It’s literally so frustrating probably one of the main confidence knocks I get I know it sounds silly but I just convinced myself I can’t ride any horse when I’m struggling to ride one horse 😅

I have the same issue. Not necessarily in jumping, but more in dressage. I have a showjumper who has the lightest mouth and the best attitude. Immediate connection when I first rode her. My dressage horse is for me so incredibly difficult to get stable contact with and is difficult to get together. On the otherside, when we have a good ride I feel on top of the world. I think the goal is to make periods between good rides smaller and eventually you will find the usual hard normal and there will be a new hard. Sometimes a good quiet horse, will also have a bad day. It's a never-ending challenge, and a learning curve. We got this!

Relatable!! My pony is totally chill and Will jump anything. My other horse is slightly crazy but I rlly want him to jump. Currently in the stage where nobody thinks he’ll be good

That’s so real I’ve got around 15 ponies and all are completely different rides it’s so difficult sometimes but I am lucky that most of them are very well behaved 😂❤❤

I don't want more than 1 horse, but having just 1 horse means I have to find a way for him to get some time around other people's horses for socialisation, which means interacting with other equestrians.

My horse would have temper tantrum, perfect canter pirouette,piaffe lol. He was mad during a test, simple change at X became a prefect flying lead lol. Judge even made comment how nice, but above level move lol.🇺🇸

YES!!!! I own a baby gelding and a ten year old extremely broke gelding. It’s so weird because sometimes I find myself riding the baby better, just depends on the day 😭

Temperamental warmblood schoolmaster and green Lusitano. Both dressage horses. So very different. Different movement, different body shapes, different attitudes…yeah, I hear you 😵‍💫

I guess I do sometimes, it just takes me a day or two to fully adjust to riding both horses. But I am a catch rider so I’m used to having to ride so many different horses

As in everything else in life, sometimes it's just not in the cards. Some horses just don't like to jump and would rather do dressage or maybe barrel racing

I have two shetlands and I do ground work with them and one is very hot and a little too confident and crazy. The other one is sweet, calm and chill. Some days I can work one but Not the other😂 when I worked the chill one before, I'm very confused 'cause the crazy one is TOTALLY different 😂

Horses are the same as humans. All have individual personalities. What "training" works for one "chlld" may not work for the second "child". A horse isn't just a horse. A horse is a combination of personality, temperament, emotion, self thinking individual. Yes, they also have their comedic, humorous traits.

I can’t jump the beginner lesson horse at my stable well at all. 🤷‍♀️ Everyone considers her so honest and straightforward with jumping and I just can’t figure out how to move with her unless I ride with her for several lessons in a row.

stops are trained by the rider. find a trainer and redo the ground work.

I am a trainer. He has made huge progress since he was fried as a 4yo. He doesn’t stop as much anymore but he is still incredibly careful and gives himself a fright easily. I allow him to stop and know he’s in control and then he jumps for me quite happily. It’s a big reason I will never compete him as I will never ever ever again force him to jump everything. Not all horses are consistent jumpers, which Veludo isn’t. I choose to jump so it’s my responsibility to do it in a way that’s enjoyable for him and allows him to remain calm. This won’t be everyone’s approach but for a horse like him that has had so many problems throughout the years with so many trainers, this is what works for us.
