@Jonathan Losito Doug's personality annoys me. Throttle house is okay and Matt Maran does a decent job. Straight Pipes is pretty good though. But I prefer Alex as well as Sofyan Bey and SavagaeGeese - I do suppose it depends on what vehicle segment you like to see reviewed. That's the nice thing about all of these channels..... something for everyone. You're bound to find at least 1 or 2 channels that cater to your preference and that's not even mentioning other channels like Raiti's Rides, EverydayDriver, and of course TFL or smaller market channels like Gold Pony, Driven Car Reviews With Tom Voelk, Forrest's Auto Reviews, MikesCarInfo , Prime Autotainment..... the list just goes on... plus some of the foreign Channels like Motorgraph World, and Asian Petrolhead.....

Does it have a sport setting on the cvt? I’d trade the heads up display for that. I’m in favor of the paddle shifters to offer more control engine breaking downhill and holding revs higher on backroads and in weather. Less about acceleration more about control. I have an outback and murano, though murano is far nicer and larger engine, I can’t tap into it because it lacks paddles. Nice add by Nissan. Though I’m not a fan of cvts the paddles are a much needed addition....and certainly an improvement.

There are some people who have had major issues with several Nissan vehicles, the maxima isn’t as common to have issues with. The generation Altima you mentioned specifically had an issue with the dashboard melting, and the newer nissans with a first generation CVT transmission developed by Jatco were known to fail mainly in the Altima and Sentra. Not all people will experience it as some vehicles are manufactured in different plants, but a lot of people were experiencing transmission issues, with the Sentra being the worst, followed by the Altima.

Rey Perez “Nissan has been in the news a lot lately, and unfortunately, it’s been for all the wrong reasons. Over the course of the last year or two, Nissan’s profits have plunged (and then plunged some more!) as sales of the company’s vehicles have started trending in the wrong direction. Nissan has also been forced to deal with a slew of ongoing Nissan CVT transmission problems in a variety of the company’s vehicles. Those who own Nissans have been forced to pay anywhere from $3,500 to $8,000 on average to fix Nissan CVT transmission problems. This has, in turn, forced Nissan to extend the warranties on many of their cars from five years or 60,000 miles to 10 years or 120,000 miles.” They are known for shaking, shuddering, breaking metal belts, and complete failure.
