sexted and attempted to meet with a minor. Guy's legal defense was "It was a joke" and "She's actually legal" and "it's not illegal to text someone in sexual ways". The texts and "Legal defintion" was defended by a defense of the word "And" involving images. The texts that the jury looked over had a full court agreement that they were sexual. The lawyer used the anonymity of the minor to claim she was 'of legal age in their own county" which was not backed up in court. Guy admitted here that he attempted arbitration, this was denied 6 times before it was granted and the court went into favour for Guy, which is were it was settled via twitch. Guy is just an abuser, Pure trash, Wife hates him, kids hate him. Whats so fun about this is he’s not even correct about his definitions! “Minor” is not actually directly correlated with the age of consent. The term Minor is strictly defined by a given state’s Age of Majority, or when a person is LEGALLY considered a full-grown adult. The youngest of which in the states is 18, the oldest of which is 21. So REGARDLESS of the age of consent in the state this takes place in, so long as the individual was under 18 then he was, in any state in the USA, sexting(colloquially) a legal minor.

That's assuming that he was sexting, and the arbiter who was a judge, and mandatory reporter, local law enforcement also looked at the messages and in the arbitration it came out in Discovery that Twitch admitted internally that NOTHING sexual in nature had occurred. Now, there is one word that keeps popping up that I will 100% agree with- and that is the word inappropriate. However, if we're going to be throwing around legal definitions, I would be remise as an attorney to not point out that on multiple levels of both our court system, our law enforcement systems, and even Twitch as a company itself internally all recognize what communications that were made between the alleged victim was not sexting, or sexual in nature. Sharing sexually explicit messages, photos, or any other medium to/with a minor meets the standard of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, which is usually going to be a class 1 misdemeanor, with the potential of being enhanced to a felony rather easily. The fact that this was recognized as not illegal, and because this happened over an online platform (Which throws out the age of consent laws of any one state and applies the national standard of 18 as being the age of majority) it can be reasonably assumed that these messages didn't contain anything sexual in them. Given we all recognize that a 35 year old married man communicating with anyone that young even if they were in the age of majority as inappropriate- it can also be reasonably assumed that him admitting that it was inappropriate simply means he's applying a bare minimum standard to the communications as well; that standard being very few instances in which a man of his age, status, and following engaging with someone far younger would be inappropriate regardless of the context or substance of the messages themselves.

I don’t know if its exactly the same in the US as it is in my country of Canada but the age of consent only means jack within certain conditions. In Canada, the age of consent is 16 which means a 16 year old can consent to engage in sexual behaviour but only if there exists no relationship of trust, authority or dependency. The age of consent also doesn’t mean jackshit if the relationship is exploitative. In canada that would mean they would look at the young person’s age, the age difference between them, how the relationship developed ( for example: was it done secretly over the internet 😬) and whether the partner may have influenced the teen.

In what world would Twitch need to perform a legal analysis to cancel his partnership? They have their own internal guidelines, the law doesn't have to come into it. Clearly they found that he was using their services to inappropriately message a minor (someone under the age of majority, not under the age of consent). They were fully within their rights to cancel their partnership and I think they were completely correct to do so. If he has to pull in the technical, legal definition of sexting to defend himself and appeal to the fact that he never met up with the minor (because, as I understand it, Twitch caught it first) then he really seems to be riding the line of what is actually legal, nevermind inappropriate.
