The owner of the Dodgers is the 2nd riches owner in baseball and his networth is around 5.5 billion. Cohens networth is closer to 60 billion. If the Dodgers can pay for these contracts and build that team they have, what will Cohen end up doing? It could come down to the Dodgers and Mets next year. The last 2 teams standing. If the Dodgers owner can shell out in this way and keep adding stars to that team why can't Cohen. That's a rhetorical question because Cohen can most definitely do the same thing. I believe that Stearns has his eyes on Crochet and on looking to be the one who signs Sasaki. We will see what happens. Just wait and see.

I don't understand why people act like they're winning the World Series every year. The Dodgers could win 100+ wins in 2025 and look so dominant and still lose in the 1st round like 2023 and 2022. His $52M signing bonus will be taxed based on his home state of WA. They have no state income tax. The $60M deferral will also likely be 0%. So that’s like $13M in his pocket

@ teams in high income tax states have to deal with this. NY is 10.9%. Not only does CA and NY have to deal with this, but the super high cost of living is also a factor. From the state tax standpoint, MLB should increase the CBT threshold based on each states income tax %

Blake Snell has never pitched 200 innings let alone 190 innings in a season, only pitched 180 innings twice which were his Cy Young years. The guy is almost guaranteed to spend sometime on the injury list every year. Literally only has 2 seasons with a WAR over 5.

Blake Snell is a stud 1 of 22 pitchers to win at least two cy young years and dodgers don't need him to pitch 200innings and most starters don't need to pitch that anymore if they are managed right, it all about being healthy in postseason when you are remembered forever on what you do in the postseason. It is also where legends are made in the game in baseball and any major sporting events playoffs is what matters

The dodgers are very aware of that they don’t need snell to start 30+ games they need him in October. Dodgers prioritizing pitching depth, although they won this year it’s not a guarantee you can repeat with 3 starters and bullpen games. You need starting pitching and when you add depth you can possible have a 6 man rotation, in theory less pressure on the starters less injury. Well at least that’s my opinion . .
