Can adding certec too often cause oil blow by on the piston rings increasing oil consumption due to less oil ring friction on the cylinder walls?

How often were you changing the oil? Did you buy the car used?

It seems like it might have helped a little bit, but not much, maybe 5% difference to my ears. It seems like the only way to fix this properly is going to be pretty invasive.
