That shot of Michelle @ the end would make a beautiful framed picture. You are an awesome man , PawPaw ! I'm so glad Our Heavenly Father brought you into my life. I'm like you, when I cook, I usually do what I call 'Dump & Stir' ! Today, I'm fixin' a huge pot of vegetable soup to can, where I just round up everything I can from the end of the garden veggies ( it's getting down to 24 tonight). I'll chop it up, dump it in the pot & stir, cook it up, then can it up !

I learned something valuable from my late Father-in-law about the generosity of those who give us gifts of any kind. He said, "never turn down something that someone gives you (unless it is illegal or harmful in some way) because if you do turn down something they want to give you because you don't want it, think it' s "junk" or whatever, they may have something that they'll want to give you the next time that you really want. However, since you refused the last item they offered, they may never offer to give you anything again." I've never forgotten that good advice! 🙂

Got a lot of treasures in my junk yard that way. Just got two 42" Craftsman's and a 22" pusher and all running good now. One or two for parts every now and then too.

I've tried the wine makers yeast in the red packet, and found I got better results from active bread yeast. Softer tasting and less alcohol content from the red packet yeast. The lawnmowers and other goodies are a gold mine for someone with your talent.

4 gallons of goodness! Man, Christmas is going to be a seriously fun time! PRETTY girls come bearing gifts right to the door!!! Pawpaw, you're living the dream! Old lawn mowers, just a power head for something else fun! My neighbor just used one to make a 12 volt alternator (with a small 12 volt battery), a cheap power inverter, a car phone charging plug in, and made himself a portable 5 volt DC (For charging cell phones) /12 volt DC (for running his low voltage car coffeepot and small camp griddle) /120 volt AC (700 watts for everything else) generator for trips to his hunting and fishing camp. Love small motors, you can build a lot of fun things with them.

It's always fun experimenting with wine making. Just started making it myself a couple months ago with my backyard grapes. Got two different batches from that then went on to some local honey for my third patch. It read 15 percent which seems pretty good, gonna crack open a bottle of the honey mead for Thanksgiving and another at Christmas.

Oh my you hit the jackpot there. I know people around me who fix up old broken stuff, so I totally get it. And.... I only just started making wine, watched other videos before I found your channel, bought all the fancy stuff, star san, airlocks... so I have several batches going, then I found yours. Well... I happen to have a small cubby in the bathroom JUST too short for a juice bottle with an airlock on it. So got your paw paw method going up there with the loose caps. Way back in the early days of this country, you had to get yeast from the local brewer, if you couldn't do that you allowed your bread, beer, or mash to ferment naturally. So these folks saying things have got to be perfect, probably wouldn't have made it back then. They certainly would have had no bread except for maybe hardtack.
