I was thinking that. I grew up with Oxiclean and I use oxiclean as an adult. The only stain issues I have had are either ones that sat for like days or weeks and I forgot about them or just a bad day that it didn’t work well. But it 95% of the time it works fine! But I do wipe off whatever fell on it the best I can

yeah if this were your fravorite shirt and you really wanted the stain out, you'd wipe off as much as you can (once you discovered the stain) then when you soaked it you'd probably not just drop it in, but swish it around with your hands a bit and make sure the product was getting into the stained area. Also, it would have been nice afterward to put the gain in the oxy clean and vice versa to see if you could get the other stains out. Maybe between the two of them you could have gotten a perfectly clean shirt.

Plain black coffee is “fat free” but it too has oils in it. Cocoa powder has trace amounts of fat in it that don’t need to be reported in a nutrition label. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Best stain remover I've ever found is called Gonzo. You may need to scrub the liquid in a little with an old or spare toothbrush but it still takes little to no effort and has gotten everything out, even on very dark colors, without discoloring - and it removed the stains completely BEFORE I even got them into the wash. Just from the Gonzo and toothbrush method. Stains disappeared almost instantly. Would be cool to see him test that stuff. Super inexpensive too. Also, Tide and Gain are owned by the same company BUT Tide is known to clean better when tested against Gain. Gain just appeals to more people because of it's wide range of scents. Which I get. I love good smells. But I feel like the cleaning power of the detergent is also a factor in the stain release process.

I'm pretty sure I read in Consumer Reports or somewhere that Oxi Clean worked best on organic stains. So stuff that's the color it is because of ingredients is fine, most chocolate syrup has artificial coloring though, which it doesn't work as well against. I remember that report because I started getting dish detergent with it after, to break up food so they'd wash easier. :p

Oxy clean is the only thing I know that can get day old blood stains out. My grandma fell last year and split her head and we had to do a compress with towels. She told me to wash them in oxy clean while she was in the hospital and when she came home you couldn't even tell we'd used them.

OxiClean is a powdered version of hydrogen peroxide and good old-fashioned washing soda.... The tougher the stain the longer you soak it.... And you have to add warm water to activate the OxiClean.... And you also have to add laundry detergent with the OxiClean when you rinse it out.... You can also add a couple drops of Dawn dish soap while you're soaking it.... And it will look brand new..... And for certain stains you have to let it soak longer... And for a great reference you can watch America's test kitchen and they'll show you the proper way of using OxiClean....

Oxiclean instructions tell you how much to use per gallon, I don’t think you used enough and could’ve potentially had even greater lift! I love oxiclean personally. Also if you were to get a stain on your clothes in real life, you’d rinse in water and then soak. So it can penetrate as deep as possible. Thank u for the video!:)

There is more oil in chocolate syrup so therefore a detergent based cleaner will remove oils better. That's why you wash with both oxy and a detergent based cleaner.

You should always run clothes thru the rinse cycle with no soap. Just clean cold water. Sometimes the soap will set the stain. If you rinse vigorously with clean water sometimes you dont need stain remover

The best stain remover I found is "Mean Green" you get it from dollar General. Add 1-2 cups in to the water and soak that shirt with those kinds of stains for 12 hrs. If they are still there in 12 hrs keep soaping till gone. Then wash it as normal.

The active ingredient in OxyClean is the powdered version of hydrogen peroxide which is about $1/bottle compared to $15 for the Oxy. Maybe do a comparison between those two as well? Would help to see which works best and saves money. Thanks.

Gain may have worked better on the chocolate sauce because it contains oils that the other products are very low in or don't contain at all. I wish you'd done a third test with oxi plus a detergent =)

While I get keeping it a fair comparison means doing the same for both, that shouldn't be the case here. OxiClean is a pre-soak and an add-in to your laundry, Gain is just a detergent. Gain shouldn't be pre-soaked because you wouldn't do that with it otherwise.

On top of rinsing off the shirts first, I don't think he used enough oxiclean vs the amount of water, to diluted. Either less water or more oxiclean. Also for tough stains like mustard, after the oxiclean soak, if you rub a stain stick or spray on the stain before sticking it in the washer, it will almost 99% of the time remove the stain.

Might try wiping the items off. And rinse then use the pre soak. That would be more accurate of a typical situation. And for gain or any other soap for pre soak you have to apply the soap directly to the stain and scrub then soak.

I had a 165lb dog with a upset stomach and brand new carpet. He left a cow patty looking mess and I thought I’d never get the stain or the smell out of my carpet. I took oxyclean and warm water and scrubbed the mess and it didn’t clean the stain at all. Left the house came back a few hours later the smell and the stain were completely gone! I was so shocked. I love oxyclean.
