I sincerely hope this so-called 'contract offer' from the Dodgers is just a tactic to inflate the costs for the LolMets and Skankees. If they're seriously considering betraying Teo just to splurge on an egomaniac who can’t even field or sprint to second base, we might as well skip watching next season entirely. It’d be utterly humiliating if, after effectively purchasing the entire league, we don’t secure back-to-back championships.

Given we just signed Snell, meaning we weren't interested in spending $600m on Soto, the only real reason you can come up with as to WHY the Dodgers would talk to him is surely just to drive up the price and the anxiety of the Yankees/Mets who seem the most likely to sign him. I've read they're talking like $660m for Soto, that's NUTS. That's GOAT money. PLUS there's STILL a chance we'll pick up Roki Sasaki at the start of next year for a case of beers. Damn I love being a Dodger's fan.

That Ohtani contract is ridiculous. They need to make that illegal, you should not be able to defer more than 20% of a contract, having to pay 80% is more than fair. for these owners. Despite Ohtani's deferrals, the present value of that money still counts against luxury tax limits, so this yr, ~$46 mil counted against luxury tax. Soto will get at least mid $40 mil aav... Can't commit close to $100 mil/yr to 2 players when it comes to luxury tax. Doubt Dodger are anywhere near the highest bid.

Any Dodgers fan who say they don't want Soto on their team is crazy lol. I've seen all the comments and posts about how he would be a terrible fit on the Dodgers, too much money, etc, etc. But come on now if you can get the chance to get a guy in his prime, you have to try it. All the other teams that are in on him DESPERATELY need Soto on their team. But the Dodgers fans I've seen on social media going "We don't want him or need him" lmao. I for one would LOVE to have an even better time watching some Dodgers games for maybe until the rest of the decade. After that, then you start to rethink the decision.

But at the same time, getting his bat in a lineup with Shohei, Mookie, and Freddie. That is tough. But yeah Dodgers are not as desperate as teams like the Mets or Yankees. So I don't think Soto is wearing Dodger blue. But he's gotta at least try though. Due diligence at this point.

Unlike Shohei, he has little to no value in terms of getting return on corporate sponsorship. Some people estimate that the Dodgers are getting over $100M per year off Shohei's advertising revenues. That's enough to pay for his salary and a little extra to sign another player. The Dodgers' weakness is not having starting pitchers who can stay healthy. That should be their priority. Otherwise, they could run into the same problem like they had during this year's playoffs. The Dodgers can score plenty of runs with their current lineup.

The guy wants 40 million and to win. Im not a fan but that being said give him 3 years 150m then he can get a long term after we gave him 3 titles and made his numbers even better. He doesnt have to be amazing but with us he will be without having to carry us. He gets his money his championship and he can move on from there we get out titles. Roki hopefully comes over and we trade for crochet and roberts to help and id like to see burnes and teo. Thats my dream xmas. Crochet/roberts is possible via trade and roki is cheaper than yamamoto. All we really spending is for burnes. Soto at 150 and teo another 80/90 is not crazy given the money these guys talking about spending. Ok you guys are looking at it wrong. It's not 500, 600 , 700... it's yearly he is looking for 45 to 50 million a year. Angels just paid Kikuchi 24 million and he is a +4.00 era pitcher. So yes an everyday player with a hugh fWAR and OPS+ at 26 is $45 to $50 million a year. Teoscar wants 30 and Soto was better outfielder that Teoscar last year she got on base 44% of the time compared to Teoscars 34% (that's crazy huge). Dodgers can sign Teoscar, Fried and Soto since they are already over the luxury tax it won't affect them. Soto bringing the Dodgers a couple more championships is worth 5 billion additional in market evaluation. These arguments were made before Ohtani signed. Plus imagine how mad new workers will be. Are they better with Soto? Yes. Take that away from them.

I disagree, Arizona was in the World Series in’23, KC has won, Milwaukee is in the playoffs consistently, Detroit was in the playoffs this year, Tampa Bay in the WS in ‘20, Marlins won the WS twice.🤷🏼‍♂️
