Here is where Brock can just play his B game, march us down the field, eat the clock, and "manage" our drives such that Mahomes touches the ball the least amount of time. In the SB they ran all over the Chiefs and the Chiefs defense continuously couldn't get out of their own way with penalties. He had some nice throws but it was mostly YAC for a whopping 200 yds. Once they got a lead they played keepaway. The real driving force was the defense and the sieve playing O=line for the chiefs. I'm not saying he couldn't have played an A game just that he didn't have to that game (to my point about defense stepping up) In the AFC championship game, yes he had a lot of yards but he had a 77 pass rating for a reason (despite being pressured on only 2% of dropbacks compared to Mahomes's 40%). Balanced NE opening drive, big time throw to Edelman to convert 3rd and 7, ends with a run in. Endzone interception at the 2 after the defense gave them a short field sacking Mahomes at his own 7. NE defense 3 and outs the Chiefs. Punt by NE. NE defense again pins their ears back and sacks Mahomes out of field goal range. Brady screen pass to White goes for 30 yds (after White catches it behind him for a 3rd down conversion). Then a DOT to Dorsett for a TD. 14-0 NE. Mahomes makes a couple huge throws to make it 14-7. Brady 3rd and 6 pass knocked down. Punt. NE defense again sacks Mahomes to where KC is punting from the endzone. NE drive starts at the KC 43. They get about 8 net yards before kicking a FG. 17-7 NE KC TD drive, Endzone DPI didn't do any favours for NE. 17-14 NE. NE turnover on downs at Chiefs 20. Defense holds Mahomes to a whopping 2 yard drive. 3 and out. Edelman's muffed punt is overturned. Brady int 2 plays in off a deflection. Chiefs TD. 21-17 KC. NE TD drive, bit of a soft roughing the passer called but so be it. Huge throw by Brady and catch by Hogan in there. Michel has a 10yd run on 4th and 1 for the TD. 24-21 NE. KC TD drive with a ticky tack DPI and a dropped endzone int. 28-24 KC. NE TD drive. Brady throws some dots but a BONEHEADED offside by Dee Ford causes a KC int to be overturned. Game would have ended there. Burkhead runs it in. 31-28 NE. KC FG drive ties the game, some big time throws and catches. NE OT TD drive. Vintage Brady emerges, 3 HUGE 3rd down conversions. to keep the drive alive. Burkhead runs it in. Blouses. While he came through in the end, a) it wasn't an A game from him, and b) the defense was standing on their head early on to keep Mahomes at bay and give Brady some short fields.

I agree with Joy. As a broncos fan who has seen 8 years of losing to the chiefs, the best and near only way to win is to make 1 or fewer mistakes cause turnovers, own time of possession, and score touchdowns not just field goals. That's the recipe

Chiefs have better defense than 49ers but sure if Mahomes plays bad they lose but if Purdy plays bad they still win. wtf we literally saw Mahomes not score a single point in second half against ravens? You can't tell me scoring 0 points in a half is not playing bad. While 49ers D gave up 24 points in the first half and Purdy helped 49ers score 27 in the 2nd half accounting for 80% offense 13/16 190 yard and 52 rushing yards on 3 attempts. double standard is unreal

The hate for Brock is insane, I can understand why media wouldn’t want to fully commit to supporting him in the fear that if they do they’ll lose rep if he fails, but why has every underdog story been so revered apart from him??
