@@helenbonanno4804 $20…those ferns are $40 for 2 and that rose tree is around $75. Although the ideas are cute,they’re definitely NOT budget friendly. This isn’t Dollar Tree hacks, that’s for sure.

Why is this video titled Dollar Tree Porch Makeover when tons of products are from Walmart, Home Depot, Amazon, Ikea, etc...
@cindycarlson-fitch51013 ай бұрын
I live in central Texas and after one summer with our sunshine fake flowers would be so faded there would be no way to put them back out next year. I buy bags of flower seeds in early spring for under $10 and get a wide variety of flowers that grow quite quickly. It helps if you get bags that have flowers that are native to your area. I grow a lot of other plants from seed for other garden areas and pots. As a retired lady on a very limited budget, this is the only way to grow. So many flowers will reseed themselves for next year plus I collect seeds and trade with friends to get more new plants for next year. I do. NOT have a green thumb. Sure I kill off some plants, so does the 100 plus heat we get every summer! Probably kill me off too eventually. I try to do all my outside stuff as early in the morning as possible but as a late night person, sometimes that doesn't work out to great. I am sure sometimes my neighbors wonder what is that crazy old woman doing after midnight in her Yard! 😊😊 I have a flashlight that straps on my head. Yes, maybe I am a little crazy, but it beats trying to go out in 110 degree heat😂
@jessicavaquero66402 ай бұрын
Cindy! Fellow Texan here. I just got into gardening and I love it. That heat though! I ended up getting loads of plants from Lowe’s that were on clearance because they were nearly dead. I do not have a green thumb either but what do you know, they ended up just like new. I’m trying to grow from seed with little progress but I may have picked a non-native species. I’ll have to try again.

How do you keep your faux florals looking bright and beautiful throughout the summer? I tried spraying mine with a “clear coat” floral spray, but it still ended up fading. Thoughts?
@whatsamacallit38333 ай бұрын
I would not use plastic plants in my yard or planters. They will deteriorate outside. They will fade and weaken and break. Plus they just look cheap. But- the ferns do look pretty good but I bet they won't last too long. Do you ever really sit outside at dark? You don't look like you have a screened in area. Don't the bugs eat you up? LOL.

The linear paint lines on the container might be easier accomplished by using an empty plastic that previously held fishing line or bracelet string and rolling it in the paint then over the surface. Seems like less work and a more consistent pattern/line.

Love the quickcrete planter! I just wonder how fragile it turns out to be, there is no frame/base to it, maybe I'd add some paper towel to the mix or even some fabric. But in this case, not sure if the shape would look as organic as it does without added stabilizers like paper or fabric. Really love the planter. Does anybody know how sturdy it turns out to be? Does it break/crumble easily?
