⭐ Is the Domio Motorcycle Helmet Audio System really a game changer? Are you looking for a convenient, and functional way to play music and take/make calls with great sound quality inside your motorcycle helmet? When attached to the exterior of your motorcycle helmet the Domio Moto Audio device offers in-helmet audio without the use of interior speakers or earphones. Very slick! We put it through the tests on 3 motorbikes of varying loudness, and 2 different helmets on the streets and expressways of Tokyo, Japan. We got varying results. See this video before you buy!

TEST 1 2009 Custom Triumph Bonneville (LOUD CUSTOM EXHAUST)
TEST 2 2008 Triumph Speed Triple (SEMI-LOUD STOCK EXHAUST)
TEST 3 2019 Vespa Super 300 Notte (CHURCH MOUSE QUIET)
The Helmets:
Full-face SHOEI Neotec Modular helmet
Open-face ARAI (note this helmet was tested separately and was not used in the ride videos)
EXTRA NOTE: Domio recommends mounting the audio device with the large end facing forward or up. It made no difference in my audio tests which way the unit faces. Due to the curves and form of both of my helmets it worked better the way I mounted them.
OPEN-FACE HELMET FINDINGS
After testing the Arai open face helmet on all 3 bikes I came to the following conclusions:
*Bonneville with loud exhaust it was NG. Too much wind noise in the open-face helmet The full-face was a better option but still not great.
*Speed Triple with stock exhaust good but full-face helmet a better option with better bass response and overall good music audibility and clarity.
*Vespa was great! Good music audibility, clarity, bass etc. Full-face helmet still the best option.
NOTE: I think individual findings are going to be different depending LARGELY on the helmet you have. If the exterior of the shell has a more gentle curve the Domio will probably fit closer to the surface. Helmets like a BELL BULLIT will probably sound awesome. If your open-face helmet has a snug fit and seals nicely around your face, your music audibility will benefit greatly I believe.

Great review. I appreciate the honesty. I'm a little surprised that it's not so easy to find a good "loud enough" sound system for the helmet. I have a harley and have tried a couple of cheap BT headsets and find that speeds over 40-50 mph make listening impossible.

Nice review ! most likely , a sena or scala rider, solves the problem! i ride with a sena 30k. can rear the audio perfectly, even with a open face helm and a loud pipe.

I ride with a Nolan N104 EVO.. and using the N-COM B5 is just awesome, I have the setup since 2013 and it still works great. Though it is helmet specific and also 250€ expensive 😭 but worth the money. It works super great on my Honda SH300i but also nice on a KTM Super Adventure S with an Akra exhaust... Though I would not recommend listening too loud, so you can still hear your surroundings.

What is the Domio like with ear plugs in? I find music easier to hear via helmet mounted speakers and the volume doesn’t need to be high to overcome wind noise, I also have a Shoei Neotech

I haven’t tried with ear plugs yet- but using my Bluetooth ear buds are hard to beat if using my Neotech. My open-face is too difficult to put on with earbuds in-ear

Recently received the Domio and it arrived defective. It easily paired to two different phones, but there is no audio. I have been emailing them for days and they have been giving me the run-around. Me and a friends had the same issue, we purchased a montha or so before they went into hiding. Mic is useless on both mine and my friends systems. Since I've switched to cardo edge, much better product, buy it on sale in a twin pack to save some $$$

Might be good for a mountain biker or snow boarder if the mount can handle the rougjmovements and the cold weather. I've had this product and so did my buddy .... we had regrets and sold them for like $50 each soon after as the company making them also stopped supporting the product very quickly. The mic was useless. %100 Would not recommend. I have a cardo edge now, way way way better. Can hear at highway speed with earplugs in and the voice commands are great.

Are you seriously wearing shorts riding on pavement? I highly recommend you wearing some typeof armor/ Kevlar jean. You have 1 set of skin, when you wreck..not if..but when you wreck I hope you're wearing riding protection. Hopefully your viewers that are new to riding don't follow your example. I ride street and dirt, I have seen nasty crashes. You can't control other cars around you. Great review though.!

Its a very poor product & atrocious customer service. I would completely avoid unless you want helmet music only for things like snowboarding / mountain biking. You can't use this product as an intercom and the sound at speed on a motorbike is not good. The company are totally out of integrity in terms of doing what they say, when they say they will and once you lose your patience with them via eMail communication then they ignore you. They avoid taking any responsibility for anything other than TAKING YOUR MONEY. I am so disappointed I fell for this product and even more disappointed with the company for ignoring my polite questions regards how to return & refund.
