This is awesome. Training handstand pushups alone in a freezing cold shed with DB music blasting is an absolute vibe.

it was cool to see more of a humble and real training session from someone advanced rather than simply the highlight reels or maxing out we are all used to. good reminder that the basis and fundamentals are always key and that its a long journey. 😎 my dragonball love and appreciation was also re-ignited in the last couple years, shit should be mandatory viewing for all youth. 😅

I got super strong on your PPL routine but nothing gets me that explosive throwing my self up on the bar to about my stomach level for pull ups like GTG. Its just the most superior routine i have found for body weight pull ups. I never tried it weighted. I use your PPL routine for weighted everything.
@DominikSky1 Жыл бұрын
weighted gtg doesn’t seem very appealing to me… using it for high pullups, front lever work, jumping, kicking, stretching etc makes a bit more sense :)

Hey dominik, for strength, do you think it is better to do sets of HSPU on wall or freestanding? I can only do 6 freestanding but on wall I can do 10-12 for 4 sets. I ask because when I train freestanding, I find that I accumulate easily over 50 reps in total in a session but don't really feel it much in my shoulders.
@skrivenoznanjeumjetnost826 Жыл бұрын
just increase the room while do it with the wall,yu can practise free standing after you train for strength or next day,but mainly do it with deficit 3 ,4 sets ,just 2,3 reps if you can and thats it,you will feel hell in shoulders
@rewmoo1805 Жыл бұрын
@@skrivenoznanjeumjetnost826 ok, will do. I've done them deficit before but getting set up in that way is difficult since I cant crawl up the wall like normal. Any suggestions?
@DominikSky1 Жыл бұрын
as per usual I would do both! start with free balance and as you see the quality diminishing swith to chest to wall hspu ;)

Hey man, so good to see you back ! You're such on inspiration, your pushing and pressing tutorials are still the bible to me. I got a question for you, i usally train calisthenics in the morning (often from 8 to 9) but i don't know when the best time to eat. Is it before, after, neither (compatible IF), both ? Does it actually matter ?

Dom what are your thoughts on Mike Mentzer? Do you think heavy-duty style could work for calisthenics mixed with weight training? example Chinups to failure (6 - 8 rep range) with a 5 second concentric, 2 second hold and 5 second eccentric failure Negatives till failure with a 2 second hold, 5 second eccentric failure hold till failure superset into (3 second rest MAXIMUM): Barbell bicep curls to failure (6 -8 reps) 5 second concentric 5 second eccentric Failure Lower weight on the Barbell and continue to 5s c and 5s e until complete failure just 1 set and then done.

Mr. Sky, please help me. Sorry but I don't know why the FUCK when i do my 1RM weighted pull up, it is almost impossible for me to maintain an overhand grip. But with weights I can rep, there is no problem with overhand grip, but whenever I get to my 1RM, I must grab the bar right under it and have no wrist over the bar whatsoever.... is the issue the lack of *grip strength?*

On your write your own training program i know after we hit 5x5 on a certain exercises and weight we then go to 3x3 with more weight. Do we also follow this progression with our other exercises that we have on our program?? Or keep them the same from week to week?
@DominikSky1 Жыл бұрын
either more weight or pick a more difficult progression or add an isometric pause to make the exercise more challenging… those would be the basic options :)
@wellutopia2237 Жыл бұрын
@@DominikSky1 Thanks so much. Ill definitely start increasing my other exercises also. Seemed to have been working out good keeping the assistance workouts the same and only increasing reps on main exercises but ill give it a go and see how that does.

"I've noticed a difference in my performance during weighted pull-ups when using a bent bar compared to a straight bar. Specifically, I can pull less weight on the straight bar. I've seen that you do your weighted pull-ups using a handle. What is the difference?

Hi man! Would love to ask: How can a cut done without losing much strenght?
@DominikSky1 Жыл бұрын
if you have fat to lose than there will be little to no strength loss… if you are ripped to shreds losing muscle mass will affect strength a bit more. In each case if you want the strength loss to be minimized simply continue to train for strength as you are doing your cut… I hope that makes sense :)
