I don't' think they are designed to be shotgun down at once, so interesting seeing you drink it all in one setting. I keep a container of G-Fuel (fruit punch flavor) at work and if I'm struggling to focus or feel sleepy, just a finger-nails size portion with water perks me up. Doing the whole scoop makes me ill and waaaayyy over energized, like a fly buzzing around a bar-b-que.

your blood pressure is up, because of the caffeine. Your heart rate is down because it has Citrulline Malate which is Nitric Oxide, a Vaso dilater. I was surprised to, because that's what's in my pre-workout for when I lift weights it allows a greater pump by allowing more blood flow and relaxing your veins to allow more oxygen and blood flow.

Once 1pm comes around I stop drinking everything and I stick to water. I drink 8 bottles of water a day. I go to the bathroom alot but water keeps my kidneys working. There was a time that I couldn't stand to drink water. I drank soda, sugary drinks, and orange juice. I'm so happy I cut those things out of my liquid intake. My BP is usually around 120/80. @@TalkingWithDocs I average about 2.5 feet a step. That's 25,000 feet or nearly 5 miles for 10,000 steps. At 4 miles an hour (the high average for people according to Google) that's around 1 1/2 hours a day walking. That's just not reasonable. I know several people who walk but none that walk that much. That's not even mentioning the time to change shoes or whatever else you do to get ready. I have read several times that the 10,000 step number came from some PR department in a company shilling a walking meter or some such thing. Let's just stop that number now. It's silly and just gives people a reason not to begin ... or believe anything you say. (OH, I do like you guys. Just work on this one!) EDIT; Here's a quick Google "Walking for 30 MINUTES a day or more on most days of the week is a great way to improve or maintain your overall health"

A very nice experiment you two! You can be serious and laugh at yourself at the same time! That makes you so relatable! I've never had energy drinks and I don't desire to either. I already have white coat hypertension, no matter how much I try to relax. Sometimes they take my blood pressure with several types of machines. After trying 5 different times, I ask them to try at the end of my appointment. I have coffee in the morning and iced tea the rest of the day. I'll have a soft drink occasionally because it goes with certain foods! 😉 But I've watched my nephews grow up drinking all kinds of energy drinks. I've never thought they were good for them, especially in the beginning when they were packed with sugar and way too much caffeine! It's good seeing you two conducting your own study and showing us the results! I'm sure Dr Z would have finished the drink faster with chicken wings! 😋 You're both good sports for conducting this experiment! Dear Docs, you've struck upon exactly what I experience with BP/HR but without the energy drink. If I'm relaxed and calm, my BP will often be high @145/90 with a pulse around 45-50. If I move around a bit and get my pulse up to around 70 my BP will fall to around 130/80. I used to attribute high BP reading at the Dr's office to white coat fever but I think it's just that I sit quietly in the waiting room and my resting HR goes quite low. I don't know if there's a scientific explanation but it's very reproducible for me.

This was pretty informative, definitely about to binge watch this channel after a swim today but before that, some thoughts. So, I didn't hear if you guys went over this or not but was you clean test done before or after Dr. Brad's morning coffee? Also, on average, how many coffees are you consuming per day? I just wonder because I personally use to have two or three cups per day or I'd have several energy drinks throughout the day. If I didn't have my coffee or energy drinks I'd get angry, fell nauseous, and overall wouldn't be able to function in my day to day but I also didn't really like how the caffeine was making me feel when I did have them anymore either. I was actually able to ween myself off caffeine using GFuel even though that wasn't my intention. I was told by a friend that it wasn't an immediate spike in energy but instead a small and long lasting boost to energy and focus. Be it placebo or not, that is what I experienced so I followed instructions and replaced my coffee/energy drinks with the Gfuel and eventually ended up drinking less and less until I wasn't drinking it regularly anymore. No more energy drinks, coffee, soda, or GFuel, it was a complete accident but I managed to stop all of them in the span of a few months. Now I will say, I also do not recommend anyone start taking GFuel, this is just my personal experience.

As a caffeine connoisseur who started with Jolt Cola back in the 80’s I appreciate this video. I actually am trying to cut back to a healthy amount.

Nice. Wow we remember jolt. And caffeine pills - wake ups!

Luckily the good docs did not try Monster drinks. They had serious class actions against them. I was speaking with someone who told me she had to go to urgent care because of her reaction to it.

If nothing else, this sample of two could get people curious about the effects of these "supplements" as they are advertised.

Thanks for sharing this video doctor's. I used to drink them 2 year's ago not all the time but I don't anymore even the powerade zeroes too. Which I'm glad that I don't drink them. They really don't do anything for me.

@@TalkingWithDocs Well, that's what it said on my KZbin thing. But, now I see it changed. I have to stop watching these videos when I'm drunk. :))

Great video, pretty interesting as I see G fuel advertised a lot on gaming KZbin videos.

My kids have been asking me for the Ninja flavor and cup. I'm going to have to consult with the baby momma to see if she thinks it'd be okay

I have a sphygmomanometer and check my pressure daily and am able to range my pressure by a couple millibars before I check it now just from how I feel. back in 2020 I was taken from work in an ambulance and spent 12 days in ICU due to extreme hypertension. When the ambulance showed up my pressure was 270/160 and by the time I go to the hospital it was 297/189, still do not know how it did cause an aneurism in my brain, took 12 days to get it under control and after multiple MRI's, CT's and a really cool ultra sound of the heart where I got to see all the valves in the heart working, I was released with a prescription table of 14 pills and told to take my pressure daily. Not a couple years removed I am down to 9 pills daily and blood pressure that is almost perfect with zero knowledge as to why it ran away, they have no reason or explanation as to why it ran off like it did. Cool video and was surprised by the results, I figured your pulse would be off the charts.

@TalkingWithDocs7 ай бұрын
Sucralose is an artificial sweetener which does have some negative aspects to it but does not increase your risk of diabetes

Would you say BCAAs without caffeine is good for intra exercising?
@TalkingWithDocs Жыл бұрын
There is some evidence that consuming protein during workouts has benefit but it does depend on the goals, the type of exercise etc

How do you measure caffeine ? By the way I’m English and drink loads of tea .
