The videos on this channel will be focused around helping women navigate healthspan and longevity through the lens of osteoporosis, perimenopause, and menopause. When it comes to osteoporosis and menopause providers and educators often get tunnel vision and your symptoms might get better, but if you don't keep longevity in mind, symptom improvement may come at the expense of heart and brain health.

I love cows. I love milk. I’m Lactose intolerant. I have Osteoporosis. My Grandfather had a dairy farm. I yell hello to the cows on my drive to work everyday. I pray for the newborn calves. I have cried more than a few times for the joy I get from my love of calves. They usually follow me and no one can explain it. I am a true 🐄 cows’ girl.

Cows are such beautiful animals, only if people could touch them and be near them, they will never slaughter and eat a cow. I have seen in videos, when a live musical instrument is being played, cows come and listen, they all stand in a row to listen.

After I stopped dairy (tried organic milk too), sinus problems gone, colds are mild and short and not often, no more bronchitis, no more heavy stuffy nose, no more doctors visit for infection, no more inhalers, no antibiotics. Its been a few years, so far so good. I use coconutmilk, almond milk sometimes, recently bought oat milk, all of them unsweetened (no sugar).

Drinking milk is not for adults is what I saw in another video, if I remember right, the name of the DVD is "Udderly milk" or something like that. If I remember right the content was: Two enzymes are needed to digest, which adults lack.

Thank you for looking into dairy especially raw dairy. Big Milk (I just made that up - I think) has a vested interest in seeing raw dairy outlawed as the processes that are needed to keep it safe would be almost impossible on a large scale. In my area I could probably get heroin easier than raw dairy. Once I told my family I was thinking about finding sources for raw dairy and the response was visceral and critical - are you crazy? The education of the populace about the dangers of raw milk, listeria, e-coli, and other bacteria, has been very successful. The lack of concern for other food borne illnesses is a mystery.
@climateanxiety2825

No, I had biology classes that talked about the dangers of raw dairy before there were factory farms. Milk was still delivered to your door. I know for a fact that neither the school nor the professors had anything to do with "big dairy" because it did not exist. We just looked at the pathogens in raw milk, and then we ourselves pasteurized it and compared. Needless to say, I would not risk it, but you do you boo. Note We FOUND listeria, e-coli and "other bacteria. Some of the bacteria was harmless or even beneficial, but the dangers of the "bad" bacteria were not worth the risk. And yes, the milk was collected in a scientific manner to prevent contamination and cross contact. The pathogens were only from the milk. It was interesting, and stomach turning. I for one will never drink unpasteurized milk. It's not like raw milk is a miracle cure.

In Mongolia where I am from cows are on the pastures whole year. Their meat and milk are organic and the healtiest. Mongolian herders milk their cows every evening, make themselves different dairy products at home. But they always boil milk before drinking or making any product. Because you can get seriously ill from raw milk. Specifically brucellosis is very dangerous.

I’m 33yo and I have lupus, thats why i used corticoids for a long time but I dont anymore for years now and the osteoporosis is still getting worse, I dont know what to do besides going to the gym, I get so confused on what should I eat/take. Your bone loss continues because of inflammation. Lupus raises various cytokines. Your problem is identical to that of psoriasis patients. You may want to ask your doctor for immunomodulators (NOT immunosuppressants), but please be aware of the side effects such as reactivation of viruses (e.g. Varicella). Going to the gym is still your best bet though. And don't forget plenty of magnesium, it's more important than calcium.

Try eatiing about one table spoon of sour cream or eat whole fat yogurt everyday plus take New Chapter Organic Plant Calcium. Sour cream itself helps with reducing my ellergy from starches like wheat, rice, plant roots (horrible rashes on my face, including some of the pores on my face bleeds after I wash my face after waking up), which I think is leaky gut. Sour cream aslo helps my nails to grow and not breaking or sllitting but still easy to bend down and look almost translusion. With New Chapter, my nails now are harder and more opaque (my friend was able to reverse her beginning stage of osteoporeosis by 5 points). I am only about 4 months in with sour cream and 2 weeks with New Chapter bone strength. Will see if these help with my osteopinia in my next bone density scan.

Could you please do a video about taking Proton Pump Inhibitors (PPIs) to reduce acid and their affect on bones and what kind of calcium vegans can take and how much and kidney stones from calcium supplements. Hiatal hernia is the reason for the doctor prescribing Pantaprazole 20mg i.e. after trying Famotidine. Read that Broccoli, Kale, Collards, Brussel sprouts have decent calcium, this is the best way to get calcium, but is that sufficient? Doc said to take 600mg of calcium supplement.

@jacquesmertens3369
@jacquesmertens3369 3 ай бұрын
Your "doctor" is just as much a "doctor" as the presenter of this show. Your issue isn't calcium but magnesium depletion. You need to supplement magnesium and B12 if you're on PPIs. In the long term what you need is weight loss. Losing weight can even cure your hiatal hernia. Tilt your bed (and I really mean your entire bed, NOT your pillow), lose weight, and after a year or so you can maybe even stop taking PPIs. Losing weight is the key factor.

I take a biologic medication for RA, l’m advised to stay away from certain foods that are a higher risk for bacterial borne food illnesses, I tolerate dairy including milk just fine, I buy the grass fed, however it is pasteurized. I like the taste and there is more protein in there versus non dairy milk. Doesn’t contain all those additives. I eat cheese as well. Growing up in Wisconsin, there are many local options. It’s interesting how the label gives the nutrition information and it seem fairly wholesome in nutrition. Organic Valley brand has a video on pasteurization process. Very interesting. My question, should I continue with this since it isn’t raw?

@janeb441
@janeb441 3 ай бұрын
I did raise beef as a hobby farm years ago. We made hay in the summer and that was what we fed the cows in the winter. Some hay, like clover , would have more nutrients for the cows. Same with chickens. Corn grown organically in the summer can be harvested for chickens in the winter. So it is possible to feed them in the winter.

Thank you so much for talking about milk and dairy, I've heard the nonsense about milk causing bone issues even before I was diagnosed with osteoporosis, it never made sense to me, dairy is a food staple in my diet because is Way more affordable than meat for calcium vitamins minerals and protein, but I also enjoy dairy it's the Only animal food I like eating and it's less harsh on my wallet,,, I can think of other foods that can be harmful to bones but dairy isn't one of them,, personally I believe drinking dairy is natural, we can say eating meat isn't natural because today's cows are not natural, they're artificially made and their genes have been manipulated but no one says beef isn't natural , i don't drink raw milk because i can't afford it and because raw dairy makes me sick but I have seen only good things from having dairy in my diet

Would you trust someone who recommends drinking raw, unpasteurized milk? I don't know how it works in the US, but in Europe someone who recommends such incredibly unsafe practices would be stripped of his title and possibly face a jail sentence if people who follow his advice become handicapped or die. Even the most primitive people on this planet know you have to heat raw milk before you consume it.

"natural" is a very imprecise term - meaningless in its application. it is "natural" for humans to process edible substances to make them more digestible. if the gut is healed from environmental toxins - many of which are plants themselves &/or what the plants carry, then whole fat - preferably raw cheeses, for example, are tolerated well and contribute beneficially to an animal based diet - most people that I've encountered don't eliminate enough of the deleterious foods to allow their guts to completely heal. Nightshades are a perfect example - here in New Mexico if you say stop the chili & tomatoes you are unAmerican. lol.
