What kills me about these products is that I feel just about no one makes a quality one. Every manufacturer for some reason wants to create an "all in one" device that is somewhere between an easy bake oven and a somewhat useful appliance.

For the toast test, try giving the toaster elements time to cool off. You were doing them all one after another, so the elements were still hot when you started.

gimmicky gadgets like this are made as cheaply as possible with as few electrical components as possible. hence the timer not having any rotation and the temp control on the griddle being an on/off current. adding useful functionality would cost them extra.

Thanks for the in-depth honest review. About 6 years ago I purchased something similar to this from Amazon mainly to make sausage McMuffins. It was able to cook the muffins but the egg cooker wasn't cooking properly or cooking at all. I ended up cooking the eggs and round sausages in pans to get it done. Cooked 1 muffin out of that thing and that was it. The timer didn't work too like yours.

The thing with toasters if you ask me, is that it all depends on. Is it a cold toaster or a warm toaster. On mine the first time I put bread in it in the morning. I have to set it to level two. However, if I am making additional toast after I've done that I have to set it to one or it burns. So in my experience, whether or not the toaster has been used recently determines how Brown the toast is. A cold toaster takes longer than a recently used warm toaster.

Fun fact for the day, how easy an egg peels has nothing to do with the way it cooks. Fresh eggs are difficult to peel, a week or more old eggs peel easily. That's because the inside of the egg shrinks a bit while in storage. So if you want to always have easy to peel eggs, just let them sit for a few days!

I noticed when you did the bagel and meat... when you showed the bagel in the toaster just after the bacon and sausage went on the pan, the bottom and top of the bagel were against the heat. The inside of the bagel was on the cool side. It looks like it would work better with the top and bottom facing each other. That might have been the issue with your English Muffin during the first test. Also, thank you for clarifying the "Canadian bacon" part 😂 I'm from Canada and looked at what you threw on the grill and was like.. tf is that? That's not Canadian bacon! I would like to point out, those toast samples aren't a static test. Each time you run the toaster it was able to warm up the wires more and more by having the machine going. For a more accurate test you should let the toaster cool between 'batches' for five to ten minutes just to ensure it was actually back down to room temperature. Otherwise the mechanism was just staying warm and your toast is steadily getting darker and darker

Definitely made good on the steamed broccoli, though👍.

Today I'm learning.... In America, Canadian bacon ranges from a perfectly circle slice of ham on the cheap end to a slice of cured pork loin on the more upscale. In Canada, we call slices of belly meat as bacon (same as American). The circle round thing is ham and the slice of cured pork loin gets a coating in cornmeal that long ago used to be ground up peas but we still call it peameal back bacon.

I must take aim at what you show as your toast test. I recently bought a KitchenAid toaster, and, as I like a fairly dark toast went and cooked multiple pieces of toast to get my desired darkness. however, when it came the next morning, there was a significant difference to the darkness compared to my tests. Do you allow a cooling off time between your tests or are they back-to-back, as this will definitely have a difference in the toasting and will ultimately skew any result.

The timer needs work. They should put a small microcontroller inside. Put in your toast/muffin/bagel and push it down (but it doesn't heat yet), then drop the egg and sausage/ham on the griddle and start the timer. Then as the eggs/meat cook, it turns on the toaster element (timed to the darkness setting) so the bread pops at at the same instant the eggs/meat are done. I have a Hamilton Beach Egg-A-Muffin maker. You heat it up with the sausage party first. Then remove the patty, put in the lower muffin, cheese, and sausage in the bottom ring, drop the egg ring down with the bottom slider in place, crack and egg into the ring, add salt, pepper, and then the top muffin, and close the top, 3:30 later, slide the ring bottom out - dropping the egg onto the meat, then open up the maker (3 levels) and its done! Perfect every time.

The toasting test was poorly done. After the first test the device has already heated up, so the next test wont be acurate. A good guide is to always use a lower setting after you've used it once already. It's the same for any other grill toaster. In my toaster I set it to 5 for the first side and then 4 on the other and that side STILL gets darker than the first.

Dial never moves I would see as a good feature I think... If you eat the same type of breakfast every time you can adjust the time for your ingredients (maybe ju have smaller eggs, bigger bacon or vice versa)... so you you dial the time in after a couple days... then it's the same every time... just press the button and it is still the same (dialed in setting for you ingredients and for your taste)... But ofc if you are doing different breakfast things everyday I would like a digital setting maybe with saved timers... so you have you eggs perfect as you like them everytime and so on...

I feel like the toaster is stuck on the bagel setting and that’s why only one side is browning a deeper shade than the other.

Worked at mcds. U need to cover the egg with water spilled under the pan used to cover. It steams the top.

I have a regular cheap toaster and I never noticed or cared if it cooked toast evenly. It doesn't. Thanks to you I checked...lol. Good news is the toast it makes tastes like toasted bread even in spite of the unevenness so I think I am good.

When using bagel setting, turn the cut side of the bagel or muffin to the outside.

suggestion for toasting test is to use 2 pieces as the wattage will share the coils for a better even toasting. I've seen other toaster test on almost all single toast one side was always darker on one side but for some strange reason with 2 pieces they toasted more even all all sides and when you did the waffles they were evenly toasted

How about timing a reg egg breakfast sandwich ? Just to compare on the length of time it takes. That’s what I would wonder if I were to buy it. 😊

I’m thinking about getting one for my semi-truck sleeper cab. My inverter will handle 1500 watts. I wonder what this one is? I have a good size mini fridge, I can fit a carton of eggs, bacon and other items. This would be so much better than the truck stop crap.

Didn’t know if you knew this already, but toasters are designed to have all slots filled when toasting (per American Test Kitchen).
