Same - iPhone 15 Pros will still get the Apple Intelligence so I’m not upgrading and I’ll get over not having a camera button - I prefer using the camera button in the camera app anyway

Innovation in phones is limited to cameras and AI at this point. There won’t be any groundbreaking tech coming to phones anytime soon, and even later for iPhone users with Apple’s record of holding out till the very end to implement already existing features from android.

The AirPods Max continue to perform well in equivalent testing against the latest headphones. They outperform the latest Sonos and Dyson releases. They seem to have become extremely disinterested in perfecting wireless lossless audio. Until Eddie Cue goes, this will continue. Secondhand AirPods Max are good value. The Watches were a big meh! Not even a new processor. iPhone updates are always boring. These are no different. I must be kind of the only ones who like the finewoven cases. Mine has held up well to wear and dropping. It also feels good to me. I always hated the leather ones which deteriorated but not as much as the silicone ones which are super rubbish and poor value. I usually trade in and salary sacrifice the iPhone each year straight up. I’ll wait until Christmas this year so I can find a case I like.

Yes, as a person who likes the best audio I can get I am always disappointed that they have not made improvements in the actual sound. It is decent on my iPod pro 2, but not the best by any means. I do understand that they are going for what 90% of people want, and I would imagine the 90% of happy enough with the sound quality of their existing product line. So I will be waiting for the next big leap in wireless technology...

i use wide angle all the time. it jumped from 12MP to 48… added a x5 telephoto to the regular pro. look: no one is supposed to upgrade every year. if you have a 15 im sure youre fine…

This iPhone genuinely feels like a half a gen improvement. We already know that adding a new physical button to the UI (such as the action button on last year’s Pro), isnt really regarded as a generational leap forward, Had Apple come out with a new screen tech like the dual layered OLED to reduce the thickness of the phone by 25%, i think there would have been something compelling in light of the rest of the hardware still in ambiguitity over the impending AI features. Until apple has field test their ai roadmap for on device computing, i think this is more of stop gap year for the iPhone

The main gripe is a crumby 12mp for zoom. It's literally intentionally leaving out standard technology on Android phones to have something to push later.

Some people want to live on bleeding edge of technology/have latest greatest every year and therefore upgrade every year, nothing wrong with that either. I just can’t this time. Yes the 16 gets a lot more stuff then years past but 800 for 60h. 200 dollar android phones have at least 90 h. I have a 15 pro max the 16 pro max added a button and now you can record 4k 120. My phone overheats with 4k 60, the 16 pro will overheat before you hit the shutter. Cash grab crap. If I want a better assistant I can use Google assistant, if z I want AI I have chat gpt. You also can use Gemini on an iPhone. I just can’t get behind these phones, sorry if you bout a base 15 you don’t get AI, Apple had no idea any of this was coming. This company is getting worse.

Well to be fair, no one has tested it yet , so your assertion it will overheat is baseless, then again even 8000 dollar dedicated cameras can overheat under severe load , and they did mention better cooling on the new model iPhones , so we’ll have to wait and see. And how many people want to film at 4K 120 fit more than a minute or two anyway ? Not many I suspect. Overall it seems like a decent upgrade to me , about as much as you’d expect from any of the big companies.
