When going to dog parks, if it’s your first few times, some people are hesitant to take their dog off the leash. What happens is, when the dogs start playing they can do circles around you and trip you onto the ground. It’s safer to have both dogs off leash if they are playing. I’m guessing he knows this. Not saying he is right, but when I was a dog walker, the retractable leashes are the worst leashes-the dog is walking you! Very unsafe. Now what is even more confusing to me is that after he asked her 5 times on a date, why is she still going by his house, I would stay away, not just cross the street. She is asking for trouble if his dog comes across the street, friendly or not.

@humaneleaguelancPA Read the question again. The issue, AGAIN, is that he said BOTH "take your dog off a leash" and "put your dog on a tight leash". How can you.. using your brain that I hope you have, do both of those things simultaneously? Go ahead. Tell us all.

Pretty sure my dog has killed quite a few plants (in my yard) by peeing on them repeatedly over several months. Also yes you can control a dog’s peeing, to a certain extent. It’s fairly straightforward to teach them to pee on command, simply tell them to pee before starting on the walk, and they won’t be able to on other people’s property.

I’m confused why one dog not being on a lease makes any difference for this specific case. The dog itself didn’t brake the pipe. The leash on the dog broke the pipe. The leash and the owner did not have control. The dog without the leash didn’t break the pipe.
@bunji_beans
@bunji_beans 11 ай бұрын
I don't think the leash is as big of a part of the case as everyone is saying. The fact of the matter is that neither had full control of their dog and the pipe broke as a result of both of the dogs playing, so it's shared responsibility.

Th majority of dogs are not voice or hand trained to a sufficient level to obey commands 99.999% of the time. Especially in a stressful or unusual situation. Play time with a new dog can quickly get out of hand, become an attack/fight and then there you are with your dog not obeying your commands.

I think this is a popularity contest. The defendant is more articulate. A retractable leash is no leash. She came on his property uninvited. The judge never asked the plaintiff if her version of events were correct & just assumed they were. The judge was more interested in their "romance" which the defendant used to discredit the plaintiff. He told the truth & admitted he asked her out, so hes not a liar. Also, if shes not interested, why does she keep walking on his property? That is irrelevant.There was clear answer on who was liable in the law, but the judge didnt know it. She just likes to talk down to people & clearly liked the defendant more. Thats what you get for going on The Peoples Court to settle your disputes.

How is "I told her to take the dog off the leash so they could play" her being on the property "univited"? Why is he exempt from leash laws? They're both to blame.
@Elevendyeleven
@Elevendyeleven Жыл бұрын
He didnt say thats what happened, nor did she, so Im not sure where you got that quote from. Even so, say you invited a friend and their kid busted the pipe while the parent let it happen? Still ok? Owners/parents are liable for what they allow their pets/kids do. If the dog is that destructive and she cant control it, why is it on such a long leash? What if it knocked down a disabled person? Still ok? Why is she even bringing up dating? I have zero respect for people who dont care how their pets impact others and even less who try to attack someone elses character to deflect from their own behavior.
@courtneycoleman2244
@courtneycoleman2244 Жыл бұрын
@Elevendyeleven at 5:09, he says he invited her to take her dog off the leash. Also, HE brought up dating first when the judge asked how well he knew the defendant and his response was "I never dated the lady." If he didn't feel it was relevant, why did HE bring it up. Finally, if my child broke something while actively playing with the other person's child which we were both aware of, then no, I'd expect to split it. And if it were the homeowner, I'd never let my friend pay a dime unless their child maliciously damaged something. No matter what it was.

I use one, and never really have problems. The usefulness, to me, is the ability to change leash lengths quickly and easily. They have a little locking mechanism (or at least mine does) that works like the kind on a tape measure. I can set it to a length, and it won’t go shorter or longer. Then when I want to give my dog more leash, I just unlock it until it’s at a good length. It works very well for me, and I maintain control the entire time. I’m guessing most people don’t use it like that, if it’s seen as a bad leash option? I can’t imagine letting my dog walk the full leash length away from me, unless we’re in a safe area. My dog is short (about 1’), he’d have no chance of a car seeing him!

The difference in urine between the sexes is a myth, but it is rooted in truth. Indeed, female dogs generally cause more damage to the lawn, but that's because they squat down to urinate and create a big puddle of urine that is highly damaging. Male dogs lift a leg and try to urinate on objects, and less of the urine reaches the grass for that reason."

The plaintiff is doing nothing wrong with his trained dog, being off the leash, everybody saying he’s mad, because she said no… I see none of that…the judge is harping on this leash law instead of getting to the real case, which is her leash, broke his pipe… This poor guy didn’t stand a chance as soon as he walked into the court room. And she’s wrong for getting her shots in …the guys not allowed to ask a woman out?

I thought that at first too, if he had control of his dog off-leash it would be fine. The thing is the video showed he lied about having his dog under control, if he had control of his dog and it was so well trained, it would not have gone into the street, it would have stayed on his property. He changed his answers too much, first, it was Keep your dog on a leash, then it was I told her to take her dog off the leash. He said his dog was trained and stayed under his control, then when the video showed that was a lie, he said well my dog is friendly.I agree with you a well-trained dog can be off-leash, his isn't one though.

His dog wasn’t off his property but for a few seconds & it got right back in the yard. I thought there was a difference if a dog off leash & on its owner’s property?? Anyways I think he is a pushy person & the defendant thinks she’s all that then some! It’s funny really but i do think judge made good decisions for them to split the bill!

Nope this is about the fifth flip flop on dog laws u have done its on his property so can't be his fault his dog has the right to defend the property otherwise whatsbthe point of a guard dog ( which this isn't) if at anytime on your property it does its job and u get sued for not having control? Or it's doing its job ? Plus can't use another time to go o it's off property but this one that was on ur property wherein happened doesn't matter since that other time lol

This was one of the most mentally challenged rulings ever on this show. I watched it twice and in no part in the video does this judge makes sense on how its his fault that pipe broke when her dog broke it

Now, he lets his dog off leash so he is breaking the leash law and breaks his own water pipe in the yard, but the lady had nothing to do with it and he feels he has to sue someone for his damage he caused. Okay.... And he is against the leash law, does not understand that under control when the dog is leashed, not unleashed in the front yard where there is no fencing.

Folks never learn that having cats keeps you exempt from going through something like this. But I would've told Milian that it's none of your business if I asked her out if I were the plaintiff, particularly to her sarcastic and disrespectful reply after he answered. I swear Milian wouldn't like me. Telling you.

I would be shocked if we have a law specifically about dogs peeing in yards. I’m not good at law stuff, but I would assume it would be considered destruction of property or something? The people saying it’s not illegal aren’t aware that dog pee kills plants. So they don’t know that anything is being damaged, and think it’s fine. :)
