Turtle Wax has stepped up their game in The Last 5 Years and for an inexpensive wax or spray wax or detailer they are really almost at the top of the market and even surpassing products from Chemical Guys Meguiars and mothers. Im a pro detailer 30 years. Clay and wax your car polish if necessary. Dollar Tree has super soft white car towels way better than microfibers. Lightly run the towel to pick up dust b4 your daily drive. You can also use a quick wax spray when needed. Use Spray Wax like furniture polish.

I've been driving since 1982.Turtle wax was what I was using then and still use today.They have kept up with the times and while other brands have come and gone....Turtle wax has stood the test of time.Cant go wrong with ANY product that's been around for 40+ yrs.Its obvious why they're still around.Armor all and Turtle wax was all we were using back then.

Jimbo, I love my black truck. I had an 07 ram that was black and now I have a 17 Ram. I can tell you the Turtle Wax black line is a great line. A great 1-2 punch is Meguiars ultimate polish with ultimate wax. If you are looking for off the shelf products. Nothing hides imperfection better than a silver metallic paint. No, I won't sell my black truck. Got plans involving it and it's hemi.

Jimbo, I use Meguires Black wax to "re-hydrate" the clear coat. It is a very sensitive "wax" and can easily be stripped off. Look at the chemical composition of each and you can see that one is more of a "re-hydrate" and the other is more of a "topper" . Black wax needs a topper like "Ice" clear then you get a really nice gloss and it lasts a few weeks.

Nice video, thanks. I have tried both One variable not mentioned is color overspray. The dyed spray product discolors surounding non-black items, and in the case on my Black and Gold Trans Am, discolors the gold graphics. I use the Mequiars and can go right over the graphics without staining. It actually fills the aged black portions of the graphics without staining the gold. It also dries dark, so if some remains in crevices, it's not as noticeable as standard wax. I believe this is why they used a darkish base.

One of the better tests I have seen you do. It was hard to see if Turtle Wax filled until the last "after" shot. That made a difference. Keep it coming keep getting better. Would be fun to see if it fills on a green car?? label says dark colors that's vague.

Yeah Jimbo great video I’m impressed with how you treated the product in just about real world situations. Turtle wax is great product and the Megiuers was great too but I think if you use a DA with it definitely would be better . But when clean up black is kick ass .

Maybe it would be more fair to do filler wax tests on corrected paint with minor swirls vs. totally hammered paint. Not complaining, just a thought. Thanks for doing what you do.

I believe with the right pad you can actually do some minor corrections with the Black. If my hunch is right you’d us that with a dual action polisher and a foam pad and seal it up with seal and shine 2 coats. You’d be good for about 3 months. Considering the price the Turtle Wax offerings right now are the best bang for your buck under $10 bucks. Awesome little product for the shop.

People talking about maintaining black. After it gets dusty but still overall clean, you can go over it with a swiffer duster. Less chance of scratching and does a good job.

So I picked up some more Turtle Wax products today and spotted the Black Wax... so I went home, dusted my car then went at it with the TW Black Wax....... Ummmmmm HOLY SHIT BATMAN!!! I thought the regular Ice made my car pop.... Well holy crap! My car is seriously TWICE as shiney and from about 6 feet away it looks like it was just painted. It certainly did tone down the swirl marks and scratches... close up you can surely still see them but stand 4 feet back and I challenge anyone to see so much as one flaw in the clear coat... I'm sort of in shock... Took maybe 8 minutes to do the whole car and once again I made sure I had nice new MICRO FIBER towels. The deep rich shine and mirror finish just made me giddy when I walked out to admire my MKV Jetta 2.0T Wolfsburg...

You can use that TW Ice Black spray polish with a machine as well. It does have cleaning and polishing agents and paired with a soft foam pad you'll get beautiful results. I loved using the original Turtle Wax (not Ice) Carnauba Cleaner Spray Wax with a soft pad. It was a very gentle easy safe way to polish/clean delicate paint with an even consistent finish. Plus it was like $4 a bottle. One of my favorite retail products, but I never see it in stores anymore. Thanks for the video! 😁👍👌✌

Have you tried Turtle Wax Color Magic Jet Black Polish? I picked this up at O'Reilly's before I saw your video on the TW Ice. Seems good but I'm curious how the Color Magic compares with theTW Ice. Do you know what the difference is? Almost sounds similar. TW Color Magic says it "cleans, shines, restores and adds color, instantly hides imperfections".

Speaking of black Sprinters, I have 3 black Sprinters to fully detail in the next couple weeks, and they are Mercedes black single stage with no clear coat so there is considerable fading... what would you suggest?
