Funny you should say that. The Israelis use a liquid they call "skunk water" on mobs of troublemakers. I understand it smells even worse than you can imagine. They will spray the mob, leaving them coughing and puking. Then, for good measure, they will go to the homes of said troublemakers and spray their homes down as well. Skunk water is a gift that keeps on giving. You can't wash it off and you reek of it for weeks afterwards. It is non-toxic. There is a special soap that will remove it but the Israelis keep the formula a secret. Numerous American cities do have stockpiles of skunk water on hand and it baffles me they don't use skunk water on "peaceful protesters" instead of tear gas.

I have seven small dogs and they will tear you to shreds if you invade us. Big dogs are easily bribed with laced meat. My little bastards are ratters, and are far more aggressive than 99% of other dogs. They will go for anything and do not want to make friends. They are killers. Most dogs give it the big bollocks, but are lame. Remember, its Not the size of the dog in the fight that counts, its the size of the fight in the dog. 100% 👊💪

@hedgehogamy300 my best guess is that the dog was too close to the skunk for him to spray, the skunk has to turn all the way around and the dog is moving so quickly that the skunk feels like it would get hurt if it took the time to turn around and aim and spray... Notice how once the skunk was against the fence, he let it rip! :D Also it is a small dog, not too much to deal with!

After watching a few of these, one the owners are pricks for not calling their dogs off and two, the skunks are very patient, even reluctant to spray the dogs.

Would probably been hard to call the dog off if it wasn't your own dog - he was having fun......until he got sprayed. My neighbors dog got sprayed yesterday, they just moved to the area recently and the dog was not familiar with skunks. Interesting that spraying is a last resort, it means the neighbor's dog was reasonably aggressive with the skunk, based on this video, but those critters do look like cats......

TRUE STORY: When I was a kid, my family went camping at Norris Lake, Tennessee. My aunt, uncle, and cousins were there, and they had a black lab named Donovan. In the middle of the night, my Mom woke up in our tent. She heard Donovan growling outside. A skunk had wandered into our campground. My Mom heard Donovan's teeth snap ("SNAP!") as the dog tried to bite the skunk. And then, of course, came the awful smell! And my Mom heard Donovan run down to the beach and jump into the lake. ("YIPE! YIPE! YIPE! YIPE! Yipe! Yipe! yipe! yipe!" SPLASH!) The next day, Donovan was rolling around in the beach sand, trying to get the smell off. They had to give him a bath in buttermilk. For the next few days, whenever my aunt, uncle, or cousins went to their car, Donovan would race after them and jump into the car expectantly ("Are we leaving yet? Are we leaving yet?") It just proves, there's no way to stop a dog who is dumb enough to challenge a skunk. They have to learn their lesson the hard way!

Man, I would have freaked out in this situation, first I would have tried to call my dog and get him away from that thing, hoping that the skunk doesn't follow him if he obeys the command, but dogs most of the time unless they're well trained, are going to be confrontational and ignore anyone trying to get their attention. I didn't want the dog to get sprayed, but when you play with a bull, you get the horns. I laughed extremely hard at this video, hopefully the dog learned a golden lesson.

@BisonAP My dog got sprayed when he was younger, about 3, and he learned his lesson. He got sprayed last month at age 10 and came home smelling like crap but had a dead skunk in his mouth. Not really the lesson I wanted him to learn, now my house will smell like a skunk for a month. Thanks Buddy.

The owner made no effort to prevent this. I don't expect the owner to risk getting sprayed himself, but at least try to call the dog away. If he doesn't come, then he learns a lesson.

to ajazaad: well, the closest way I could describe to you the smell of a skunk is if you crossed the smell burning rubber tires with terrible intestinal gas. Skunks tend to be shy and not fighters....BUT....a skunk always wins a fight....one squirt (or spray) of the skunks stinkey liquid from it's rear glands and the fight is definately over for the attacker....be it an animal or human attacker
