+Slave2PaperWithInkOn You've missed the point. The message is not trying to tell you what you should do (be happy and ignore suffering in the world) but rather that you should love WHATEVER you do. "Dance each step of [your] way". Whichever way you walk on.
@adrianschmadrian35508 жыл бұрын
@Slave2PaperWithInkOn While I appreciate your spirit and your energy, the way you've communicated your message - CAPs and parentheticals and quotation marks, et cetera - unfortunately reminds me of the person shouting their truths on a street corner when there's an orchestral quartet playing to an otherwise attentive crowd. Or the overly-enthusiastic Jehovah's Witnesses who arrive on your doorstep just when you're about to give your baby a bath and just...won't...go...away. Take your pick. : )

I bet even the arms dealers had a different dream of doing something else in life. Guess everyone should chase their own passion, even if it is on wall street or a truck driver.

Have been a student of Alan's for over 10 years along with other master thinkers. His zen way of seeing the world has helped me grow in many ways. At the point of my life now here in 2020 locked down due to a virus outbreak, and through many months leading up to today, I realized I was missing a true purpose in life which I thought I had. No my purpose was not pursuit of wealth or success or even happiness. To me my inner feelings told me my purpose was to make the most use of the creative power I was given, we were all given as human beings. That purpose served me for many years and it brought me happiness even in adversity but still I felt it was not enough. Now it finally clicked to me about his comparison to music. It's not even about being creative but it's about really savouring every note and every beat of your time in this song we call life. Thank you

@@thareealgee Hi, it's from the song it's played on the video: Saturn by Sleeping at last. When the video ends, it's the part that follows: "I'd give anything to hear, You say it one more time That the universe was made, Just to be seen by my eyes"
@horizon56774 жыл бұрын
it can correlate to the point of the video, life is about living, that's it, no need to search for a greater meaning that itself. Make the meaning in the living. Doing things with meaning. If it brings true meaning for you, it will probably give meaning to your surroundings as well, and society at large. JUST TO BE SEEN, life is about experiencing, JUST FOR THAT SAME PURPOSE.

@@thareealgee :oo Thank you! I saw it one time in a book about the Shadow, I think, from Carl Jung, and I really liked the meaning "In Classical Greek metanoia meant changing one's mind about someone or something. When personified, Metanoia was depicted as a shadowy goddess, cloaked and sorrowful, who accompanied Kairos, the god of Opportunity, sowing regret and inspiring repentance for the "missed moment". This conventional portrayal continued through the Renaissance. "The elements of repentance, regret, reflection, and transformation are always present in the concept of metanoia to some degree, ..."
