Absolutely right! The vitamin C face serum and sun screen from litteleextra rice berry have really improved my skin. In the past 50 days, they're the only things that have helped me. I've already used up 1 bottle of each. With my sensitive, dry skin and my tendency to not do much for it, these have been a lifesaver. They feel lightweight and soak into my skin easily. My complexion appears brighter, more even, and younger. Even dark spots and acne scars are beginning to fade. My skin is noticeably smoother and better hydrated Now I'm excited to get a toner that suits well for my skin too.

Hi I have used Paula’s choice for about 5 years. I have acne prone & Hyperpigmentation prone skin. I have used the Clear 2% BHA & the Skin Perfecting 2% BHA. The main difference I have noticed between the 2 is that the Skin Perfecting formula has an ingredient in it ( Methylpropanediol I think may be the cause) that when you apply it to your skin you can feel the extra hydration in the formula and it gives a somewhat greasy and shiny look to the skin. So that formula could be best for someone with normal to dry skin in my opinion. I used for years the Clear 2% BHA formula as I have normal to oily skin and this formula does not have that greasy feeling when applied to my skin. I believe I like this formula better because it does not have the ingredient I listed above. Can you do a video just dedicated to all of Paula’s choice Exfoliants BHA/ AHA liquids, lotions, and gels. I’ve used their 2% BHA gel and lotion too and love it! As well as I use their BHA 9 for spot treatments. But I want your opinion on these products and the AHAs. Also, they recently came out with a Exfoliant Peel you are supposed to use once a week. It has 25% AHA + 2% BHA. I would love your thoughts on this as I have bought it already but have not used it yet. I love all your videos! ❤️ I’ve been binge watching as much of your videos as I can! I’m so glade I have come across your channel this past month, you have made me so much more knowledgeable about the products I am using on my skin. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us it’s greatly appreciated!

@peterjuliob.21362 жыл бұрын
@terra, yes! That’s correct, and thanks to this video and Dr. V I just discovered Clear 2% BHA, I was about to give up on the 2% BHA skin perfecting just because of that ingredient that makes my skin shiny and has the greasy component. For me “combo/oily” the Clear 2% will be perfect!!!!

@@preciouso8013 yes!! It sure does, at least for me and this is why this product is just a bestseller worldwide. I saw amazing changes to my skin in about a week! love this product and one of my holy grails! But if you’re oily/combo the “clear” version is definitely the way to go.

@Siberius-2 жыл бұрын
She was curious about the regular line vs the clear line (I didn't watch the whole video so maybe I'm missing something and you were talking about something else). The primary noticeable difference is that the regular line has this oily texture, whereas the clear line does not. So if one has oily skin already, they're not really going to enjoy the oily regular line as much as the Clear line.

Been watching Dr. V for the past few months and have learned so much!!! I can’t believe that as a WOC I never knew how gentle I had to be with my skin! I used to do so many bad things, like use pixi woo glo tonic twice a day and never reapply sunscreen!!! It’s crazy because I was listening to a lot of white skin care youtubers who were telling me to use glycolic acid, without the preface that it was burning my skin and irritating it. It helped for a little with my pigmentation (i have olive skin tone) but then the rebound hyperpigmentation would happen fast bc my skin would always burn everytime I use it. Now I use Paula’s choice 2% salicylic acid and Azealic acid to tackle acne and dark marks. Just started so haven’t seen drastic results, but my skin already feels healthier. I’m realizing that for skin of color, slow and steady (and gentle) wins the race. I can’t wait to see the results after three months of implementing what I’ve learned from Dr. V. Thank you!!!!!!

I would really love it if you could share a series on recommendations for makeup for acne and oily prone skin. Such as best and worst full coverage foundations and makeup removers and primers. Some suggestions for foundations brands are Mac, NARS, NYX , the ordinary, IT cosmetics. Also just wanted to say a big thank you for all that you do!

Dr v - I love how the 5+ syllable chemical compounds just roll off your tongue so easily! You are an inspiration with a gift to share your knowledge and I can't think of a trait that's more wonderfull (nb two Ls!). Personally I think you should consider finding a route into secondary education - you absolutely should be a STEM ambassador for young people. If this is on the radar already....then fab! If it's not, have a team member get on to it asap! x

I was going to post the same comment. While I appreciate the education more than anyone can imagine, it makes the learning experience so frustrating for those of us who can’t have distractions. People can always add background music when they are watching vids but I can’t edit it out.😅

Accidentally used Paula's AHA followed by her Paula's Retinol (back to back). Big mistake. Now I use AHA on one night and Retinol on the next night. Also learned the hard way to be sure to apply retinol on dry skin. So I started off my skin care routine with weeks of dry, burnt and peeling skin. Listen to the small details when watching these videos when starting with these products. Paula's AHA and BHA have helped tremendously!

I sampled the Origens Into the Glow Vitamin C Serum and was surprised how it lightened the back of my hand. So I bought it and it really lightened the huge hyperpigmentation patch on my cheek. I am sold. The ingredients listed is amazing. So I went back and bought two more bottles. The serum actually came with an eye cream and a gua sha tool so that is why I bought two more. However,, I believe that the vitamin C serum has helped tremendously along with Paula's Retinol, AHA, & BHA have helped reduce the hyperpigmentation significantly.

Hello Dr Rattan. Cud you share your thoughts on PHENOXYETHANOL in skincare products?.
@tamiloreadebayo18804 жыл бұрын
I think it's a preservative that she would be okay with because it's in some of the products she recommends like CeraVe products. Also, whenever she talks about ingredients being less than 1%, she uses the preservatives like Phenoxyethanol as a reference and has never complained about Phenoxyethanol itself.
@aaronc99834 жыл бұрын
@@tamiloreadebayo1880 I agree. It's common ingredient and its no more than 1% in any product (at least in the USA).

Dr Rattan I really appreciate the great work you are doing in educating us, I wish I knew about you earlier. Love your enthusiasm and honest research backed up solutions for skin of colour. Thanks for doing the review on paulas choice, much appreciated. Can you kindly do a Paulas choice layering for pigmentation please as I noticed paulas choices does not have alpha Arbutin and vit c you recommended from the ordinary range. I live in Australia and can’t get more than 1/2 the ordinary products you recommended for pigmentation. The ordinary is so popular they sell out . I would love if you can do a video for pigmentation with paulas choice so I can switch between the two brands to address the issue.

Thank you soooo much for not taking on sponsorships !! Respect!! It’s so hard to trust doctors in the US….(come on you’re DOCTOR, you don’t need sponsorships). You spending the money you earn through your work - the dermatology practice or work on KZbin (that is work too, because of the effort, time and thought you put in on educating people) to buy and review makes me feel confident about your reviews. Would you say people of colour with very oily skin still need to be as careful with using 10% glycolic acid at night and tretinoin?

Sumaya, I hope you don’t mind my answer. I am sure the doctor will answer you as well🙌🏻 Shaving is just shaving. Derma planning is a procedure done in a medical setting using a sterile surgical blade to scrape the skin and is suppose to remove scars. I am a dark skinned master esthetician and I shave my face( with little shavers) Just make sure it is clean and clean it afterwards as well. I made a video on it if it helps? I don’t want to answer for the doctor. 🍑Lisa Peaches Skin Care.
