I think the situation is a bit more nuanced than this...for example, when I was 3, our family adopted adopted a dog, but it didn't really work out, he spent months pooping everywhere, would bite me and my sister, and we knew we weren't qualified enough to give him the life that he deserved, so we gave him away to an older lady who loves that type of dog, and gave him a very happy, amazing life. A year later, we adopted another dog, who was amazing and who's been with us happily ever since...the thing is, if you know you're not going to be able to care for a dog, or you won't be happy with them(and caring for them will feel like a chore, something dogs pick up on and actually become depressed about) giving them away is actually the right choice. With today's dog adoption scene, they wouldn't remain homeless for long, and they would find a family that would actually love them. I do agree that visiting the same shelter just a few months later was a bit senseless though.

When the towers came down on 9-11, eventually the rescue dogs became depressed from finding corpse after corpse, and couldn't continue working. The handlers had to fake a few live rescues to cheer the dogs up. When a dog gets depressed, you cheer it up, you don't get rid of it. I'm glad Russ and Judith were able to do this, for two dogs. I believe it's entirely possible that the whole "depression" thing was a made up story and there was perhaps some other reason. When I volunteered in an animal shelter, people returned animals they'd adopted and they made up some of the craziest reasons you could possibly imagine.

My dog was depressed a week after bringing her home, I tried everything to get her to be happy. I even got a puppy for her so that while I'm at work she had someone to keep her company. Now she is happier than ever. Imagine giving up a dog for being too depressed, yea that's something, let's give her away instead of figuring out how to help her.

Apparently according to other comments I've seen a member of their family passed away & Zuzu was mourning them but instead of being understanding & helping her they decided to get rid of her for a new dog. If I worked at the Shelter I would have told them where to go, if they couldn't take the time to look after Zuzu what gives people the idea they'll care about any other pet they own. What happens if this dog isn't 'perfect' guess it's back to the Shelter 🙄 they don't deserve the love of animals!

Even if the dog was depressed, you can't just say "we don't want you anymore" and let them go. Like wtf? Poor dog was probably just tired of being stuck inside and not getting enough fresh air ._.

I feel so bad for the other dog that got adopted by such horrible excuses for people. I only hope they gave that one up too and that it was also adopted by much better people. Glad to see Zuzu getting the home she deserves 👏

That’s what happened with my dog! He was adopted from the shelter and returned a year later. The previous owner left him there and adopted a cat instead. Best mistake they’ve ever made - he’s the most amazing, precious dog ever and I’m so happy to have him in my life💙

Poor Zuzu, her owners didn't want her and adopt another dog right in front of her I would never get rid of my animals unless I absolutely had to, but I would give them to one of my sisters or a trusted friend
