Cooked 1 muffin out of that thing and that was it. The timer didn't work too like yours.

The thing with toasters if you ask me, is that it all depends on. Is it a cold toaster or a warm toaster. On mine the first time I put bread in it in the morning. I have to set it to level two. However, if I am making additional toast after I've done that I have to set it to one or it burns. So in my experience, whether or not the toaster has been used recently determines how Brown the toast is. A cold toaster takes longer than a recently used warm toaster.

Fun fact for the day, how easy an egg peels has nothing to do with the way it cooks. Fresh eggs are difficult to peel, a week or more old eggs peel easily. That's because the inside of the egg shrinks a bit while in storage. So if you want to always have easy to peel eggs, just let them sit for a few days!

I would like to point out, those toast samples aren't a static test. Each time you run the toaster it was able to warm up the wires more and more by having the machine going. For a more accurate test you should let the toaster cool between 'batches' for five to ten minutes just to ensure it was actually back down to room temperature. Otherwise the mechanism was just staying warm and your toast is steadily getting darker and darker

Today I'm learning.... In America, Canadian bacon ranges from a perfectly circle slice of ham on the cheap end to a slice of cured pork loin on the more upscale. In Canada, we call slices of belly meat as bacon (same as American). The circle round thing is ham and the slice of cured pork loin gets a coating in cornmeal that long ago used to be ground up peas but we still call it peameal back bacon.

I must take aim at what you show as your toast test. I recently bought a KitchenAid toaster, and, as I like a fairly dark toast went and cooked multiple pieces of toast to get my desired darkness. however, when it came the next morning, there was a significant difference to the darkness compared to my tests. Do you allow a cooling off time between your tests or are they back-to-back, as this will definitely have a difference in the toasting and will ultimately skew any result.

The timer needs work. They should put a small microcontroller inside. Put in your toast/muffin/bagel and push it down (but it doesn't heat yet), then drop the egg and sausage/ham on the griddle and start the timer. Then as the eggs/meat cook, it turns on the toaster element (timed to the darkness setting) so the bread pops at at the same instant the eggs/meat are done. I have a Hamilton Beach Egg-A-Muffin maker. You heat it up with the sausage party first. Then remove the patty, put in the lower muffin, cheese, and sausage in the bottom ring, drop the egg ring down with the bottom slider in place, crack and egg into the ring, add salt, pepper, and then the top muffin, and close the top, 3:30 later, slide the ring bottom out - dropping the egg onto the meat, then open up the maker (3 levels) and its done! Perfect every time.

The toasting test was poorly done. After the first test the device has already heated up, so the next test wont be acurate. A good guide is to always use a lower setting after you've used it once already. It's the same for any other grill toaster.
