You'll need to read the study for those details, and you will find that scientists, especially those published in the prestigious journal The Lancet, do take into account many different variables. These studies are also scrutinized by other scientists before even being allowed to be published; this is called "peer reviewed." The study is a "meta-analysis" which is the best of the best of journal articles. These meta-analyses show clear associations and are able to make remarkable conclusions that we can really learn from. You really need to become a scientist, which is a long journey with a lot of schooling, before you will ever understand the data, data analysis, statistical analysis, and results of a scientific study. Even then, the information can be difficult to interpret if you are not a scientific expert in that particular field.

That a KETO diet may be therapeutically useful and necessary cannot be overstated. The instant discussion centres around longevity. The KETO diet premises on say, cancer, as a product of metabolic mutation as opposed to the often held medical science view of genetic mutation. My take on this: whether it is a high carb diet or keto diet, a middle ground is necessary to mutate the effects of dysfunctional effects of ineffectual or poor metabolism. On a "needs-basis", particularly from a therapeutic point-of-view, and in the absence of a definitive cure (as in the case of cancer or diabetes) and for a limited period, KETO may be the right option. The "metabolic approach" as in starving the cancer cells of their staple diet (or in the case of insulin resistance), going on KETO diet and subscribing to an "intermittent fasting" programme may prove to be a "life-saver". Having said that, and as how our beloved Violin MD had found out, a balanced carb diet (is it 50%?) and avoiding a heavy dose of protein/animal fat diet may prove to be a "metabolic" solution. Fat in the form of coconut oil, for instance, (cold-pressed/organic) could be added and with a fair amount of protein would do the trick. The odd confusion as to which diet is definitive and applicable stems from the dogmatic pursuance of an all-befitting diet for almost any patient. I have been helping my patients to understand the basics of such an approach and it has worked well enough. Cheers

"Having said that, and as how our beloved Violin MD had found out, a balanced carb diet (is it 50%?) and avoiding a heavy dose of protein/animal fat diet may prove to be a "metabolic" solution." No. She's a girl that reported on a study that I imagine she would have understood if she had actually read it, but clearly failed to read. Or if she did read it, did so with such an uncritical eye that it's embarrassing. The study is absolutely rife with methodological issues. It proves nothing because it fails to have validity--it did not measure what it claimed to measure.

The so called keto diet is nothing new what so ever, Eskimos live on high saturated fat diets, have lower oxidised cholesterol “oXLDL” yes that actual measurement that matters more than the cholesterol level and far superior cardiovascular health than Americans. Eating high quantities of oily fish is bad for you....really? News to new unless it’s farmed of course. And cattle meat fed and raised with antibiotics and corn is 10x worse than natural pasture raised beef and pork. Modern chemical farming of vegetables are all crap and cannot be compared to organic no gm modified vegetables. Insulin resistance issues from carb such as white rice, wheat, and refined sugars are no good for anyone. It’s all about dietary balance of different food types, raw, snap frozen organic veg that’s higher in nutrients, keeping healthy with out Drs prescribing shitty medicines rather than gaining knowledge with dietary health, balanced gut health and looking outside of the box they had been taught in out of date medicine schools.

When I first started keto I started as a vegetarian so my fats and protein came from plants, eggs and dairy. I lost a lot of weight quite quickly and also adapted well to IF. Food no longer ruled me! However, my skin and eyes became very dry and my skin was also very crepey. I slacked off, carb cycled from time to time, and slowly began to eat seafood once in awhile. Now I'm back on Keto and eat some kind of meat once or twice a week. I've become addicted to dairy so I limit its availability. I'm 61 and most everyone guesses me to be in my 40s. Sugar is a zero and bread is a sometimes maybe but I really notice I feel achy and look puffy the next day. I enjoy keto sweets but I don't crave them. Its a balancing act and often I just ask my body what it needs and go from there. Sometimes it's just a glass of cold water☺

Most people can't just listen to their body, their body is craving twinkies. Keto is great for a few things. Losing weight, resetting cravings, and fixing some of the health problems caused by super high carb western diets. I've done keto, got in better shape, felt great on it. But the way you feel isn't a total representation of your health. You typically don't "feel" cardiovascular problems until it's too late. For a permanent diet it's probably better to stick to what we know. Veggies, fruits, leaner meats. Stay low-ish carb and keep them complex. I don't trust the keto people claiming you have to stay on it forever or you'll get diabetes, I don't trust the carnivores claiming that a cholesterol of 400 is good for you. This stuff definitely needs more study, and I don't wanna be the guinea pig.

- 3 Reasons Why Bulletproof Coffee is a Bad Idea and the dangers of long term on a ketogenic diet . Humans did NOT evolve eating (or drinking) such massive amounts of saturated fat. There are plenty of nutrients that are healthy when consumed in reasonable amounts, but when people start megadosing them it can cause serious problems. One example is fructose... it's "good" when found in nutritious, fibrous whole fruit, but a disaster when consumed in massive amounts from refined sugars (6, 7). Another example is linoleic acid (the main Omega-6 fat)... it's healthy when found in whole, nutritious nuts, but a disaster when consumed in massive amounts from veggie oils (8, 9, 10). It is entirely possible that saturated fat is the same. Healthy in reasonable amounts, but harmful when we start eating massive, unnaturally large doses that are way outside of evolutionary norms.There are plenty of nutrients that are healthy when consumed in reasonable amounts, but when people start "megadosing" them it can cause serious problems. It is entirely possible that saturated fat is the same. Healthy in reasonable amounts, but harmful when we start eating massive, unnaturally large doses that are way outside of evolutionary norms. ------BOTTOM LINE: There have been numerous reports of people having massive increases in cholesterol levels when drinking bulletproof coffee. This includes advanced risk factors like ApoB and LDL particle number. I personally think it is best to proceed with caution when adopting a drastic dietary change that has never been tested and is way outside of evolutionary norms. It is better to be safe than sorry. ---Another trend a slow unhealthy liver cannot metabolize and process eating so much fat 7 days a week . ..sooner or later your liver it clogs up . " ketogenic diet " --In the study, the researchers fed mice a ketogenic diet for several days and expected to find a favorable outcome - perhaps weight loss or another indication of improved health. Instead, they found that the "liver began resisting" insulin" almost immediately and the mice were unable to regulate their blood sugar levels after only "three days" on the diet. (Insulin resistance, meaning that cells in the body don't respond to insulin, is a key characteristic of type 2 diabetes.)😮 Go to this website to read Article on keto diet . www.livescience.com/63306-ketogenic-diet-diabetes-risk.html? ---Many people follow ketogenic diets for weight loss and other health benefits. A ketogenic diet can be an effective means to lose weight, reverse type 2 diabetes, fatty liver, and other health conditions. The problems come, however, when you follow a ketogenic diet for an "extended period" . We already know from the many children who have followed a ketogenic diet to suppress seizures that they are at least 10-fold greater risk for kidney stones, impaired growth, dysbiosis, and metabolic distortions. If you follow a ketogenic diet, you MUST address bowel flora, especially with prebiotic fibers. And you would be well advised to not remain ketotic for extended periods else you are at substantial risk for dysbiosis, constipation, diverticular disease, and "colorectal cancer" . He still runs 2x a week and walks the other 5, and some light weight training, and I'm quite sure he can still do 10 chinups. He's 5'6 weighs about 140 and takes no medications. He started the original Pritikin program before I was born (I'm 35) and he's altered it over the years by using whole milk instead of skim (1 glass a day) and adding nuts daily and fatty fish once or twice a week. I did the math and his diet is 45% carbs, 40% fat (7%saturated or less) and 15% protein, mainly from plant sources (1 glass milk and 4 oz of usually chicken or fish a day) His bloodwork is probably better than most 20 year olds. That's it. This is about as complicated as I'd want to get, I really don't care about the other diets, for me I try to follow something at least close to this. Have a good day!

There seems to be plenty of evidence that points to less animal protein granting a longer life. But that's not what people wanna hear. Myself included. Meat is delicious, muscularity is important. I just keep my meat on the leaner side and cross my fingers. My father died of a heart attack as well. Wish me luck and I'll wish you luck lol. People see carbs as the enemy because in the U.S. they kind of are. The trick is to keep the carb sources healthy, like the ones in the Pritikin program. Get the numbers right, so not 70% of your diet like the original food pyramid suggested. And actually use the energy they provide, like your great grandfather. That's a big one.

Also, what kind of carbs are they eating? Straight up sugar? Fruit? Potatoes? Were the carbs fried in some sort of rancid seed oil? Are these people eating a standard American diet full of crap and processed food? We don't really know what any of these people were eating.

The best diet is one that you can stick with for life. For me that's Keto. I've lost 65lbs in 24 weeks on Keto, no cravings. I only started exercising about two months ago. I feel great, better than I've felt in about ten years. No longer taking my Rx's for high cholesterol or my type II. Getting blood work done in a few weeks to compare with my pre-Keto state. BTW, tomorrow is promised to no one, so don't eat a moderate carb diet thinking it's gonna get you an extra four years. When your time is up, it's up.

In fact the “study” did not actually put anybody on a diet, was not there at the beginning of the period she is talking about. I used the current sophisticated method “we searched the data base.” And the trick: analyze the “low carbohydrate diet pattern,” that is, make up your own definition of what you’ll measure. Then, as the text in the paper proceeds drop the “pattern” and talk about the “diet.” And the outcome was that the middle value was best. Get it. A professor of an endowed chair in cardiology says the amount of carbs is the one we’ve been able to develop in the current epidemic of obesity and diabetes. And there are a million doctors like this woman who will sell the story.

This is why they will gladly prescribe pill after pill to people instead of actually trying to fix the root of the issue. I honestly think if doctors and scientists ACTUALLY cared about the obesity epidemic (honestly why would they? They're making millions off of sick obese people), then they would explore everything, not just one study that says low carb = 4 years off life expectancy. My deal ! I've battled weight since I was 5 , I'm 53 now. In 2005 I came home from work and two half gallons of juice in the matter of seconds ( I'm not exaggerating) I found out I was pre diabetic. Well I didn't take it seriously , went to Lancaster, Pa and gorged myself with everything to eat. This was a chain reaction of my future hell! I couldn't get enough to drink , my kidneys was hurting., my vision was extremely blurry with contrast, I found out I had a kidney stone. Doctors refused to treat me , thinking it was a back injury . They checked my blood sugar and it was 503 . I had neuropathy in my feet which was incredibly painful. I ended up seeing a endocrinologist and he immediately put me on metformin, actos and lantus. I couldn't get my sugar under 250 so the answer bariatic surgery or die. I went to several more doctors as time went on , all the same story except adding more insulin's and pills, with the same exact bariatric recommendation. I was on a list of medicines that looked like a shopping list for 100 people. My father died from complications of diabetes so that also added to mental problems with depression, so more meds more hunger more insulin, foot pain , I could only manage in a scooter. I then sat down and started a plan, low carb only counting total carbs and walking on a treadmill starting at 5 min . In 2.5 years I lost 40 pounds. This was totally unacceptable to me. I started researching keto back as far as the early 1900's. They treated patients with epilepsy. It was very effective from the studies. They also discussed glucose response with carbohydrates. All carbs are not equal. Fiber and sugar alcohols have almost zero effect on insulin response. This is where olestra became popular. You had to eat them in the bathroom because you were stuck there for hours after eating olestra chips. I then started keto according to books and most success dictated net carbs so I went in that direction and lost a total of 185 pounds. No scooter , hiking in the mountains , perfect blood work , I went for an A1C of 12.6 to now I'm at 5.6 , I'm only on metformin now but Rome wasn't built in a day. I'm now on a mission to inspire others to do the same . Anyway thanks for your time ! I'm not selling anything and no affiliations to click. Maybe just to inspire people to get moving !

Instead of doctors talking to my mother about her bad nutrition, they just decided to put her on 36 pills per day. Then when all the side effects gave her pain, they upped that number by giving her pain pills. She got addicted, then died an agonizing 10 day death I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. Her pain was so bad that even in hospice care, she cried out in pain. I have very little faith in doctors as most are tied to big pharma.

Here are the facts from a life long Keto person. Yes a veggie diet for protein is better. The problem is it is next to impossible to sustain due to availability of products and the inability to find time for cooking and prepping all meals. I have tried all diets as a diabetic with an enlarged liver. When I began Keto it was very carnivore as a diet plan. I lost weight, went to 4.8 A1C, and the live showed normal in blood test. This continued to improve for about 2 years. Then the weight lost levelled out and I was able to add back a few carbs without gaining weight. But I was mostly carnivore still. My doctor told me this is so dangerous and it will kill me but he finds nothing in blood tests or CTs. So I ask myself am I killing myself even though I feel the best I have felt in 20 yrs. So I decided to add back some veggies like tomatoes, whole wheat sugar free bread and carrots. I also reduced the cheese in my diet. Low and behold the A1C started to rise again and the liver started showing signs of issues again. My nutritionist told me that was temporary and would level out and I should be fine. Now I am gaining weight again because the natural carbs in those veggies are turning to sugar and packing the fat back on. I know doctors get a bad rep for holding the line for a balanced diet and I am sure there is a reason for it but gaining weight will cost you more than 4 yrs of life expectancy. Here is what I am doing now. I am staying away from cheese, berries and sugar free processed foods. Never eating out more than once a month. I eat green veggies everyday with a meat choice. I fast 12 hours twice a week for cleansing the colon with just water. I have lost back down to 192 from my original 263. I take turmeric, ginger and garlic fresh minced in several meals a week. These help the liver and reduce enflamation from my arthritis. One thing I do know that if we all reduce our weight and stay active drs will run out of work lol.

here is the thing, as a doctor, go back to carnivore. There was literally no reason for you to doubt the process especially since your objective panels improved, you saw no issues with glycemia, no issues with liver enzymes etc. and no other issues to report. Clinically you became healthy. I know its been 9 months but you had a strong and good plan, with no deterioration at a certain point, and following medical advice actually caused issues, if so the advice isnt sound especially not in your case. REmember you as a patient also know your body, you know what works, dont be afraid to stand by methods that do work for you especially since there is no clinical issues, no metabolic issues, and no objective issues we can find in lab tests, CT's etc.

Contrary! Following a ‘healthy’ ketogenic diet has been a game changer for me. Zero RA pain in 4 months, zero flare ups, zero pain killers that fry my liver and kidneys, visceral fat gone!, fatty liver back on track, insulin resistance under control, PCOS gone. Combining keto with intermittent fasting has cleared my brain fog. I’ve lost so much weight that I don’t even recognise myself. I don’t eat bought or packaged food, nor do I snack, and I stick to nutrient dense meal, I don’t cheat and I don’t try an make keto versions of this or that. If it’s not wholly keto I just don’t eat it. I may still die sooner rather than later but at least I tried to honour my body. And... I’m saving money!

This study started 30 years ago. People at that time who were low carb, were people who did what they want and ignored their doctor's advice. They probably also smoked, drank and were overweight. So many extenuating circumstances it's ridiculous.

@dunuth
@dunuth 2 жыл бұрын
@@trevbarlow9719 No, he has a point. IN fact, you don't have to speculate. The study provides that. Smoking trended with carbs: from 33% smokers in the lowest carb group to 22% smokers in the higher carb groups. And it is a known source of confounders in observational studies about a diet parameter like this. People who stray from the dietary guideline of the time tend to also stray from other health recommendations. The study also shows that the "lower carb" group was not really low carb (average 37% calories from carbs is not even low carb, and definitively not keto). It does also show these people were "replacing" some of the carbs for fats. These were the people eating were ignoring the "cholesterol panic" of the time. They were eating closer to a "standard American diet" - fewer carbs not because they were avoiding carbs, but because they ate a higher fat diet while still eating a lot of carbs. In the Asian arm, the same principle probably applies, but the data is less transparent. At the time, more ancestrally appropriate diets in Asia were indeed high carb, but relatively low fat and using mostly animal or other traditional fat (pressed oils). These are not "bad diets". I suspect the study, again, mistook the effects of the more "westernized" eaters in Asia who, again, replaced some of the traditional carbs for more processed high fat (refined seed oil) items. The study had no way to control for that. Again 37% calories from carbs is not ketogenic ever. For this study, the average total calories in the "low carb" group was 1558. That gives a whopping 116 g of carbs. A properly formulated keto diet may have 10-50 g of carbs, adjusted to an individual's metabolic health. Trying to draw any conclusions about ketogenic diets, especially clean ketogenic diets (whole unprocessed foods, no seed oils, etc.) based on this specific study is well... sorry, but it is: stupid.

I do a combination of animal and plant based proteins. The biggest change for me is I eat less, don’t have the sugar cravings, I’ve kept the weight off, I’m no longer pre diabetic, and all my blood work is perfect except blood pressure, but I’m on the lowest dose now. I wish I would lose weight faster but at least I didn’t gain it back. And I don’t mind eating this way. Thank you for your professional opinion. I will try to use more plant based proteins

I went on a keto diet for my autoimmune disease and I am no longer suffering from debilitating neurological and gastrointestinal symptoms (although I still experience symptoms, the severity is way less). That being said, I am somewhere between an AIP diet and a keto diet, and I am not super strict on carbs (although I don't tend to crave carbohydrates and I naturally gravitate towards high fat foods like nuts, seeds, avocados, coconut yogurt, etc). That being said, I definitely eat a very high fat (mostly from plants, some fish and meat every now and there) and low carb diet (except for fruits (only occasionally), veggies, and berries, occasional sweet potatoes and yams (also rare)). I feel great eating high fat and low carb. Im less hungry, my brain works better, no more low blood sugar between meals, I can actually fast if I need to or if I accidentally miss a meal I wont feel faint, I have more energy, etc... be aware of the potential side effects and find what works for you. Vegan diet probably works better for some, keto for others (with vegetables for fiber roughage, like salads with chicken, not dirty keto without fiber that can lead to constipation). The important thing is losing weight, eating less processed foods, and eating more antioxidants. Keep your gut microbiome healthy and happy, and avoid too many simple sugars.

This study didn't even have its participents follwoing a Ketogenic diet. If you read the article, it states the lowest average amount of carbohydrates consumed was 37%. This is almost 6 times the amount a person following Keto would eat, so of course mortality rate would be high whilst also consuming high amounts of fat. This study concludes nothing in terms of the mortality rate following an actual Ketogenic diet.

Mark: The study you've linked to looks at carb intakes ranging from 37.2% to 60.5%. That is not a keto or even a true low carb diet. Keto is typically around 5% and low carb up to 15%. These much higher levels of carb consumption are very similar to the Lancet study referenced in this video and are actually much closer to the standard american diet which we know has caused an epidemic of diabetes, heart disease and obesity. Keto on the other hand has been shown to reverse diabetes and improves at least 7 conventional risk factors for heart disease (ref 1) and if you look at LDL particle counts including small dense LDL (ref 2) not just total LDL we can even see the mechanism at play. The PURE study (ref 4, below also published in The Lancet 2017 ), looked at 135,000 people from 18 countries and concluded: " High carbohydrate intake was associated with higher risk of total mortality, whereas total fat and individual types of fat were related to lower total mortality. Total fat and types of fat were not associated with cardiovascular disease, myocardial infarction, or cardiovascular disease mortality, whereas saturated fat had an inverse association with stroke. Global dietary guidelines should be reconsidered in light of these findings." Many other studies have had similar outcomes. References 1. Those people are going to die sooner than everyone in this whole study...so I’m pretty sure you’ll be better off doing keto and losing weight for health reasons as opposed to doing nothing and staying overweight....

I spent 55 of the first 65 years of my eating mostly vegetables and fruit and every few months would have fish or sometimes chicken. I was constipated often, ended up with gall stones, and worst of all, a BMI over 40. For the past 4 years I have added red meat to my diet (have once a week most weeks) and eat different types of poultry a couple of times a week, and fish 2-3 times a week. I have also completely dropped grains from my diet (barley, brown rice, burgle etc), but still have almonds and walnuts. Instead of snacking on fruit, I drink water with lemon juice, and I snack on carrot and celery sticks (that hasn't changed) and lettuce leaves. The lemon water has broken down the gall stones and they're almost gone; but the biggest change is that I've lost 44kgs and I'm never constipated. So in my case at least, my body type seems to completely disagree with those findings. Oh, and I live in Australia.

M M that is actually a myth that has been challenged many times after fossilized feces was discovered to contain more than 10 times the fiber the average American consumes now. Meaning it points to our ancestors consuming way more plants than meat, if any at all. It is known that meat consumption started after fighting off predators and establishing dominance, not for dietary needs. It makes sense, after all, we are not the natural killing machines we would like to portray ourselves as. Go to the wilderness without modern man made weapons and see how much you last trying to hunt for meat.

They might be appropriate if someone has an extremely high total cholesterol - maybe then the benefit would outweigh the risk.

As stated in the video 0:21 in the ketogenic diet only 5% to 10% of calories come from carbohydrates. The meta-analysis grouped in any keto practitioners (if there even were any participating) with the "less than 40%" of calories from carbs group. The problem with lumping keto in with "low carb" is that keto is a distinct metabolic state in which the body is using ketones as its major fuel source. The "low carb" group getting as much as 39% of calories from carbs would not regularly reach deep ketosis, and any health effects experienced by this "low carb" group cannot be extrapolated to people who eat VERY low carb, i.e. keto.

Interesting video! As someone who has been a physician for several decades, I would admonish that it is wise to beware of drawing too many conclusions from cohort studies like this even with extensive metanalysis. Many claims have been made over the years only to later be called in to question by later studies. Too many variables involved with environment, genetic background, and diet that go uncontrolled in these studies. Also the keto diet just calls for low carbohydrates and only moderate protein (25%).. It is not necessarily a high meat diet (e.g.carnivore diet). If you are a twenty something and following a keto diet, this study might make you stop and think. But, if you are like me, retirement age battling with diabetes and its complications, fatty liver, obesity and hypertension, divesting yourself of these problems with a keto diet probably is a better bet for longevity than anything else.

The keto diet actually helped me lose all of my weight. ( I went from 192 to 145). My parents were on keto before me so I hopped right on. If it wasn't for them I'd never had lost this weight. I do currently keep myself hovered between 140 and 145 so I have room for the major holiday dinners such as Thanksgiving and Christmas. I am just beginning to reintroduce the carbs slowly, but surely. I am continuing to monitor my weight and so far things are looking good. I transitioned to low-fat dairy products and didn't feel anything different so far. At least I have something to fall back on if anything happens. One thing the keto diet taught me is to watch the serving sizes and not overdue anything. Another principle this diet taught me as well is to give myself a small treat at least 1-2 times a week (for me it's once in a blue moon.) It actually does work, with commitment and consistency, you do see results 😃. I am happy that I am that weight loss story from this diet.

The other item i wanna discuss is when people say kinda like you did "you have to get your items prepared daily" my question is why? When youbwere eating all the bad carb foods you didnt have to prepare, or did you? I think the life style and desire to eat well is all in the person. If you wanna do it you will. I never have to prepare so to speak i can make 100's of items or grab dozens of snacks in my house that are all healthy. I dont keep crap so i know nothing about eating it. If someone said i woukd have to eat a "high carb high sugar" diet, i would need to prepare. And why you ask? Because i would not like doing that, hence the need to "prepare" just my 2 cents, eat healthy anf thx for the videos! This may be a very valid study. But the medical community, in the US at least, has done a very poor job over the years of providing advice about nutrition. Remember the study that came out and said eating eggs would raise your cholesterol? It took decades, but now the overwhelming opinion is that dietary cholesterol has no effect of blood cholesterol. That's just one example, there are many. It seems like every year we are told something (nuts in another example) will kill us, then a few years later they say, "Oops, we were wrong that is OK to eat." And don't even get me started about the US Government providing nutrition advice.

Nutrition is a very young field of science. Also it is very difficult to do the highest quality study designs and to study people over long periods of time.

irwfcm agree and to add to this the cardiolthoracic surgeons at the time of the recommendations for consumption of cholesterol in foods by the American Heart Associstion were coerced and now say they made a grave mistake. Inflammation is the most important factor in heart disease which causes more cholesterol in the blood because it is making more repairs causing occlusions which cause heart attacks etc.. and that even if you have a naturally high cholesterol that is moderately higher than 200 it doesn’t have any affect on your mortality unless you also have inflammation in the body which causes hardening of the arteries which then causes the little tears that cholesterol is made to repair.. the more holes the more cholesterol is used to repair.. there is proof that reducing inflammation in the body naturally will actually cause the human body to naturally reduce a plaque buildup in the artieries therefore reversing sormonens need for bypass surgery..

Yeah, but they're saying that people who got less than %40 of their calories from carbs, not %5-%10 of their calories from carbs. The keystone of the cornerstone of this diet is being in ketosis. At anything north of %10 or less, you're not in ketosis...

@@k00091 less than 40% means between 0% and 40% if you want to use the median 20% it's still TOO high for keto and real low-carb

If the people weren’t in ketogenic state the study is useless. Try again. They would have to test them several times a day. I doubt they did that if they say less than 40% carbs. That is way too high to be in keto.
