My 80 old dad improved so much after a few months lifting barbells, TRX and wallballing at home three times a week. He's also on creatine and whey protein everyday. He's sharper, walking faster, seems like he shaved off 8-10 years of aging.

As my name implies I am old😂but I am a lot stronger and fitter than most of my peers. This was never so apparent to me than at my granddaughters wedding. The majority of people there young and old were overweight and out of shape. I am not patting my own back with a Wow look at me I am so good. What I am is thankful the time and effort I have put into my health and fitness. I know there is no guarantee of a longer life but there is a guarantee that what days I do have will be better because of my past decisions regarding health and fitness. It is never too late to take the first step and if nothing else the first step should be to listen to Mindpump. This step if done sooner would have made my journey a lot easier. Thanks, guys for always trying your best to make the best information available to all.

My grandparents are really impressive. Grandma is 65 running marathons. Even qualified for the Boston marathon. But I would love to get them doing some weight training because they are both quite slim, almost unhealthily so. Your info will be very helpful when i attempt to get them on the gain train. Thanks a lot guys.

I used to get knots in my muscles all the dang time. Now I pretty much never do (maybe a couple times in a year if I'm being stupid). The three changes I made that I attribute to no longer being plagued by knots are 1. learning proper form (don't shrug when doing back and chest exercises!) 2. warming up properly (prime and prepare) 3. getting better sleep (get a good mattress and pillow and get enough quality sleep!)

I couldn't agree more about the insulin sensitivity of muscles. I got the Nutrisense CGM 6 months ago and was tracking my numbers for 3 months, and my morning average was around 91, and median for the day was around 95. Mind you, this was with me doing somewhere between 18 and 20 hours of intermittent fasting. Since then, I've found you guys, and cut back on the fasting, and started building muscles. All my core lifts improved. Squat: 115 -> 245 (10 rep). Bench Press: 95 (3 rep max) to 185(3rm). Deadlift: none -> 315 3 rep max. Since I was bulking, I wasn't really watching my calories as closely, and dialed back on the intermittent fasting. I recently just finished another month of CGM tracking, and to my amazement, my morning average is now at 75, and my median throughout the day is around 85. And this is with me eating more, and not really tracking my carbs as closely. My only conclusion is that the muscle I"ve put on is helping me a great deal.

Another is many never train their mind and remain mentally weak and fragile. Until you consistently lift like your last 2 reps are impossible to get but theirs a gun to your moms head so you must get them, no execrations or debate, regardless of the pain you are in, then all you gently place the weight back without making a sound will you know peace.

I’ve been ostracized from my community for saying institutional racism isn’t the driving force behind black peoples experience here. It may have helped but it’s shifted to the greediness of multi colored individuals, not just white. They want to remove our life energy and add it to their own timeline. For vitality and longevity.

I like the idea of MAPS split, and body sculpting especially since I have a motivation I haven't had in a long time, but the caveat is im over 40, and back and knee issues from the military where I can't trust exercises like free weight squats, lunges, etc because I run the risk of my knee going out. What conceivably could I do for body sculpting within those limitations?

Hello and thank you for your shows. I am a new listener and have been motivated to ramp up my strength training since I found you. Some background is I am a female and 63 years old. I was in the best shape of my life when I turned 40 in 2000! I follow Bill Phillips’ Body for Life 12-week-program book (1999,) which is a pyramid-style weight program. My physique was like one of the people on the inside covers. I worked hard and kept it up (on and off) for the next 12 years. Then I was diagnosed with breast cancer, which caused me to do radiation and chemo and reconstruction for a couple years. After that, I was drained so I was not consistent with my weight program (full set of weight and treadmill at home only.) Then my diet consisted of the SAD diet; and now, since August, I am 85 percent carnivore to increase my protein consumption. I am also genetically osteopenia, so I need to work hard at strength training. Anyway, now I recently started back at the pyramid-type program. I do upper body on T, F, and lower body M, Th, (supersets to save time.) As far as my weight, I am about 131lb; and if I would get to 125lb, all my clothes would fit again. I think I was undernourished before carnivore, started increasing calories to 3,000 on carnivore and put on the 6 pounds. I was wondering if MAPS 15 minutes would be another option, as I have been doing BFL for so long. Anyway, thank you for your guidance. I listen to your shows every day on KZbin.

What if there was a company that would come “install home gym equipment in your garage” for $X amount a month (contracts essential….when contract is over, they come remove it)….think of the money they would save on commercial real estate and heating/cooling. $100-200+ a month depending on what package of weight equipment chosen. Mindpump home gym company ! 🤑 💪🏼
