Here at DocWob HQ with the bike builds for VMXdN Foxhill 2023, and there are plenty of them!
In this episode, we will show you the inspiration behind the Kawasaki bike builds for Mike Brown and Tommy Searle to ride at the event on the August Bank Holiday weekend (August 24th - 28th). We look closer at the ama motocross and supercross champion Ricky Carmichael's KX 250 SR 2001 Kawasaki. I reveal the story behind the Factory Kawasaki parts bike.
Strap yourself in; this bike was built by Factory Kawasaki Racing back in 2001. Registered in Ricky Carmichael's name, she's been around the world. She has also been owned by motocross and supercross former Factory Yamaha rider David Vuillemin. It's the real deal. Find out which part costs $60,000 new and why the suspension is cool as!
We also give you a quick look at what else we are working on, including the 1996 RM 250 Suzuki we are building for American rider Leon Capps to ride at VMXdN Foxhill 2023. Keep following along, and we will update you on this one later in the season when it's all blinged up. So, we are going with American Factory Team graphics reminiscent of when Mike LaRocco and Greg Albertyn were back on the team the day.

James Stewart mentioned the nitro Kayaba forks before and said they were the best forks he ever used. Bikes like this 2001 KX are historic, was changing of the guard from MC to RC.

They are not production forks. Only a few sets are engineered and made for RC, specially lowered for him. They probably had at least 10 guys making and working on them. When you make one piece, it is costly. It is when they are mass produced that brings the price down.
